THEN...

Produce your own original footbag video & send it in to become a part of this year's Worlds Video Contest! You can enter even if you can't personally attend.
The video contest is going to be held at a beautiful former cinema, that has been redone as a club, and reopens its doors for us as a cinema: The LIDO. Of course the screening will be followed by a party.

Show us your original footbag video - something we haven't seen before: be it a nice plot, amazing camera work, historical footbag footage, amazing skills - you name it.

Please also be sure to follow the technical requirements listed online

Information on the Video Contest is also to be found at www.footbag.org/worlds2009/ in the players section > video contest.

Here is the place to ask questions regarding the video contest!

______

Technical Requirements

Maximum length: 6 mins.

There will be an HD projection! Ensure maximum quality - HD videos are highly appreciated - absolute Minimum resolution 640x480

Minimum: 25 frames per second

Please use a high encoding rate (e.g. 4mbps VBR) for good picture quality

To submit your video, contact me (maxATfcfootstarDOTde) - digital file submission will be preferred to ensure early & uncomplicated preparation of the contest. also, mini dv or hdv tapes are accepted to be handed in at the worlds registration desk.

As organisers, we reserve the right to refuse any film - also if there are too many films sent in, we reserve the right to only show a selection

More information soon to follow.

________

also if you have only seen the trailer for the video contest above, don't forget to check out, comment and rate the official worlds trailer: here is the thread, here are the links to youtube and vimeo

you actually don't need a super high speed computer. on most computers, you just need to wait to let the whole video load, and THEN watch it (meaning click play, click pause, and then click play again when its fully loaded). for most people it plays smoothly then, unless your computer is REALLY old.

the reason i say it is that it really changes the viewing experience. because on the web, videos normally are little pixel-carpets, insteasd of acceptable sd resolutions like on tv.
________

thanks for saying you didn't like it. great! :? care to elaborate? maybe you'll manage if you watch it when you're sober.

________
thanks erik. :)

Great video Max, interesting to see the behind-the-scenes setup.
Did you use a RedCode camera? - Hope to get time for my own contribution to the video contest.

a RED would have been nice, but we had to go with lower-scale hardware. the camera was a sony exxdcam - ex1, with a 35mm adapter and photo lenses.. and all was shot in 720p50. which felt already luxurios compared to other stuff.

but you're the second person to ask whether we shot on RED, which feels like a compliment. 8)

also, i wanted to write you anyways personally to invite you to contribute for the video contest - it feels like you beat me to it now by saying you are trying to. it would be great to have a clip of yours, so feel encouraged to find the time to do something :)

It was so nice to see all that flashy equiptment involved in a footbag production.

Whats the song?
