worst tamtam ever for me

nothing worked, then my left ankle started to hurt a lot (the one that was'nt injured) so I had 2 ankles hurting.

Then I got in a bad mood, and it was all downhill.

I need to smile more, forget about the bad things even if that's all there is. the last montreality video really shows me on a bad day and I am not impressed by how I look when I feel like that.

positive notes of the day: hit some nice flip pixie whirls (deep whirls) and dellusion first try

first shred in a week because of ankle

pdx whirl still hurts, but ps whirl does`nt, there is defenetly something wrong with my pdx whirl technique. Whirl itself seems ok.

first hour of shred was terrible, a huge crowd protesting against war in Iran scattered around the tamtam and ruining it's cool atmosphere.

They had huge speakers too, and messed the charming sound of tamtam for over an hour.

Once they left, about at the same time that Augustin arrived ! First shred with my favorite frenchie in a year! Things got serious.

I think I played pretty well, did'nt use many sets, lots of dexless, and spins and ducs.

some highlights:

couple of 5-5-5`s with ps whirls in there

footed montage every 2-3 tries

close to hit colossus

spinnig reaper first try, take that!

good attempt to void-vertigo

pdx torque bsos first try, feels good again!

well still only 2 sess in the past 3 weeks

was gona play tonight for a long time, but after over an hour of working on atomics and stepping with somewhat some start of results, it starting raining..

Disapointing since I've been putting all my time in my new house lately (getting insurance, mortgage, and so on) and now that I have 2 days with some free time it rains all day :(

My step flipside was doing good, nice sets, even step ss dyno pretty deep

then I somewhat lost it, and it started raining before I could pinpoint what I was doing so well fora moment

So unprepared for worlds, at least it will be loads of fun :D 14 days!

1 hour session between 2 rain period

wanted to hit most of my big tricks on cam, but ended up that I'm not 100% anymore and it was too hard, it rained again after 1hour.

Hit a cool combo tough : step ss dyno - motion - ps whirl - run

my last tamtam for a month

played with Antoine Noel for the first time, this guy is from a long time ago! Was fun, and I played really well by only sticking to the tricks I master well.

Guess what, I don't recall dropping a flip pdxwhirl today! Getting better and better.

ps whirl getting pretty good, I still can't do much out of it, but it's a good success ratio now.

footed void - ps whirl.. can't wait to hit that !

routine went bad
I think I still did an ok artistic job other then the drops, but one judge put me very last, and that is a slap in the face, I think I build a nice routine and got many comments from it, so perhaps bad judging or something I would like to know that I never will.

Would'nt mather on result at all, but it was a hard hit.

I shredded after and all was forgotten when I hit a dream move: Collossus!!!

Also played a second session after routines, was'nt too good for runs, but combos where ON.
Mobius - reaper first try, pretty close to fairy rev swirl - pdx egg
flip pdx egg feeling good.

spinning reaper first try on couple of occasions, nice to have a crazy unique trick on command at worlds :D, will need to school it more for super consistency.

short highlights from my last montreal shred (1 month ago)
http://www.footbag.org/gallery/show/17161

I realise I haven't played much in the last 3 months, nowhere near my top shape.

This week was 0 shed besides some kicking while breaks at work.

Next week will be back on the track, I need to get playing and set up a good program monday to friday. For weekends it all depends what I do with my girlfried, but distance is becoming an issue since I'm out of town.

More videos will come

first session in my basement

need to move things around, did'nt play for too long. about 20 minutes only.

I need to find an outdoor spot, by next week I will have as much free time as I need, I just bought a pool and finished building it, it will finish filling up tomorrow, will be great after shred.

Maybe going to montreal this weekend, if I do I will shred at least 4 hours on sunday.

playing about 30 mins a day this week, no big sessions so far since worlds

today I messed around with symple legovers, I suck at them and this needs to be easy.

ss symple legover - symple legover - rpt

gyro symple legover bs
spin symple legover bs
pixie symple legover b2b

also hit my first symple pickup bs

no big trick, but I did foot a few pdx grifters on one side, but I still have more basics to school to hit such a trick with ease.

stepping, guess what, it sucks and I hate it, I still learn new stuff every time I try it, but then again, finding a bunch of details and no result, will I give up one day?

good session with Alex Faber and Francois this afternoon

Many good strings (around 20 contacts)

also started a run with mobius - motion - ps whirl including also bsos mobius and more stuff..

dyno - pdx egg on one side, footed other side, I tought about this combo on my way to montreal and then Alex hit it in front of me, so I had to go for it as well :D

first real sess in Joliette
1 hour
downtown

It's super nice and I got a great spot (just that it's not 100% flat)

Improvements on flip pixie ss whirl, not missing all like before, getting efficient.

