Screaming only works when the song was written to be screamed. Screaming vocals usually add a nice percussive element to music, and it's too bad that it can't be more widely appreciated. However you can't just take a song that relies so heavily on melodic vocals, and shout it out (badly). They could have compensated for the poor screaming with some kick-ass guitar riff or solo, but it just sounds like a simple palm muted tremolo pattern.
Seems like the world spins on bad decisions and bad haircuts.
