those are all some really cool tricks from both of you. I thought I would leave a comment because I like to read the blog, but I never really comment.
toe rev swirl is sweet. I like that pixie ss whirl>dlo combo too. Can you hit pixie ss blender? I have been trying that one lately, pretty hard trick.

Hey Alex, props from 69!
It was fun to play with you this summer. You had improved so much from last time I saw you, which was maybe 2006 Lausanne or something

I hope we have a lot of time to shred with Armin. Maybe he can teach you something new when he gets backmr.alex wrote: I will miss Armin who is going to stay half a year in Finland to study abroad. He'll be in Tuukkas town so I'm looking forward to a finnish progression![]()

yesssssssss! so many comments!
makes me really happy. i really appreciate it.
@asmus:
i'm not on msn anymore.
you rock too.
@ken: i jumped.
@alex: good to read you again.
@daniel: thanks for commenting. yeah, i can hit pixie ss blender. should try it again though.
nothing new footbag-wise i guess. i'm actually not playing well at the moment. well, i don't care so much. i've had fun to motivate some newer players.
had a nice footbag-golf session just before christmas. was the last hour of the weekly footbag-course i teach, so i had to organize something special. we had some hot wine punch and some chocolate prizes.
i'm done with my studies now.
my last exam was on the 24th of november.
i'm pretty happy to announce that i've got my master in law now. haha, it's really funny to see people's reactions when i tell them that i'm already finished (i'm quite young, as i'm 22).
i'm working now as a legal adviser for asylum seekers. just twice a week and no money, but i don't care. it feels really nice to do something good.
after being together with my boyfriend for 4 1/2 years, i finally managed to get him a bit into footbag. he's pretty good at kicking and now doing his first toe stalls.
went snowboarding on saturday. felt good to be in the snow again. after new year's i'm going to my grandparents' to snowboard for 4 days.

hey tuukka! It was really cool to shred with you this summer. teach armin some cool shit which he can show me in summer
hey verena, it's so awesome that you finished the study so fast. I was just talking to hanna, that it's so incredible that you're already finished. we thought that you are 23, then I read here that you're 22
even more impressive
I finally found a way of stitching my bags how I like them. like the size of pentagons+hexagons, gathering and filler. I'll call them "separator bags" from now on
here's #03 which I'll keep for myself, all red for the sake of visibility:

@daniel: i started in october 2004 and officially finished in december 2008.

@alex: thanks.
your new bag is really beautiful. great that you started to stitch one coloured bags!
just a short update:
i had a really great time in berlin (alex, anita, georg and i went to berlin to celebrate fc footstar's birthday), even though i played really shitty on both friday and saturday. well, it didn't matter, because i just had a really good time hanging out with people and enjoying berlin. i once more realized what a great city berlin is, for sure the most active in europe.
as said, i don't play that well at the moment. the reason for this is that alex is still injured and my footbag sessions were mostly crappy solo sessions. i'm really looking forward to shredding with alex again!!
i'm getting a bit better at drifters, so here's some drifter stuff:
-18 contacts of drifter>ss butterfly rpt
-pixie whirl>pdx whirl>pdx drifter>pdx whirl>run
-reverse swirl>pdx drifter bsos
-pixie ss drifter bs
-pixie drifter bsos
-pixie double legover>pixie drifter>pdx blender
good night. i should be in bed by now, have to work tomorrow morning...
@alex: thanks.

i honestly don't know. i think not more than 4 and i'm not trying to set up a personal drifter record at the moment, as i whenever i do drifter>drifter i tend to rush and not stall the bag properly.
as soon as i've sorted that problem out though i want to be able to do at least ten drifters.
yeah. just had a pretty good solo session.
i haven't had shin splints in a few weeks now. i don't want to say anything yet, but i really hope this stays like this for a while. the reason is maybe my switch to new insoles.
it feels so good to be able to jump and really feel my muscles/strong legs.
i didn't play this week a lot though. on tuesday for like 20 minutes, friday for two hours and then around 1 hour and 15 minutes today.
friday was alex' come-back-session. it felt good to finally be able to sherd with him again. i didn't play very well, as i was really sore from soccer the day before (it was more exhausting than usual).
i hit 6 contacts of toe drifter>DLO and flip fairy drifter.
today i hit a nice combo and a new trick. yeah!
smear>atomsmasher>toe drifter>DLO>parkwalk>pdx whirl>pdx whirl>pdx blender
and after footing it at least for 100 times, i hit atomic drifter.
this thursday i have to teach 2 soccer classes. i'm a bit nervous, as i'm not that good at soccer. i'm going to focus on kicking though and maybe teach them a flying clipper before they are going to play against each other...
happy sunday.

hey verena,
it won't be too long before we can have a little shred session again! Let me know which days you're planning on staying at my place when you're in Denmark. I'll be busy the most of the weekend, but hopefully I'll be able to put in a session some time when you're in the country. I'll try to hype up the monday session at ØF when you're here, so we can get some more people out!
Hope everything is good.

i feel like updating this, even though i've got no good footbag news...
i'm a really bad footbag player right now.
this really sucks and makes me feel really sad, because i neither feel like retiring right now, nor have i lost the interest in footbag. i still think it's a great sport, i really appreciate that i've met so many nice people and i feel it's very important that i keep playing, since alex and i are keeping footbag-vienna together. plus, i teach footbag once a week and try to spread the word of footbag.
however, i think i'm kind of not capable of playing anymore.
the last four weeks (or maybe even more) i've just had bad sessions. some were bad, some others were really bad.
the reason behind this is mainly that i've been working a lot and i started to play football in a club.
while after 9 hours of work i can still have a good football session, having a good footbag session is impossible. footbag is way more mental, i need a lot of concentration, i need to feel the bag, i need to be in a good mood, etc. plus, football practise is 2-4 times a week and most of the times my legs are really sore. in football i can see myself progressing (there's A LOT i have to learn in order to become a really good player), in footbag i see myself degressing.
good night.
on friday i'm going to copenhagen for 4 days!! yahooooooooooo!!

