What would a planting osis be called ? If I set it from clipper its pretty much an osis done with the exception being that the clipper leg is planted once the bag lands.

I've heard it called both ankle breaker and rooted osis and I've hit it pixie, ducking, far/paradox and I'm fairly close to spinning and pimpy set.

Help?

rooted osis would be a good way to name it, in a technical sense.

rooted osis > walkover is a good combo.

Yeah I hit that. I think it's kinda styley to do said trick (rooted osis)>walkover>inside pixie set.

Thanks Matt.

So the trick is essentially a toe ripwalk/quantum butterfly. The only difference is it specifically states planting the dex foot and in instructional videos they plant the dex foot. I can only hit it starting on the left foot ending on right so set left and start like a mirage with right leg dexing in to out, and keeping right foot up dex out to in with left and clipper right. I believe the jobs notation would be set>op in (no plant while)>op out>op clip. So symposium miraging butterfly? Also how many adds would this be I guess 4 since it is essentially a butterfly with an extra dex, or does the fact that I do not plant affect this.

If it's all downtime you're hitting Dada Curve. If you have an actual set, it would be Backside Tripwalk. Video will help clarify this even more.

what trick is this

Post by maverick-morley »

i was messing about doing clippers and i did this move, wanted to know what it was.

it started with left inside stall>ss clipper>pickup

so from clipper on my left foot i set waist high, and my support leg goes from in>out and stalls on same toe.

what is this and how many adds is it?

Well it's three different tricks linked together:
1) an inside stall
2) a same foot clipper
3) a far pickup (the move you're meaning to ask about, which is 2 adds)

Outside pixie has no name (which is stupid because why name inside fairy?) so the trick would be outside pixie muted ss guay. Really cool trick.

Whirl to rake. Is that a specific trick?

Post by bridbeun »

Is a whirl to a rake a specific trick or is it just another way to come out of a whirl?

hehe, I'm 28 and I do that every day to a painful degree, so no worries...

to be clear, a whirl ending on clipper followed by a rake is two separate moves.

a whirl dex and then a rake with no stall between the dex and the rake is one move, whirling rake.

Yes! Thanks again Matt for the clarification. Plus I just hit whirling rake yesterday for the first time. I'm still schooling the basics, but my strings are really coming along nicely. Plus no aches or pains in this middle aged body. :) Now if I could only find more folks to kick with.
