So back from worlds...WOW, it was amazing

It was awesome meeting so many new people, seeing people I havent seen in a while. Playing good and bad, and partying lots.

Hung out with Stephen Barnes the most. That kid is awesome. It was kinda weird though We talk online all the time but we have only met once, that was css7. Which we hardly even talked or kicked together. This time we where together most of the time. We shared a room and usually found rides together and shit like that. Glad I got to chill with him finally.

Kevin Crowley. Also met him at css7 and didnt chill that much. This time we chilled a bunch at the event site and also hung out when he could get a ride over to terra verde.

Terre Verde was amazing definetly the best hook up at worlds. I hope people can do this at more tournaments, its was like party hopping every night.

I played some good and some bad, Usually played well with Crowley and Henry (who I never got my cream cheese from). I had one really good session where I stepping into a circle with Caro, and some people jumped in and out for about 2 hours, but we remained constant in the circle. I played pretty well and I feel that she did too, but it was also my first time kicking with her.

There was one time where kevin and I came back from eating some food and we wanted to kick and we walked up and kenny shultz was kicking. So we looked at each other and said "lets shred with Kenny Shultz" It was amazing to be kicking with the man who invented most of the concepts i hit.

Other random amazing things

Dave having 3 dropless routines
seeing matt cross hit montage barefoot, then footing it first try barefoot
hitting ripstein 3 times
rorys poopstick
living at the party house
Hanging out with vasek, and helping find his backpack
justins honey liquor
Quantum 02's
Meeting and hanging out with penske so much
stephen barnes
loosing my water bottle, then finding it, then loosing it again
circle with penske, lon, and jorden
Having the harry potter room in the party house
Aaron Orton is the shit
Finally meeting Erik Chan
Having an all Michigan circle at worlds
Hanging out with some of the best intermediate players ever (zeb, kyle, and jake wren)
Meeting the vegas crew
9 square
talking shit with Emily
Watching amazing net
Nick Landes in general
Crowleys routine

Best week of my life

Last night I wend to Ann Arbor. Mike Hollis just moved into his house and is going to school at U of M so him and I will be kicking a lot more.

I met kyle and mike around 3:30 at the flagpole we kicked till about 5 or 5:30 and had a really good session. Mike his chainsaw massacre and some other sweet shit.

I had some really good strings and combos.

pdx torque b2b
blurry whirl b2b > ps whirl
ps whirl b2b > spinning whirl
legbeater > blur > torque bs
mobius bs
some nice blurry torques
some string that was like 70 contacts
bed wetter bs
fog bs
some good looks at a 6>6>6
fs legbeater > pdx torque
gyro mirage > toe whirl > ps whirl bsos
reactor bsos
bed wetter > phoenix > blurry whirl > ps whirl

Then we chilled for a bit and got some potbellys. Then we went to my truck and picked up my tunes. Then had another session for about an hour . Then ended in barefoot stuff till it was almost dark.

in socks:

toe blur bs
slapping legover bs
slapping mirage bs
toe blizzard (off foot on flip)
slapping illusion off foot

It was a really good "club" hang out. Michigan has never really been a club where the members hang out, outside of footbag related things.

Like CIC hangs out all the time, just like playing video games and eating and things like that. Mike and Kyle are really cool outside of footbag, I hope we do this more often.

So it was just Easter, what a better time to res erect my blog.

For those of you who don't know, which is probably most of you. Back in December I broke a rib, that was the start of a lot of injuries. Once my rib got healed I played once or twice before I rolled my ankle and started having me knee hurting.

Then I went to wine and cheese, where I was playing decent till I rolled my bad ankle twice. So that kept me out of the game for a while. Its still a little sore but not too bad. I played on Saturday and again today.

Right after I cracked that rib in December, I also got arrested for driving on a suspended license. 3 weeks ago, I got arrested again for possession of Mary Jane and a pipe. In hind sight I got lucky that's all I got. I didn't have my license or registration and I was coming home from the bar and had had a few drinks.

So now I go to court on the 4th of May to see what my sentencing is. Max sentence is 93 days in jail, but most likely I will just be on probation for a year or two. Also I probably wont be aloud to leave the state. So no tournaments for me for a while. If you want to shred, I have a spot for you to stay if you want to come and visit me.

You may ask why I say this in my blog for anyone to read. Well I realize that it was 100% my fault and I cant blame anyone but myself. Plus some of my friends in footbag are some of my best friends ever. You know which ones you are.

So back to footbag. I'm super rusty and I'm trying to relearn everything and at the same time fix old bad habits.

some highlights from today's session, that got cut short because it started snowing.

spinning blender bsos first try
mobius bsos first try
ripwalk x 16
ducking, spinning, gyro, and diving osis and butterfly all in the same string.
blurry whirl x2
diving osis > spinning blender
drifter > blender > merkon > rpt
food bsos
ps whirl bsos first try

and I finally hit a move I have been trying for at least a year

symposium swirling blender
which I have never seen done before.

