Best bags for beginners?

My nephew wants to get into footbag. I told him I'd get him a bag for his birthday. Any suggestions on a solid bag for a beginner? Any reason he shouldn't start with a small metal bag just like the pros?

If you want to get him something special and perfect for starting out, you can get hand-stitched bags through the stitchers that post on this site. Simply let him or her know that you need a bag for a beginner, and they will make you a bag that will most likely be a little larger and / or emptier / or heavier than usual.

If you want to get him a solid bag for a beginner, you should definitely visit freedomfootbags.com and look into the Mr. Sandman footbag. They also have some great hand-stitched bags on that site.

edit: I should also note that good hand-stitched bags cost 25-35 USD, and the Mr. Sandman is less than a third of that.

I am a newb and i have used alot of differant bags, sandmasters, dirbags, small metals off of online shops, 182 panel bag, dirbags with experimental fillings ect.

The best bag i have ever played with yet is just a Mr. Sandbag.. I dunno, it just pancakes well, somewhat smaller, and i can feel it on my foot even though its not as heavy as a metal bag, which is weird, but yeah, for $7 it is truely amazing... I havent played with a Bag stiched from a player on modified, but im ordering one very soon...

You probably already made your decision, but yeah there is my two cents.. And also, the Mr sandbag facile (fabric) was not the greatest In my opinion, i dunno, GL out there. =)