Also a cool combo, hit midtring : dlo - ss drifter - gyro whirl

I also started a music and improvised a routine, in 1 minute I had 1 drop, and hit on music : symp whirl, ps whirl, gyro dlo, mobius, motion, tomahawk and some other stuff, it felt great.

worked on more pixie whirl pixie ss whirl and symple legovers

clip - near symple legover - ss clip - far symple legover - rpt - 8 contacts (I used to be unable to do clip set ss symple legover, this will help flip pdx dlo I guess!

pixie whilr - pdx drifter bs
and pixie ss whirl - pdx drifter bs

and new trick : blurry rev whirl and far symp rev whirl

backyard shred, in lavers (wow such a long time and I sucked)

diving symple legover bs
ducking symply legover bsos
pogo ripwalk bsos

trying to change basic components, finding new ways to hit clippers and toe stalls, it`s so hard to change, maybe I`ll give up but I`m still having fun trying easy things.

I don`t know why but I would love to play with Seb lately, it`s been a while. Too bad he`s still injured.

first park session

did'nt play for too long (rain, about 40 minutes)

Messing arround with pogo sets, pogo ripwalk bsos and midstring, I like it.

Finished with a sweet run, but then it was raining too hard, but one of those where you catch the bag and feel proud :D

had fun experimenting more pogo

then I almost hit flip pogo blur (it`s like impossible for me)

and when this hapenned, I understood how to fix one of my biggest mistakes. I was unable to set correctly and this was killing me (the bag was set in an outside curve instead of inside)

So I kind of figured a way to change clipper set to fix this when trying to step, and it worked. That pogo blur attempt showed me the way. It was hard to repeat but I suceeded to do it again many times, also helped for pogo sets and strong steps as well

After 1 hour, I hit some stuff I hit before, but in way less attempts with steps

also finally hit that flip pogo blur :D

Don't know if this tip I found will help me forever (many things I tought where THE thing ended up not working so well) but this seems promessing.

Also had fun doing weird butterflys, like way too lazy (ending even in walkovers)

forgot from last session :
a run with ripwalk out of pdx whirl and barlfy

today: 40 mins shred *only because of damn bee`s in my backyard, it was hell. Then I went to swim and a shitload came in my pool as well! it was a bee graveyard. I took them all away and every time I turned around there was more dead bee`s in the pool .. ugh..

shredwise:
atomic ss rev whirl
atomic rev whirl
fairy rev whirl
fairy ss rev whirl
pixie rev whirl
pixie ss rev whirl
step ss revwhirl
gyro rev whirl
spinning rev whirl

a run wit both pixies, ss fairy rev whirl
a run with blury rev whirl, step ss rev whirl, and pixie rev whirl

played a bit routine-esque tunes, messing around with dlo`s and symple legovers

I think I can now incorporate rev whirl tricks, I've hit most of these for the first time within 1 or 2 attempts (besides atomic and step ss which I footed tons of times)

steps felt good again with new technique, but did'nt overkill them, only a few and I was happy enough, worked mostly on rev whirls and symple legovers

by the way, I can't flip rev whirl :( or barely, hiting one takes many tries.

also tried a new flip paradon / barfly technique
going for an illusion for first dex, and it did wonders, felt some good flip paradons, and some up and comming barfly`s.. so far I was just wanking my leg around and hoping it worked, or went for a double switch bailed to clipper.

dude why doesnt anyone ever write in your blog? ill try to post more in it to spice it up!

in regards to the new double down style. I just started to get my flipside double down's down, something that helped me was starting the infront of or a little past my support leg (which might be what you mean by illusion style).

reading your blog isnpired me to start doing symple legovers and pickups. There lots of fun, and I feel like they are really stylie

thanks for the input!

this morning : 1 hour park session

mostly working on cardio, so going for rough and demanding combos one after the other, I was so out of breath, also lacked water :/

I hit all my rev whil tricks except atomics, after 5 tries I decided to not hit those today

all others where hit within 3 tries or less

new combo : gyro whirl - ripwalk
new stepping method doing good so far and still not overusing it, going slow and working on trusting my abilities

ended up working on ducking clip - spin whirl - rpt, could'nt do it, but got close many times, starting from any trick...

here are some highlights on video
