I've been playing pretty consistently lately. Each day, my game trancends to a new level. When I first started footbag I felt that most of the moves were impossible. Watching scorpions tail made me feel sick to my stomach as double around the world felt so far away to me. A few years ago I felt many moves were possible for me, but some were only allowed for people of czech genetics, namely vasek, honza and ales. About a year ago, I felt every move was possible if only I put manyhours into them. Within these last three months, I have progressed more than within my entire nine years of playing footbag. Now I just don't feel all the moves and combos are possible, I'm actually executing them and at what I feel is an incredible rate.
Highlights:
Scorpions tail- moderately easy
Vortex- easy
gyro double- easy
gyro barrage- easy (I hit seven of them alternating sides in one run)
toe flurry- difficult, but bsosed it and know it will become easy.
blurriest>blurriest
blurriest> spinning whirl> scorpion
whirling swirl- easy
furious set- progressing rapidly
vortex> flurry- both sides several times
swirl- 15 strong 8 weak
For the past two weeks I have succesfully managed to hit a new move or combo every day I've played.
P torque- moderately easy
mobious- moderately easy
ps whirl- progressing rapidly
"the drill"- look out!
Well, that is all I can think of off hand. I'm going to go have a short session.
soon, but i did hit your challenge tonight in my short session. I even did the eggbeaters with out the plant like you were thinking i think.

Two knights, each adorned with their respective elements, cast a glance at one another. The knight from the far north, where the waters are cold and bears scar the chest with their claws, grasps a satchel of earth. The knight from the great city, where the drink marks your past and your will sculpts your future, holds two flint-stones in anticipation to start the flame. Wilma and Barney watch terrified from a distance. The knight from the north begins to speak. His voice vibrates across the dock, which serves as our scenery. "I Zacharias Z'Jeeziest, servant to the Redwing Clan, come forth today to quest to save the fair maiden, Reidetha the Beautiful from the Dragon Master Nicholas Can of Coins Landish. Those that stand in my way shall face my blade and magic."
Unfazed by such words, the night from the Great City showing no emotion delivers his purpose. "I Nathanicus Anderalterpersonacus, representative of the Magic Gathering Mages, also am present for the purpose of rescuing the soft skinned beauty Reidetha the Beautiful. I have no fear of your blade nor magic Northern one, for I have with me the great cards, capable of summoning the great netherworld beast Griptits."
This angers Zacharias. "You vile mushroom maggot, I have no fear of you. I have trained and mastered the art of Footcie. Prepare to die."
Nathanicus is unmoved. "Fool, I too have mastered Footcie. I hope you have prepared your coffin."
The two began to battle. Swords clashed and sparks flew. Each knight showed great vigor, valor and an extensive array of maneuvers, but neither would yield. Unnoticed by the two men at arms, a small vessel arrived and docked at port. A tiny bearded figure draped in black pony leather stepped off the vessel and made his way to all the commotion. He was a jolly fellow who pranced his way. Each stride reflected his joy. Bifocals adorned his face and through them he contemplated the situation while stroking his face. Finally, a finger was raised and he conjectured to the clashing men, "Gentleman, You do not need to harm each other. Be Merry. This quarrel is not truly necessary." His plea was ignored and the two men continued their dispute. The gentleman pondered once more, and again he raised his finger in epiphany. Hurling himself over the edge of the dock the Gentleman began to splash and churn the water. "Oh dear... Help! I can't swim! If only there was some selfless hero to rescue me. Perhaps a Knight? Oh, but there is not. Woe is me. Oh the Agony!!"
The attention of the two young Knight suddenly averted to the Struggling Boatman, and both flung themselves into the water to rescue him. The Boatman then stopped struggling and executed a perfect front crawl to his vessel and climbed aboard. Feeling deceived the Knights followed the man onto his craft.
"What is the Meaning of this trickery old man?" Nathanicus asked.
"My garment is moist without due cause because of you. You shall pay with your life,â€

