Played again today. That's two, yes two, days in a row! Played for an hour and 15 minutes and then spent 30 minutes weight lifting.
It is snowing here any there is a really good chance there won't be school tomorrow. I am far enough ahead in my schoolwork and lesson planning that even if we do have school tomorrow, I won't be screwed so I decided to just take the time to play. I also got to hang out with a bunch of people this weekend so I didn't feel like I was wasting my precious free time being anti-social rather than spending time with friends whenever I can.
It was a really good session. I hit some challenges as well as some new moves and links. I also went for 20 tiltless again. The max was 15 but I got to 10 several times. Like I have been told before, it is not getting to 20 that is most important, it is improving enough so that I am getting 15 consistently.

So just a quick update:
Play Saturday at UMD and Sunday in DC with Ken. Both days I mostly worked on challenges.
I am really excited about the challenges because they are really going to help my game. There are some things that I wouldn't have thought of or, once I tried them, were way harder than they seemed. Like doing a pickup>ATW out.
I tried to play yesterday of school but once I got outside, it was too cold.
This weekend is the Pittsburgh Jam and I am super excited. I told myself no footbag jams this semester while finishing up grad school, but this one way way to tempting to resist. It get to play footbag with little kids at a children's museum
And there is supposedly going to be a visit to a cupcake shop.
Had a job interview yesterday with the world languages department of Anne Arundel County, MD that I think went really well. I also have one in St. Mary's County, MD on Friday evening. So we will be leaving for Pitt on Saturday because of it.
In other random news, some of my students have been constantly rapping the weather after we listened to a rap about the weather in Spanish a couple of weeks ago. I love teaching.

Pitt Jam was great. A jam where I get to play footbag with little kids could never be bad. I didn'tget to play too much because I spent a lot of time with the kids but what little I did play was fun. I played horribly, but it is difficult to play, stop, play for a bit more, stop, etc.
Unfortunately, the Erie crew wasn't able to hang out after the event so it was pretty disappointing I didn't get to hang with them more. Although, I had fun hanging at Matt B's house after the event and getting to chat with people. I also enjoyed going to Adrian's pizza. Except they spelled it wrong. There was a really sweet Italian guy who worked there who reminded me a lot of Spinner from Death to Smoochy (The guy in the green jacket). Here are the few pictures I took on the trip:

See if you can figure out why the picture of the menu is funny
So I heard the most exciting news I have in a long time: Little Richard is coming to town in June! I am going to see him with my family. It has really been a dream of mine to see him, although he is 77 so I wonder how much he will be able to rock out. But he is truly the Queen of Rock and Roll.
Here he is back in the 50s, before he wore curly wigs:

Here he is when I first fell in love with him, at the age of 10, in one of my favorite moves, Mother Goose Rock 'n' Rhyme. Look for the guy in the pink wig at about 3:30:

Drew, I will be sure to deliver next time I see you. And for you, they are always free
The funny thing about Whirl magazine is it is a basketball mag. Perfect for Ken.
The DC All Stars have finally organized a weekly session which is great. It really motivates me to get out there. Sundays at 2 on University of Maryland campus. So if you are ever in DC on a Sunday, make sure to show up.
It is also nice to have a definite weekly time that I will not concentrate on school.
The last session was kind of nice because it was 5 people with absolutely no stamina so I didn't feel so dumb that I had to skip every other turn to catch my breath. I don't understand why, but my stamina has been horrible even though I play at least three times a month. My heart rate has been really concerning me. I do twenty stalls and I feel that my heart is going to beat out of my chest. I often feel that my heart is beating too fast when I wake up sometimes. I am hoping that it is just being anxious from grad school so hopefully it will be over in a month and a half.
Ok enough about my being out of shape. Last session I hit another challenge, 20 legovers. No video because, really, who wants to watch that?
I was soooo close to doing a dimwalk to a DLO. That would be amazing because it would be my first guiltless combo with no BOPs. My DLOs were coming way easier than they had in the past. I think it was just one of those things where you don't try it for awhile and then it clicks.
Next session I will be doing work on more challenges.

Hellz yeah I'll make you some cookies, baby. I am pretty awesome with chocolate chip. Although I don't know how I would film you opening it when you are on the other side of the US... but seriously... Ill make you cookies.
I have exercised 3 days so far this week and I am really happy about it. I do not exercise enough so I am trying to make a point to exercise at least 3 times a week. Tuesday I went to the gym and used the elliptical for 30 minutes and did some weight training, Wednesday I ran the stairs in my house for 15 minutes , did some floor exercises and then danced around in my room for like 20 minutes. Dancing in front of the mirror is surprisingly good exercise.
Yesterday Ken and I played footbag before we went to my friend's gymnastics show. We only played for like 45 minutes but it was good to play. I thought I played pretty well. My biggest highlight of the day was hitting osis to far legover on my bad side osis. I am not that good at osis anyway so it felt great to hit something out of it. I really think I am improving, slowly but surely.
Will play again on Sunday with the DC All Stars. We need to consider revamping that name...