oh, don't be sad!!!! I don't think that you suck. especially your symple swirls rock!
I think that playing soccer between the footbag sessions isn't the best to help
but I actually think that no other sport helps for footbag, but I also don't have a clue about anything
on monday I'll start to play soccer too, but just once a week
have fun in copenhagen!

yes! i finally broke the curse of having only bad footbag sessions.
yesterday i played quite decent and had a few nice runs. nothing special, but i thought that my variety was a bit better than usually.
my 4 days/weekend in copenhagen were really fun.
not much footbag going on though, as everybody was really busy. on monday i managed to play with anne and rune though. considering that there was no music, the gym was too cold and i played really crappy, i was really amazed that it was quite a fun session. that really speaks for the people. thanks.
then i returned to vienna and ended up having a sore throat for two days and then my cold started. yesterday i was feeling really bad the whole day, but nevertheless managed to have a good footbag session and a good beer afterwards and thought i was better. however, this night was really horrible, i couldn't sleep as breathing felt like having a weight of 10kg sitting right on my lungs.
don't know yet, how i'm going to manage, but i have to be fit by tomorrow though, as i'm playing my first football match! yeah!!!
i don't understand how vasek has more fun playing football freestyle than footbag. i perfectly understand that footbag can get boring after a few years, but to me football freestyle is just a version of footbag that restricts your possibilities. to me football freestyle isn't appealing at all.
however. football itself really is appealing.
i'm having a lot of fun there. it's really hard to combine footbag and football practise though, as in football i have to practise at least twice a week, plus play a match on the weekend. four times a week plus match would be better though. my trainer really keeps a list and checks our attendence. :O it's also amazing how different football and footbag practise are, everything's organized, you have to do something, you have to come to training, etc.

really bad footbag news:
i have a lot more fun playing football/soccer than footbag at the moment.
i hope that i will still find time to play some footbag, but it's really not easy, as i'm also working and then there's a lot of football practise + matches on the weekend.
in football i've found something where i'm finally making nice progress and people think i'm really talented. in footbag the first 1 1/2 years were similar, but then i stopped progressing. also, my legs feel really good and are in no pain at all (well, i hope it stays like that, but no shin splints or anything).
my football club has 3 teams (one is playing in the highest league in austria (bundesliga), then one in a state/federal country league and one in a regional league). i'm really excited that on sunday i'm going to play in the state league (and it's only my second game ever), i hope i won't mess it up and get degraded again.
so i really don't want to stop playing footbag, but the problem is that at the moment i really enjoy football more than footbag and see it more as a duty to continue playing.
my goal now is to not get a lot worse in footbag.
however, yesterday i played footbag again. it was quite a productive and intense session with alex. alex is really motivated at the moment which makes me happy.
he hit some nice stuff like ripped warrior>mullet>run and showed me his new routine for todexon. i liked it.
i hit pdx whirl>pdx drifter>rpt the other day. just to end with some footbag related stuff on my side.

winter finally ended in Vienna and it's possible to shred outside. I hope people here get more motivated now because I don't want to play alone too often. already had 3 solo sessions.
some highlights of my latest sessions. I hope from now on I can post more regularly highlights:
maelstrom (spinnig ducking pdx whirl) 1st time
legbeater > blurry whirl > blur rpt. > almost rubberman (dropped the last blur)
matador > ps whirl bsos
8 x atomsmasher
stepping clipper > ps whirl rpt.

hello modified,
maybe i should start to post here again...could give me some extra motivation.
yeah...i'm still playing footbag!
because of my sport science studies i had to do an insane amount of sports last semester (had some really hard swimming & gymnastic exams)...fortunately i've passed them and have now time to play football and footbag! i'm really motivated and love both.
because of football that stole my right toe (can't do any shuffle tricks with my former strong side anymore; i've nver thought that could happen and i would loose my strongest concept), i'm trying to rebuild my game which is actually exciting as well. so that means more clipper based tricks like spinning and stepping (still have problems with my flipside).
the footbag-vienna scene is quite active at the moment which is nice.
already had like 5 outdoor sessions...2 were real ones...the other ones were freezing.
alex was injured for a while, but is playing very well now again.
and so is ilja!! he's even progressing again and hitting new tricks like TATW, atomic spinning, barraging tricks etc.
...here are a few combos/tricks from my sight from yesterday's session (not necessarily new nor so impressive):
-whirr a few times (hope to start to hit it midstring soon)
-atomsmasher>atomsmasher
-gyro mirage>drifter>run, fairy drifter>reverse swirl>run
-easy blurry whirl>pdx blender
won't make it to worlds this year, but want to go to euros in madrid. hopefully i'll book my ticket tomorrow.
maybe i'll start posting here again (though the footblog section doesn't seem to be very active at the moment).

just came back from a great footbag session!
today tamás tilly from hungary came to play with us!!
was a really fun session...he's great to shred with, i hope he will visit us soon again!! also, his toe shuffle and especially eggbeaters are so good!
alex was also playing very well and hit some very long and hard runs with good variety!
my runs weren't too impressive today (but not so bad either), but i hit some good combos. here are just a few things that i was happy with and can remember:
-blurry drifter first try and to start a run with
-whirr>simple swirl
-atomic drifter (definitely not new, but can't always hit it)
-spinning blender
afterwards we went for a falafel and chilled in the MQ. i love spring so much!!