I received word via telephone that my brother had arrived with the precious cargo of cheese, wine, smoked salmon, and my footbag buddies Nathan and Zach. At that moment I was engaged in a social gathering amongst my professional peers. My work was having a "bake-off". I had jam-packed myself with pastries and sweets, and was now ready to go. The timing of the call was perfect. I have always followed my father’s dictum to "not leave your guests waiting", so I told them to park the car in Urbana and I would soon be on my way. I made a decorous leave from my co-workers, and headed towards where I told them to meet me. Excitement filled me. It had been quite long since I saw Nathan or Zach... and my brother as well. I had composed a heart-felt missive for my friends, but I decided not to read it to them.
I passed by a few mendicants on the street and then I was there. The group was hanging out on my buddy’s porch when I arrived. I asked them to meet me there because I knew there was parking near by and that was where the festivities were going to occur. Greetings were passed. Me being a martinet of proper etiquette, I asked my guest if they were hungry. My brother declined, and said he was going to meet a friend at a bakery in town. Temporarily purloining someone’s bike, my brother rode into the sunset in search of fresh bread. I had some quixotic plans to take Zach and Nathan to a fine restaurant, but then reality that I am impecunious arrived and instead we went to a nearby coffee shop. I don't drink coffee and immediately, upon finding this out, Nathan attempted to militate me towards becoming a coffee connoisseur but to no success. Nathan ordered a real-man's coffee; a big cup of joe; a tall one. Zach ordered a modicum of espresso despite my recommendation of a Chai Latte, which he turned down with such aggressiveness that I thought we might resort to pugilism. He seemed to enjoy the espresso though, and his inexorableness probably paid off.
I enjoyed myself to the aegis of some fine company and knowing that there was not a perfidious one in the bunch. There was a crescendo of laughter and merriment through the hour as we talked of old times and caught each other up on missed events.
I received a phone call form my co-worker Katie. She wanted to borrow some goat cheese to make red pepper and goat cheese dish for my party. There was no prattle, I simply informed Katie to meet us at the cafe then we would walk to the cheese refrigerator. Katie arrived, I introduced her to Zach and Nathan and we did just that.
The cheese was located at my friend Kevin’s house. When we arrived Kevin was not there, but his two roommates Matt and Cody, who are also my friends, were. Matt and Cody are pretty gregarious people and introduced themselves to Nathan and Zach, then left to purchase alcohol for the party, leaving the three musketeers to themselves. We talked for two hours, mostly about footbag. Discussion of concepts and threads we felt were ridiculous was our main focuses. I also learned more detail in Zach arrest and trial. The whole time we discussed everything I was getting the place ready for the festivities, and I hoped everyone was as ebullient as I for the night. Kevin arrived and helped clean up. I brought the Brie out thirty minutes to eight so that it may soften by the time the party started.
My two bosses arrived with their new baby girl at eight sharp. Some cheese pun intended. They came toting some wine and a wedge of Blue Stilton. I introduced Nathan and Zach for what seemed to be the thirtieth time, and then started bringing out the cheese. We started with some brie, mozzarella, gruyere, havarti, and the blue stilton. More people started arriving and the party was underway. I recommended to all my guest havarti on an apple slice. None should abnegate Havarti with a good Fuji apple.
One of the dilemmas with throwing a party, at least for me, is that as host I feel the need to make everyone happy. Therefore it is difficult to spend significant time with anyone, and I felt I was neglecting Nathan and Zach a bit. They assured me they were fine. Later in the night as the party wined down, another pun, Zach, Nathan and I were able to talk upstairs in Kevins room.
The night was a success. People seemed to have a good time, I danced a little, and even the raconteur, Eric Siegel, showed up. In fact, we scheduled a seven o’clock session with him the next day. Zach, Nathan and I arrived at my apartment around 2:30 am. Liz, my girlfriend was already there and had cleaned the place. She’s great. We were all tired so I showed Zach and Nathan where they could sleep, and they did. Goodnight.

I have not tried gyro flurry anytime recently. But I will work to it. Eric is back in the chicago land area and you and the rest of the CIC should get on that kid to start playing some more. I'll PM his # to you.

First day without playing in about a month. Well needed. Legs feel like lead balloons.

I have a friend from Michigan (I know shocker I have friends) who is living in champagne for the summer doing muscle research. I'm not exactly sure where he is living but it is pretty close to campus.
He plays a bit of footbag and is looking for somebody to kick with. He told me he is playing 30 minutes everyday for something to do since he doesn't know anybody down there. I'm gonna PM him your number and you should send me yours because 1. I don't have your number, and I should 2. So I can give him your number and you guys can meet up and kick.
He is mostly self taught and is pretty one sided. I have only kicked with him a handful of times since I started freestyling. I gave him a old pair of my lavers and a few footbags.
He was also talking about going to the Bday jam if maybe he could get a ride from you. But maybe you guys could discuss that once you meet him.
Well, since the old blog has been dusted off and brought out of neverland I figure I'll post how my game has been going.
Lately, I exchanged working on old and new concepts for working on endurance because I want to be able to keep up for two minutes in my routine(s?) at US open. That is coming along alright. In my first routine I average 5 or 6 drops and a long spot in the middle where I stare at the crowd panting like an old hound. My second routine I have yet to drop in it... excuse me... I have yet to work on it. All is well.
I found a babysitter for my six geckos, four eggs, and 8 fish while I'm at U.S. open. I'll be taking orders on the four babies if anyone is interested otherwise I'll just add them to the collection.
Spoiler on my routine. I'll end in a mobius. I always end in a mobius thanks to Scott D.
Thanks for reading who ever you are.
P.S. Zach your friend works in my old territory. I still have yet to meet him. He was tired today.

Worked a bunch of things today.
Drifters, double downs, flails, symposium quantum, symp whirl, swirl, flying clipper, two ball juggling, blenders (I have some neat drills with blenders I've been working on.) Voodoos, and "cool" squeezes.
I want to go to more events. Hopefully that will happen.
