i was watching a video of my friend figure skate and the first thing i thought of was put this on land and a hacky sack by her and those are some amazing dexs what i am getting at is
a) do any of you figure skate
b) have you found that it has helped you in footbag
i personally think that figure skating might provide a solid foundation for footbag if you started by no means is she gling to the olympics but i will try to post a video if i can post your thought below
Cross Trainings
Although I've only been ice skating like once in my life, I have played a lot of different sports and continue to do so. I find that apart from helping fitness, playing other sports, even ones that require good feet co-ordination, don't have a significant impact on footbag ability at all. The hard part of footbag is building the muscles and control, and especially the muscle memory for the footbag moves. The only way to do this is by actually playing footbag. Unless you're noticeably unfit, I doubt that there are any activities that would help your game more than spending that time playing footbag.
That said, the stuff Kljopa said about yoga and those kinds of activities might be helpful - I don't really know. Nor do I really know about ice skating, it just seems unlikely that it's particularly helpful. Perhaps it would help your game more than doing nothing at all, but surely less than just doing normal footbag training.
I do find that footbag appears to have some impact on my skills in other sports though, although it's hard to judge. I think it's definitely had a big impact on how well I can "step" (pretend to run one way and then run another) in Aussie rules football and touch football and I think it may have had an impact on my kicking skills as well. That said, I bet if I spent a few years practising those skills instead of practising footbag then I'm sure they'd be even better.
It's nice that the three sports I play improve each other, but that's certainly just a bonus and if I only played one I'm sure I'd be more successful at it.

Not sure if this will quite apply, but at least, within my kicking circle, we do occasionally break off into something else, like timed runs over the same distance, or swap the bag for a football and go with that. Although I dont tell them (they perhaps dont take this as seriously as I do) I do it because i see them as team building and stamina building excersises. If nothing else, i would have thought some kind of cross training would be useful for that alone.
Ive not been playing footbag for long but I can tell that my general stamina is suffering (too many hours sat at a desk eating whatever comes conviniently wrapped has taken its toll
) so ive taken up jogging. Of course, all of this is completely pointless as at the moment I smoke 20 a day (at least. Again, downside of the job, especially as i work from home)
