Quantum 02, Quantum 03, or Rod Lavers.
Quantum 02, Quantum 03, or Rod Lavers.
If I had a choice of any shoes of these, which should I choose? Money is not an issue here, i'm fucking loaded guys. I'm kind of a big important man. anyways, which of these is generally the best footbag shoe? right now I use the G-Units, and they are decent but I feel that there is better shoes.
Also, Quantums do not require any modding, do they?

I would say Q2's. If you can find them.
I agree with Matt.
Also, if you already have G-Units you might be even more disappointed in other shoes. G-Units make everything the easiest. Generally.

Yeah, like Zac said you're going to be in a lot of disappointed sessions if you want to transition into another shoe(s) outside of your G-units. Especially for your clipper form.
I think if you truly want to make the switch, go with leather Rod Lavers or Nastases with the same shoe design. At least you'll get the gap that comes from modding out the leather minus the clipper rail that the G-unit has.
Quantums die quickly, so if you're hard on your landings it's not worth the money.

you can't suggest q2's and agree with me
except about the liking part. you must have meant that.
I agree with waylon's assessment about LEATHER lavers and LEATHER nastases providing similar "buckets" to g-units. However, I don't think these buckets are good for gameplay. My preference is for MESH (or in my personal case, Twill, which performs exactly the same as Mesh) lavers. I've made a modification tutorial video; if you search youtube for "matt cross laver", it should be the first thing that comes up.
That way, you can take a look at a set of modified lavers, and decide for yourself that they are definitely the best choice.

CL: Basics and the strenghtening of them
Ehh, I switched to mesh Lavers (from Quantums) so I can't argue for the leather variant of the Rod Laver/Nastase.
However, Matt, by basing that conclusion on the "buckets" for "leather Lavers" and "leather Nastases" also defeats the use of ever playing in G-units, which in many ways a lot of players today still use and still enjoy. A lot of great players for that matter. I'm only speaking in the case of transition, but whether "form" is a factor for a discussion on shoe selection is already obvious, has already been brought up in other topics, or has yet to be brought "to the table" for this topic. I've only introduced an appropriate medium that would make the transition from G-units to other shoe forms a comfortable possibility.
But hey, I'm not the type to impose on people of what to choose. Play with what you feel is best for you is my philosophy. TC, if you got money to spend, be a big spender and try whatever you see fits.

I've stopped buying things from the WFA and probably never will again because of their refusal to sell footbags to my friend Lotus because he sells Pakistan made footbags. Lotus is one of the best promoters of footbag that I know of (in the world) and he's worked really hard to providing genuinely playable cheap footbags - which is very helpful for promoting the sport. If the WFA want to deal with him and continue to complain about the totally bogus copyright of the 32 panel footbag design (I say bogus because the design is far older than the sport of footbag and been used for mini soccer balls for longer than the sport of footbag. The only 'innovation' that came with the design was doing the exact same thing other people were doing but labelling the balls 'footbags.') then they're not going to get my support at all.

Definately the Quantum 3 but they are extinct. If you find any size 11 then I will buy them for $90
Lqavers are best in blue and must be all mesh. $60
G-units also great but extinct and $110
Nucleus might be best at $80
I highly suggest 1 of each and then sell the ones you don't like to other footbag players.
Please PM me if you find any of those shoes I mentioned in size 11
I will buy them.
