Get the camera closer. I felt like the whole time I had to really try to see you and the bag and you had half the screen taken up by concrete. I know it's hard to gauge this at first, so put your bag on the ground and then adjust the camera so that the bag is toward the bottom of the frame before shooting. Take a test shoot and adjust accordingly.

As far as the shred goes, you've got some decent concepts down, but you you're in a weird place that everyone hates. "The Almost-Guiltless Zone" haha. I was there for a few months. I wanted to be guiltless at the end of my first year but it took a little longer, and I'm glad I was patient. Here's some stuff that might help, sorry if it's a bit unorganized.

I'd rather see 20 contacts of unique-ish tiltless (with no 3s) than watching you do infinities over and over with a couple 2s. This means hitting stuff like legover>mirage>illusion>(rpt)>clipper>ss legover>op clipper>ss legover>op clpper>ss pickup>op clipper>ss pickup>now start throwing in 3s like infinity>osis>pdx mirage>butter>whirl. Basically just having total control of the bag for 15-20 contacts.

Don't stop drilling consecutive clippers, and clipper>op clipper rpt. Do that drill every other session or so. You should be getting at least 30 contacts of each of those drills. You can hang up the drill when you get 50 each side.

Include 1 or 2 good bop strings just for reference in the video, and leave it at that. This vid could've been cut down a lot. That said, 22 Infinities! You have that move on lock, good job. It's a very important move. The same side butters looked excellent.

Your osis needs some work, but it's a tough move to master. You need to slow that move down by really dipping and turning your body more. Right now you're using mostly your leg to scoop the bag across the back of your body. You need to really use more of your body and turn into that move to get position for a good clipper at the end.

The whirls looked good. The first two were a little jumpy, the 3rd one was textbook. Get them down on your flip.

Pixies looked okay...That's another tough one to master. You want to get it to where your leg is moving as little as possible, but the bag is still going under the calf. It just takes practice. But try to make those pixies smaller. My pixies were ugly as hell my first year. Start schooling that flip pixie. And try every variation on it's own. Pixie Legover, Pixie SS Legover, Mirage, Illusion, Pickup, Butter, SS Butter. And then eventually stringing some of those moves together.

School Drifters.

Spin. Work on spinning and/or gyro. Very important concept. Spinning Clipper, Spinning Butter, Gyro Mirage are your friends.

Duck more. Get ducking clipper dialed to where you can do like 4 or 5 in a row or more, Get ducking pdx mirage dialed, Get Diving pretty well. Your goal is to eventually be able to hit diving clipper>ducking clipper>rpt, and ducking pdx mirage>butter>rpt fairly easily.

Here's some other concepts and drills you may want to give a shot once in a while, maybe at the end of your sessions Again, don't let them dominate the session. Spend no more than 10-15 minutes per session total on this:

Atomic Set
Quantum Set
Dyno
Torque
Paradon <--- This is a really good one to get down during this time in your game, it's not that hard either.

Butter>Blur>Rpt
Butter>Pdx Illusion>Rpt
Ripwalk>Blur
Ripwalk>Ripwalk

That's it, good luck.

The biggest piece of advice that I think I could give you would be to loose the g-units and get some lavers.

Edit: Oh and the not-hopping on your left clipper, especially from a hand toss, cure that right away. Drill Drill Drill. Try to keep the palm of your right hand pointed down while you play.

biggest things i see to be fixed:

-arms.... turn your hands down always. focus on it till its natural.
-cushion more for clipper with the support leg as well as the catch foot... it should happen at the same time. watch david c's clipper tutorial, its incredibly helpful.
-i agree with shredzilla... master the basics more, especially flip. go for 100 tiltless. ( im a hypocrite though, my basics suck.)
-i also agree with abe... learn in lavers, the surfaces/forced form is much better.

good luck man, you really are actually doing great for a year. dont give up, the longer you play and beter you get, the more fun! to me at least =]

Good job for one year! I think you're doing great, and props on having the guts posting a video on this super criticizing forum :)

- Cale said 100 titless but I say, forget the tiltless, and think 'contacts'. Throw in your practice a high contacts run. "High" depends on you. Could be 30, could be 50, could be more. But should be both challenging and achievable within your ability+stamina - and don't be ashamed to take a breather or gain back control with stalls.

