Epic touch football, but a loss
Game started well with me intercepting the oppositions last pass and running the length of the field to score. This meant we were 1 - 0 up having touched the ball once and we maintained a lead after that.
Then in the second half one of our girls broke her ankle, and we only had 3 there, so we were down to 5 on the field. I played out the rest of the game in the middle position (because with 5 on 6 the middle has to cover middle link, middle middle and other middle link touches). We scored 2 try and let in 3 in this time, to finish the game 7 all.
This led to a drop off, which should have been good for us - as it meant it was back to 5 on 5. They had the tap and lost the ball. We rucked it up, gained a penalty and then I scored probably the best try of my career, full length dive completely out of the field of play but reaching across and putting the ball down in the field of play before I landed. The girl on the wing called touch although she touched me half a second after I put the ball down. The ref, who hadn't reffed the game but ran over and taken charge when he saw it was a drop off (being an experienced ref) asked her if she touched me, she said yes (which is true, but he should have been watching to see that the ball was down way before the tag) and he paid the touch. Siren went, we went down to 4 on 4 and they scored on us. On the last touch one of our players dived to touch the guy with the ball and knocked himself out.
So we ended up spending 5 hours at the hospital with two team mates, the girl with the broken ankle and the guy with concussion. I've also injured my shoulder, although I have another touch game this Saturday that I'm definitely going to play in (since it's the grand final). We are going in to that game overwhelming favourites, which is lucky because one team won every game for the season except the last one, then lost to us in the first final, then to another team in the second and are knocked out. So they won every game then had a 3 game losing streak. Great for us, cause we're playing a team that doesn't know how to defend or attack (although they are fast runners). Should be gg.
Anyway I am really proud of my mixed team anyway. We improved miles and we fought so hard in the last game. A lot of things conspired against us and I think we did a great job anyway. I can't wait till Saturday so I can start drinking.

Cheers mate
It was an epic game. We were winning 4 vs 0 at half time but ended up winning 5 vs 4. In the last 3 or 4 minutes we changed our structure and just stacked the on field team with our best 6 players and managed to keep them out. I scored 2 and set one up, so that was good, although I let one in as well.
Winning premierships feels soooooo good. It makes all the sacrifice and hardwork worthwhile. Epic times. Like the last episode of BSG, that I watched today. That was epic as well.

BSG? Battlestar Galactica??? Please tell me that's what you meant
:D fucking awesome!!
What do you mean last ep? As far as I know they've only released up to halfway through season 4. Doing it in 2 stages for some reason, probably to get us stooges to buy 2 dvd's instead of the 1. Stingy fucks. You know they're making a prequel? Set on Caprica 50 yrs previous and focuses on two families, one of which is the adamas, including Bill's father. Fkn psyyyyched to see the second half of season 4!!!
If you didn't mean galactica then I presume all of that won't make much sense and will just sound stupid...

Just a friend of mine on facebook, he's also a member of the Socialist Alliance, an organisation that takes gross simplifications and uses them to criticise the government without offering any solutions other than really broad generalisations. For example the solution to climate change is easy - stop using coal and oil. I can't believe nobody else thought of that.

Well the socialist party in France managed to convince the country that working less would eradicate unemployment... we saw where that got us (nowhere).
However, I can name some left-leaning leading economists such as the DSK, the MD of the IMF, so there are some socialists out there that know their stuff

This is just a random comment, but it's so frustrating how religious people will tell me how I should live my life, what the problems of the world are and what I can do to fix them, but as soon as I question the basis of these directions I'm attacking them and what they stand for.
If you're going to put forward opinions about how people should behave in the public domain, you need to expect people to question the basis for these opinions and if you don't like that, don't ask that other people follow your personal values.

lol indeed
So have been playing a fair bit of footbag lately. Just training for comp stuff mainly, but feeling pretty good. Had a great kick with Lotus on Saturday, although he was a little under the weather. We had some Japanese drummers playing right next to us so that was cool.
Getting filmed for the pilot of some kind of talent TV show tonight, so good opportunity to practice my routine for aus champs. Should be fun times.
Read up about the Armenian genocide last night. Terrible. I can't believe that it's not something that was ever taught at my schools, or that I really had any knowledge of at all. Stuff like that should be wide public knowledge, especially given it's where the words "holocaust" and "genocide" come from. Anyway it made a pretty big impact on me, so I felt the need to write something about it, even as small as this paragraph. The remembrance day is coming up (April 24) so hopefully Obama will overturn the disgraceful history of denial from the US, which will lead to the rest of the Western World (who have mainly been just as bad) recognising this for what it was as well.
