Well, I just had a killer session with Mark and D.C. I don't know when I'll have time to put it together, but expect a video soon.
Highlights for me:
Pdx drifter (strong side)
ripwalk b2b
paradon BS (not really a highlight, but kind of big, for me at least)
about the cleanest DLO I've ever hit.
David's card tricks.
The fact that David's skill and talent are surpassed by his advice and how good he is to hang out with.

Now I'm going to crash, go to work, and then drive to Memphis for the Southeastern Net Championship.

My footbag season has officially begun. Yay travel!

Jazz Fest has just wrapped up and it was, of course, a blast. I imagine Jon will write up some detail about it. I'm now in the throws of finals, so I'll let these pics speak for me about it.

So, thanks again, Creel. Jazz Fest was da bomb. Kickin' it there was super-cool, though it was very disappointing that you weren't well. As cool as Jazz Fest was though, the city of New Orleans itself is the real scene-stealer. New Orleans doesn't even need Jazz Fest to be great. That place is definitely one of the coolest places I've ever seen. Holy cow! I've been telling everybody at work about it all week. I've been like "I'm gonna move there!", and they're all like "yeah, didn't you say the same thing about San Francisco a couple years ago?" and I'm like "yeah, but that was before I saw New Orleans!"

It would be kind of mind-boggling to live there, to not even have to leave town to get to Jazz Fest...

Yeah, you should definitely host a tournament there. That would be unbelievable. So much opportunity for fun after hours... fun like it couldn't be found anywhere else I've ever been. And the posse of players you've got there... Mark and Michelle Monistare, Hurricane Andrew, that dude Peter at the Fest... A modest tournament can be done all alone, but I suspect that you've got just enough talent and enthousiasm in your posse to host a really good event. I'd definitely come back for a tournament in New Orleans. I'd encourage anybody else on this continent to go too. Hell, one shouldn't even need an excuse to check it out -- an event would just be the icing on the cake. You've just got to try a little harder to keep the more distant members of the local scene in touch... keep their contact info, call in some favors from 'em.

Hell, kickers shouldn't even need an excuse like a tournament to visit you guys for a shred. With all the music and that party scene, and all the energy down in the French Quarter... everybody should take a vacation there and shred there. I know I'm eager for another visit.

Just, don't sprain your ankle just before I get there next time.

Yes! Very nice stuff, there, Rob. P-torque looked very smooth. When I saw that earlier this week I had just opened up my last Abita Amber and was thinking 'bout ya. Its like I'd opened it up to celebrate with you.

I'm attending the upcoming New Year's Jam, and I'm done with school for now (meh, 2 As and a C), so there's time for footbag again. It's my plan to get great between now and the 27th. Maybe I'll just improve my stepping set. My goals, to be achieved by the end of NYJ: bedwetter and ripwalk 4x.

My session's have been in a gym, and as such they've been mostly drills. I hit like sixty something legovers, probably my longest string ever. I hit Magellan>Smear>Pixie legover rpt., definitely my longest genuine guiltless string ever.

Thanks, Adrienne! Thanks also to the many of you who left me props on facebook and youtube. I'm totally feeling the love.

I was wondering if any of you seasoned veterans out there could advise me on the following: repeat viewings of my link, both forward and in reverse, reveal that my atomics are done very high compared to my mirages. It was my hope that my rewind combo would look more or less the same in rewind, but it clearly does not, not the way Vasek's (or many others') ripwalks are. Is this worth my attention as I train my sets? Or is it something that will evolve naturally as I play so I should just keep playing? Or is it even that big a deal at all?

It's the nature of the trick. Some tricks actually look like rewinds of themselves, while others don't necessarily. With ripwalks they should look very close to a rewind, but with atom smashers and toe blizzards, they don't really. Don't worry about it in this case.