- Don't look so frowny when you drop, aim at having more fun. I know it's harder when the camera's on for some reason, but I think that when you play (and drop) with a smile, both you and the viewers get more out of it.

I think you should use the sneaker that fits. If you have wide feet avoid Lavers like the plague (imo)

Your game has progressed well since I saw you kick at Funtastiks.

I recommend schooling a variety of different tiltless drills in sets of ten, and then working them up to 100. From there, either use them in strings of 50+ or shoot for consecutives of that number. 100 is hard. Even if you know the trick. 50 is more manageable, and once it has been done once you are more inclined to recreate it. Each time you go back and hit 20-50 of a trick in a row you will learn several new ways to improve it.

How are your atws (both sides and directions)?

Chris-The camera problem is kinda a pain, Im using a digital camera and I dont have a tri-pod, its very hard to achieve a good angle for a shot. As for the "guiltless" I know what you mean, but im really not trying to play with just 3s... Its just, the last 20 or so, sessions I had all I worked on was Pdx Mirage and Infinities, and I kinda got obsessed with them. Since all I do is practice them, Im very out of practice in my basics, and thats something I need to change. Thanx a ton for pointing it out brotha.

Abe-I know the G-units seem to be the "evil footbag shoe", but its whatever, Im ordering a new pair of Lavers soon. And maybe the Nucleus will be good for the future. As for the hop on the flip clipper, I know, I hate it... For some reason I just dont hop, bad habbit I need to fix.

Cale-I had a session today were I made sure my hands were more relaxed, I watched my vid a couple more times and noticed my hands to face up a lot, but I think my arms are decently placed. My style isnt that bad, eh? I will be drilling clippers a lot more now, I want to achieve perfect style on them, and to me, Tri-Force Drill up to 10 contacts is a lot cooler than 50 infinities... Thanx for leaving that drill in my challenges section bud.

Poison-Thanx for the "good job", 1 positive comment isnt too bad. Hehe. I will start drilling my basic 2s from now on till I can hit longer strings, and I totally know what you mean about stamina. As for the "frowny", i was actually just shrugging most of the time, as in "I guess thats good for me"... Ya know?

Jordan-Thanx man, and I hope we can shred soon also.

Ian-Hey man, I didnt even remember playing with you at funtastiks, but thats awesome. Anywho, I know what ive been doing wrong, and I plan to improve it!

So, I found my old lavers last night, I havent played in them in probably 10 months, and It was extremely hard for me to play in them. I kinda had to get used to them again, since they are so much different than units. I will be buying a new pair of Lavers soon, so I can have my toe walls. I made a short vid in the last 10 min of my session, nothing new... Just trying to show you guys how I play in my lavers. Btw, the Pheonix was just for shits and giggles. The last run was consecutive (flip) ss clippers, to show if there has been any improvement on hop and difference in lavers. Enjoy :D

you were getting the clippers right at the very end. The first pixie looked like it was around the shoe, not the calf. make sure to hop into your legovers as well.

I thought you looked a lot better in lavers, but wear whatever you're comfortable with.

When trying or practicing to get the hop with lefty clippers, maybe try over-accentuating the hop. Do that maybe until the hop is natural.

Good luck!

I've learned the hop on my left clipper, but now I need to focus more on stalling the bag, as Will Digges told me.

Practice. Practice. Practice.

Please leave comments on my shred, I wana know what I need to work on.

First of good job.
1st video- you addressed pretty much everything i was going to say ( frowning, camera proximity) a little more variety you certainly look capable of throwing in some spinning clippers or ducking clippers

2nd video- you looked more composed and in a little bit more control. there was a difference from the 1st video to 2nd. i used to have the same problem with my clippers but it is easier when you stall the bag slighty more

I think you need to work more on your frowning. You need to frown MORE. Otherwise, people that are jaded with society and longing for things that are dark and depressing wont pick up on what you're doing, and let's face it, it's not the winners that gravitate towards footbag.

Other than that, I'd say work a little on your grimacing. Try to maximize the arch in the corners of your upper lip so that it's confusing to those watching if you're even frowning. That will intrigue them more and want to engage you further.

Don't listen to Chris, he's trying to recruit you to the dark side of footbag!

Just look at his avatar, all too obvious he's where the cookies are.

That's definitely an improvement. The first hand tossed lefty one had me a tad worried for a second but the rest were much better
