Heck yeah for both comments.

Went down to Melbourne yesterday for the ANZAC day AFL match between Essendon and Collingwood.

OMG

Best game I have EVER seen let alone been at, it was amazing. Came from behind with 3 goals in the last 5 minutes, scoring the winning goal with FIVE SECONDS TO GO! Was awesome cause at the game you don't know how long there is to go but we knew it was about to end :) Atmosphere was beyond electric, everyone was on their feet for that last play willing him on.... fucking amazing! Best footy I've ever seen!!!!!

Went to Leon's 21st after that, everyone was talking about the game so I got to brag that I was there, hell yeah. Great night, Leon catered with very good beer and even better homebrew, cheers mate, awesome party!

Janis, Olli and I had stayed over so we went and played footbag today for just over an hour. Was good to play with some others, didn't do anything too amazing. 69, Atomic DLO, Atomic Eggbeater, and finally.... FINALLY hit stepping whirl > blurry whirl (rpt). Should have hit that so long ago, thank god it's out of the way.

Woo!

Pushed through crazy cold weather tonight to play for an hour and a half :D It was the best session I've had since I can remember. Worked heaps on form on the following: clipper, butterfly, whirl, ducking/diving, spinning, osis, bubba/pdx illusion. Saw some amazing improvement in a lot of areas especially on flipside. Wow, epic session! Nearly pushed it to 2 hours but am planning on playing tomorrow so thought I'd give the legs a break.

sounds like you're getting right into it, I'm suprised you can't hit bl. drifter>tombstone repeat already, your drifters are sweet.

I unfortunately didn't have such a good football experience at the Raiders match. It rained, it was about 4 degrees, wind of 60km/h and the bulldogs scored 2 tries from forward passes. Not such a great day.

Also, if I could hit any of these "69, Atomic DLO, Atomic Eggbeater" I would not be prefacing my story with "nothing too amazing".

Fair enough. It's my strings that let me down :D but not for long! haha.

My flip drifter is surprisingly weak actually :( I'm working on all that other shit first then I'll get back to drifter then that drill is mine

Yeah they're a good bag. Mine never really broke in that much but I use it all the time as a training bag. Have to have flat stalling surface or it rolls off :D I've had mine for ages though, dunno what her style is like now.

So USA was pretty sweet. Got to play with Stanford crew, Emily Coolchick (That's my phonetic spelling) and a guy Tim I didn't know previously, and Evan Gatesman Jeff Overbo and Loren Baum in Vegas. All good sessions, had a lot of fun. Thanks to Emily esp for making the effort in to shred, Goldberg for showing me round his epic place, letting me touch footbag.org and the 'shit' pizza, Evan for driving me round and especially Brian for driving me so far and back again in SF! Much appreciate, was great trip and great to meet and shred with you all.

Planning to play again friday night but we'll see...

Whoops, no photos.

Well obviously long hiatus. For the usual reason, got a GF and footbag went by the wayside :D Wish I had been playing more but the girl and life in general are amazing...

Had the inaugural Bendigo Jam couple weeks ago. Played 3 nights during the week in the lead up, unbelievably unfit and out of form! The worst I've ever been... how painful. Managed to chip a fair bit of rust off before the weekend though so that was good. By the weekend I was good to play long sessions thank goodness :) Awesome weekend, had the best fun. Did an awesome tour of a cidery and a brewery... really good day, really tasty drinks.

Was pretty busy after that but got a session in today... felt really good to just drill some basics and see some improvement. Played for an hour. Randomly hit pdx barrage BS which was cool, never done that before. Also figured out how to ATW properly (no, you're not reading things, I actually did) which is cool, and did DATW in-out for the first time, yay. Will be good to get some DATW's down pat so I can bust them out midstring... mix it up a bit. Also need some toe variety... in that vein I also made some good improvements on my fairy set. Very much looking forward to having this down.

Now the hard part... try try TRY to play on a regular basis :( At least the weather is nice now, although soon it will be ridiculously hot.

About to go for a walk carrying a heavy backpack with Dad in training for our hiking trip in March. I hate walking, it feels like such a waste of time. Talk about the slowest method of exercise ever... but I need to build up the strength to carry a heavy backpack for 6-7 days. The trip will be worth it.

Also DJing a bit again which is good.

You had me at hello.

pretty sure there are numerous studies showing that walking and running will actually give you the same exercise benefit (of course depending on the way you walk, how far, blah blah)

Thanks for putting on Bendigo, it would have been a sweeter time for me had I had more time to kick (as it turns out I spent close to 20 hours traveling and 3 hours kicking. Not such a good equation!)

Hm, sounds strange. It does ring a bell though. Seems so counter intuitive though... Is it the same distance = the same exercise benefits? Same time surely not, you are expending so much more energy running.

Yeah meant to say sorry I didn't get to say goodbye... was a great weekend, thanks for making the trip down!

I haven't actually reay any of these studies :P , but I have definitely heard mention of it from a few different people. It would definitely be for the same distance- here's a website that came up in a google search. http://www.straightdope.com/columns/rea ... an-walking

I meant to stick around a few more hours, but I saw that there was a train coming in 30 mins, and thought I could beat the rain (I didn't). I'm going to be in Melbourne sometime next month, we should hang out again. Altough it will probably be during the week, so that won't work.