I have also been playing lots of disc golf, and I feel like I'm getting pretty good at it. The Amateur National championships are at a local course in June, and I'm currently trying to qualify to compete in it. Still yet to get an ace tho.

I'm going back to school in the summer to finish up my associates degree so that I can transfer to Wayne State in Detroit. My Dad needed some help running his tile business, So that is what I'm doing for work right now. But I am also trying to find another part time job, because I like money and never seem to have enough of it.

That's my life right now, for those of you who read it, Thank you.

Damn dude, sick highlights. Doesn't seem like you're easing into it at all (giggle) but I'm glad your getting back into it. Gotta love the midwest - where footbag sessions get shut down by snow.

I'm going to be very disappointed if you don't have one when you visit.

I don't think I'm going to be able to leave the state due to my probation.

This morning I got a call from my Dad. He was asking me if I still had the paperwork from when we went to get my car out of the impound the day after I got arrested. First of all when we went to the police station to get the release of the information where it was impounded, The cop who arrested me fucked up and never filed the paperwork. So I had to sit around for about 2 hours until they figured out where my truck was. Then we went and picked it up, and I needed him there because the truck is in my Dads name. The call today was telling me about how he got a letter in the mail stating that since we never picked up the truck, they were claiming it as an abandoned vehicle and they are selling it in a police auction.

WTF! I look out the window to see my truck sitting in the driveway.

I think the fat bitch who I paid 80 bones to get my truck out just pocketed the money and never filed the paperwork. So I'm going to try and get a refund since they never did their job.

Played hacky today.

dlo > drifter x7
pdx whirl > ripwalk b2b > pdx whirl > ripwalk b2b > blurry whirl > ripwalk b2b > blurry whirl
flip matador (maybe first time)
ducking clip > ducking osis x 12
pdx whirl > symp whirl bsos (got 3 contacts but couldn't get the rpt)
alpine legbeater bsos
gyro clip x 4 (my record used to be in the 30's)
pdx whirl x 8
barfly bsos (this one is really good for me, my flip barfly sucks)

3 or 4 strings in a row that were solid 20+ unique guiltless

I was working ducking clippers, and doing them Erik Chan style. Like setting and waiting till the bag is head height to start the duck. I used to start to move immediately to duck. It makes it easier and I think more styley. Its hard to explain in words. If you were watching me I could show you the difference.

I also need to stay out of my own head while I'm playing. I get really frustrated that I can't hit moves that I used to be so good at. Or that I will drop on an infinity after a combo. Me getting frustrated only makes me play worse and not have a good time. If you french fry when your supposed to pizza your going to have a bad time.

I'm calling Red Wings VS. Boston Bruins in Stanley Cup Finals if anyone cares.

When you post things like:
Zjeezy wrote:dlo > drifter x7.
Do you mean you hit the combo 7 times, or you hit 7 contacts of the combo? I would interpret what you wrote as 14 contacts, the way it's phrased there. Just wanted to get some clarification.

You would be right in thinking 14 contacts, I interpret the same way.

Played some Fbag a few times this week. One time in the rain. One time while it was hailing a bit.

gyro mirage > whirl >rpt mid string
pdx tap bsos
ducking clip > spin clip > rpt x10
ducking clip > swirl > rpt
Barfly b2b (I'm really proud of this one)
symp whirling symp whirl (full symp whirr)
symp whirling far legover > pixie symp whirl (rewind?)
tripwalk and toe blur both bsos in the same run
pixie ss whirl bsos
pdx drifter > spin osis bsos (almost rpt)
gyro mirage > tap > atom > legbeater > rpt

Red Wings swept the Blue Jackets last night. Sorry Ohio, not really.

Going to Central Michigan University this weekend. I gotta pick up some of my step sisters furniture and bring it back. But I'm also going to see Dimitri Martin live, Can't wait.

Edit.

Full symp whirr is awesome. Props.

Not quite; it'd have to be pixie symp reverse whirl to be a rewind. Cool combo nonetheless.

Pistons looks like they're in trouble. You can just see it in their body language. Right now the best they can hope for is not to get swept. It'll be an interesting off-season for them for sure.

Oh, and Demetri Martin is great. Age took me to see him for my birthday, and he did a solid show. Towards the end of the show though he "took requests" for old jokes of his, which was weird. The funny thing though, is that one audience member kept yelling out "escalators!" He probably didn't realize that that routine was a Mitch Hedburg one... I wonder what Demetri thought of it. Have you seen his "If I?" show? It's on Youtube, and its really good.

Keep playing. I want to visit sometime this summer.