It was a really relaxing couple of days which I really needed. It is my spring break, but I will be working on writing my thesis as well as doing other school work and lesson planning this week so there isn't much of a break.
Played lots of footbag this weekend. First session was on Friday with Ken before my friend's gymnastics show. Wasn't very long but it was fun.
Saturday I went to the Cherry Blossom Festival with Ken. They were nice but it was hella crowded.
At the DC All Stars session on Sunday there were seven, yes seven footbag players there!! Not to mention this 6 or so hackers who came to join us. It was so much fun to have so many people there and I hope it continues on this way! One of the hackers said he was interested in learning some tricks. We also played everything on the footbag spectrum (minus golf. to come in the future...). It was really like my dream session. Everyone playing everything and having fun. Also, Ryan Thomas is in town which is super exciting.
Played today also. Hit some challenges, which there will be vids of in the challenge thread.
And here are a couple of random videos I keep meaning to post. This was the half time show at a UMD bball game. It was literally the best halftime show I have ever seen:

You got it, Kyle. I just don't know when I will be able to put footage together.
I played 3 days in a row, Sunday-Tuesday. I had planned on playing yesterday but I ended up getting sick from what I believe was a sugar hangover. Tuesday night I ate two pints of Ben and Jerry's ice cream with Vince Bradley and Ryan Thomas and ended up in bed for almost the entire next day. At the time it was amazing. We ate the ice cream while watching the greatest footbag performance in history. It was a good evening.
Tuesday I didn't really hit much, but I felt that the practice I put in was worth it. I missed hitting some of my challenges because of stupid stuff like forgetting what the next trick was or just missing the last trick for no good reason. But the combos were feeling easier as I did them.
I will play again today and work out some.

Played for almost 2 hours with Ryan on Thursday during the day. It was a rough session for me, but still fun hanging out with Ryan. He is fun to watch play. Always very creative. He hit a ducking inside hat stall, which was prob my favorite move he did. Be inside hat stall I mean he bent over so that they bag was stall on the underside of the brim of his hat.
Also played yesterday with Ken and the UMD juggling club. That was fun because I hadn't hung out with the J-club in awhile. My friend Christian, who is the awesome juggler I talked about awhile back, did a ATW to mirage. And he probably hasn't played footbag for more that 4 hours total in his life. He has the most insane body control of anyone I have ever seen.
Hopefully I am off to get breakfast soon. I hope you all have a lovely day.

I'm sorry, but was that supposed to be cute or funny?Kyle Hewitt wrote:where are my fucking cookies
Let me recap for you: Adrienne is under incredible stress right now. She's teaching full time in a middle school. She's also finishing her graduate degree, which means going to class, as well writing a thesis. On top of all this, she's interviewing for jobs, and soon she's going to be looking for a place to live.
In the middle of all of this, because you were bored/selfish/some combination of the two, you decided to ask her to bake cookies for you and send them to you. Only because Adrienne is one of the nicest, sweetest people in footbag, she said she would. Stop and think about that for a minute. Go back and read the list of all the important shit she has to do, then think about how nice it was for her to offer to bake you cookies.
And now you come at her with this "where are my fucking cookies" bullshit? Are you serious Kyle? You know, it's one thing for you to act like a prick towards people on this forum you've never met. But my understanding is that you and Age got along well at USO, and she was nothing but nice to you. You owe her an apology.
I'm not going to clutter Age's blog by telling you how disappointed I've been in your behavior; I'll save it for a PM. I just want to remind you that when you were going through stressful times, your footbag friends were there for you in a supportive manner. Now that Age is going through a stressful time, look at how you're behaving. You're better than this Kyle.

couldnt agree more with Ken, on a lighter note, didnt even know you had a blog! I hope all is well for ya, and the shred is good
Your next task: Go to the bathroom.
Wash your face.
Put your shoulders hunched upwards.
Look really, really slowly upwards towards the mirror like in the movies
And slap yourself in the face.
With your game face on.
And go shred with jim.
It'll work, trust me.

Howday ya'll
So I obviously haven't had much time for writing and after this I will be completely MIA for a few weeks. So before I forget:
~Cookies and drama that came from them will be dealt with later
~Yes, the Footboltz were on Tricks of the Trade 2
~I hope all is well for you too Zac!
Footbag:
~Last Sunday I hit torque to some stuff. The "some stuff" doesn't really matter because the point is I linked it and Ken said it looked better than the only other one I did.
~Here is my first 3-add link with no bops, which I am really freakin' proud of:

Hope all is well and wish me luck on my thesis!
