Thanks a bunch, you may not be complaining, but it irks me that people can't watch it in its full quality. When I get the chance I'll do some contrast/brightness with the hotel hallway, and the initial room.Abe wrote:Yea its pretty much the same in high quality. The only shots that weren't dark were of the really big indoor complex. The dark shots include whatever room the first frame starts at, as well as in the hotel hallway. I'm not really complaining too much though it doesn't bother me that much.
Busy with something so expect it fixed in a week or so.

Wow! How could I not see this? Sweet vid, sweet footage!

Alright so I figured out the problem, its on your end with crt monitors. All my friends and including myself are using LCD monitors and it comes up perfect for me.
So the question remains, anyone else with a LCD monitor confirm this? ALso is it showing up the same with the download link?
If people want to keep bitching about this dark problem, I suggest you stop. Turn up the brightness or download the video.
-note in a really bad mood right now-
so sorry for my snappy tongue.

I used an LCD monitor to view this and it wasn't dark for me.
I don't think there is a song that works for everyone. Everyone has different tastes in music.

I have an LCD and it's dark. Also, my monitor is bright.
The footage is awesome (of course,) so thank you for putting this out.
The last thing in the world I associate with footbag, much less DC is the N word. So, I guess ultimately I find the musical choice bewildering and bizarre.
Thanks again for the video though. Just because I take exception to the indulgent abuse of ethnic slurs doesn't mean I don't appreciate seeing some recent DC footage.
EDIT: in fewer words.

I haven't looked, but it would be super awesome if he were walking by in the background of some shot.Erik Chan wrote:I'm on a flatscreen and this is just as dark for me as on YouTube. Great video though. I found it funny that Matt had to ask when this was from, since he was there. Thanks for sharing Eric. I can't wait for the DVD.
Umm, the vid is good. Dave just Davin' it up all over the place. God Dave.

-It was a simple video put together quickly in less than 20 minutes for my friends at Stanford and a few select footbaggers I always release footage to. I even said it was simple.Ian Brill wrote:Regarding the music: the music sort of works for the vid and occasionally syncs up nicely but there are certain words I don't like to hear when I am trying to have a good time. I think it is unfortunate that so much hip hop is so riddled with these.

Please wipe his(Ian's) post about the choice of song, this is a topic to be just about Dave or the video. I don't need this to turn into some race debate.

the music makes footbag and david loook hella gansta!
I'm down with that.
Dave's shred is always off the hook, but if you can censor that v-neck out I would enjoy it a little more

Um, modified doesn't work like that. Just cause somebody makes a point you disagree with doesn't mean you can get it censored.Eric Chang wrote:

Anyway, I thought the footage was good and brought back memories of NYJ, which is always nice. FTR, it was dark for me too, though my monitor is just a step above an etch-a-sketch. The music made me laugh more than anything, partly because it was over the top, and partly because I don't associate that kind of music with a teenage emo whiteboy in a v-neck kicking around a beanbag.

I don't know if it has been mentioned already but what is the song and artist in the video?
And lol @ Ian's post, mute it if you dont like it. Look at it from a cultural perspective, I mean i doubt these hip-hop artists main goal is to ruin a song they spend hours making with an "N" word here and there, I mean there must be other reasons. Enjoy fueling walmart with its censored cd's
Awesome video by the way, sorry for ranting on your post, just annoyed

Just FYI, Ian Brill is a Mod. And any future request like that (legitimate or not) should be PM'd to a mod.Eric Chang wrote: >>>Admin Request<<<

I have three LCD monitors and it looked very dark on all of them, although I could still see what was being hit.
Hilarious comment about the music though. Perhaps some kind of warning would be necessary though, like; "If you're more conservative than the Pope you might find this video offensive or arousing."

Really good video. I definitely remembered some of the runs that Davey hit in this video and it brought back memories of NYJ for me as well. I thought the music was ridiculous and laughable at the same time, because it didn't sync with Dave's runs well imo. I agree with Ian's points because they are ethically relelvant, but culturally music is how you use it. I have no firm opinion in that aspect.
Also, the video was dark for me, but I could still see what was hit. I didn't have a problem whatsoever in enjoying it.
Eric, slightly off-topic in your perspective, but learn to have some composure in what you do and what you release as a video editor. There will always be critics out there, so it's best to be stoic in taking criticism. Pride is one thing, but no one likes a hot head. Unless you're into Shakespeare and love the role of Hotspur in Henry IV, Part One.
