Thanks! : )

Also, the hotel is going be quite a show in itself. There is a big soccer event happening in the area as well, so the hotel will be packed with foot sports players in general (many of the competing soccer players and teams are also staying at there). I look forward to seeing what the crossover is as we are right next to the hotel. It is again going to be a huge foot sports jamboree!

Last note on hotel:
If it books up for the weekend, we have a backup hotel down the road in the Vancouver area. It is;

Phoenix Suites
12712 SE 2nd Cir
Vancouver, WA 98684-6018
(360) 891-9777‎
phoenixinn.com

Rooms range from $80.00 to $90.00 per night.

If they ask one of us to do it with a real ball, I think we might have a fist fight on our hands 8) Or maybe a footfight

Hey I'm Liz and I'm a new stitcher. My boyfriend BrianBear taught me how to stitch, so our bags are similar. I will be selling my footbags at USO for a really good price.

Prices as follows:
USL, lead and seed bead filler bag= $15
Two USL, lead and seed bead filler bags=$25
Microsuede and USL hybrids (same filler)=$20

(I am really open to trades as well since I am new at footbag and stitching. You can check out my stitching in the bags and equipment forum.)

Also, BrianBear and our friend Marc (CSTR) need a 4th for our hotel room Saturday and Sunday night. If anyone is interested post a reply to either of us and we will get back to you ASAP!!!!

Can't wait to go to my first tournament and meet a bunch of talented footbag players!
~*~*Liz Nation~*~*
(Liz Nation footbags- $30 {includes shipping!} Can make standard, mini, and custom orders, all for the same price! Hybrids too! PM for more info. Trades welcome too!)

I really looking forward to this weekend. Aside from the SJFFs that I helped organize for 6 years I haven't been to a footbag tournament since worlds 2003. Footbag has been such a huge part of my life I feel lucky that such an epic tournament is just a couple of hours from my house. I can't wait to see old friends and meet new ones and play some mother fuckin' hacky sack!

I'll see y'all on Saturday.

-Alex Zerbe

and it'll be pretty awesome to see Jane and Daryl get inducted into the HOF

I'm losing sleep over this event in a good way.

There will be 15 copies of Dawn of the shred for sale at the USO. People who are there that already pre-paid and are at the open will have priority over the copies.

Red and the crew has paved the foundation for a great USO. I think as a group we should take advantage of the opportunity, and make it 100% as awesome as the video, the entire time.

Landes, Bevier, Gatesman, ugh, who can wait? Not Oprah. Best weekend ever coming right up. Thanks Sole Purpose for hosting.

Oh, a side question. What do we do from the airport to the hotel, cab it? Shuttle bus? Burrow?

For circumstances I will refrain from conversing about Cale and I will not be attending. Have a great time everybody! And film a crap load and make lots of sick vids!

Hi,
Regarding Jay's good question, there is a shuttle service that takes you from the airport right to the Marriott Hotel (and thus the site), called the Blue Star Shuttle. I believe it is $16.00 for the ride. They said it runs every ten minutes as well. Look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow night!

Hi,
A note on registering, we will collect your music if you are competing when you sign up. We gladly accept thumb drives or cd, we would rather not be playing from things like PSP's or anything of that nature (too much hardware switching around, not as efficient as importing the music to our laptop).

Also, again every one must register and sign the waiver form for Nautilus and the US Open. We will be accepting registration in the morning of Saturday the 11th for competition until 11am. If you are showing up any time during the day Saturday or Sunday, you must still get registered with the event and sign the Nautilus waiver (even if you are not competing).

