Right now im working on getting the canvas under the toebox out. So far ive seperated the two layers; im able to stick my fingers in between the two and everything. Im up to this step:

All i have to do is now actually remove the second layer from the shoe, so only the mesh is left. My scissors arent cutting through it. Any tips on how to cut it out? Any help wud be appreciated.

score it with a razor blade very carefully, then u can peel the fabric off a bit and cut down the middle w/ the scissors. After that you just have to cut it away from the edge and you'll be done.

il try cutting it down the middle with the scissors...ive been trying to cut around the sides maybe thats why im having a hard time.

First soak the shoes in hot water. This will dissolve the glue holding the canvas to the mesh.

Then, notice that the canvas (like all canvas) is just a series of stitches? Well, take some small pointy scissors, or a sharp pointed razor blade, and 'pick' at those stitches(Cut them), until you get a big enough hole in the canvas.

Then use your finger, a screwdriver, I prefer fork, and slide it in there to separate the fabrics. You should be able to start actually cutting the canvas away at this point. Now just keep cutting, and separating til it's all off.

Best to start with the inside, not the toe because the toe is so freakin hard, and you could use the inside for good practice.

I just did the toe mod 20 minutes ago. My first toe came out sloppy, but I learned what to do during the second toe. When you are cutting the first cut going across, cut ALL the way across horizontally. After that, you want to bend the tonge in a way so that you can cut about an inch (maybe a little less) down vertically down the side, making kind of a 90% angle. After this, you should be able to seperate the two layers using a DULL pencil or something. Once the glue is seperated, the canvas should be kinda hanging down. What I did form here is reached to the very end of the shoes "edge" and made grooves with my knife, kinda like an outline and slowly tore away the canvas using some plyers (acuatly ripping it out).

Bump for great justice. Bander's technique for the toe sounds great, I think I'll start doing it that way. The toe canvas is always a bitch for me.