With the players packs, here is what is included in the player pack;

* Nice Whole Foods carry bag
** Bottle of water
** Clif Bar
** Tropical Smoothie card (Buy one get one Free)
** Red Robin $1 off coupon
** Burgerville $10 Gift Card
**Panera Buy a coffee and get a Breakfast Sandwich FREE
** Optional "Hacky Sack" footbag

If you are competing, you get a t-shirt included. If you are registered as a Sideline Shredder, you get the player's pack, for an extra $5.00 (making it a total of $25.00 for Sideline Shredders for the weekend) you get a t-shirt as well. Anyhoo, back to business, more details to come!

the convoy of zac 1 zac 2 zeb kyle matt eric and sam are on there way! hit the oregon border about 30 min ago, see you all soon
Your next task: Go to the bathroom.
Wash your face.
Put your shoulders hunched upwards.
Look really, really slowly upwards towards the mirror like in the movies
And slap yourself in the face.
With your game face on.
And go shred with jim.
It'll work, trust me.

We were happy to have a decent cash payout this year (we had an extra boost at the end to help make it happen : ). As I write this the players don't know they are about to get paid), I firmly believe in supporting our players who have trained hard!

Special thanks to Ianek Regimbald for his great work at the event. We need more thinkers like him leading and innovating our sport!

We are also happy to announce our new BAP Inductee, by unanimous decision, we welcome Nick Landes to the Big Add Posse. Congrats Nick!

Chase Card-Burns

Scott Bevier
Brian McKenzie
Aaron Shepard
Jaime Scheffler
Shawnell Tolliver

Enjoy your new jerseys guys, you have earned them!

Much love from the Sole Purpose Footbag Group, we are proud that three of our players (Scott Bevier, Nick Landes, Shawnell Tolliver) all took away top awards (Bevier routines, Nick, Circle, Shawnell, women's routines). Keep training gang, it's paying off : )

Also, congrats to our new Hall of Fame Members;

Daryl Genz, Idaho

Jack Lentz, Pennsylvania
Justin Sexton, Finland
Carol Wedemeyer, California
Steve Smith, Illinois

Jane Jones-Zerbe was there to accept her award, and Sunny Freeman-Genz accepted on behalf of her husband, Daryl Genz. Many thanks to these people for performing the great work they have done over the years!

Also, many thanks to our staff, all the people not only involved with the event, but with the operation of our new company which we launched at the US Open. We are happy to announce the Fourkast Footbag Company has officially launched, many thanks to Jamie Scheffler, Christina Murphy, and Bonnie Stalberger for working our Fourkast sales booth. Thanks to Brian McKenzie for filming and documenting the event and Fourkast, as well as Chase Card Burns for filming and hyping the company at the event. Much love to Mr. Kenny Shults for his support of what we are doing. Thanks to my business associate (Mr. Stalberger), and our new staff working on the project. Much love to our IT guy, Sean Wingert, who has built an immense Fourkast site that will launch a month or so after Worlds (two of our guys are going to be there covering the event). Finally, much love to our Official Freestyle Team repping Fourkast at the event. They are;

Nick Landes (Fourkast production manager, freestyle representative)
Scott Bevier (Fourkast freestyle representative)
Jim Penske (Fourkast freestyle representative)

Also a shout out to our man David Clavens, who could not make the event but is the final member of the freestyle team (thanks for repping at the Green Cup demo). You were missed David! Much more information to come, Fourkast is specializing in footbag promotion, product (footbags, apparel, DVD's, news coverage, some new contributions : ), as well as media, shows, and events. Much appreciated to the people who picked up our new products at the Open, you were our first official customers and have purchased our Gen 1 line! Also, from here on the US Open (as long as it is in Portland) will be run by the Fourkast Events Team. We will be running a few other events around North America in 2010, more on that later. There will be much more information on what we are doing, again after Worlds in the 4th quarter the new site goes live. Our funding and support have been good, many thanks to our investors locally and other!

Image

Anyhoo, much more information, we have some very fun projects slated for the end of 2009 and 2010. More to come!

Finally, thanks to the players for supporting the US Open, it's you guys that keep us going! Tomorrow we shred at the Water Temple in honor of footbag, should be fun!
