I graduated high school today
I got to make a speech cause I was salutatorian, and I think it went pretty well. I lost my NHS tassle when I threw my cap though
I played earlier today cause I got a digital camcorder thing as a grad gift. I played only to hit stuff for the camera just for fun. I'm gunna try and download some free video editor and see if I can make a small vid tonight. Hopefully I can!
edit: I officially hate all free movie editors. I can't get any of them to fricken work and the one that does makes funky files it never finishes processing in youtube
. I'll be ordering a mac on monday I think so when that arrives, I'll finally make a video.
I'll just list the highlights: of the session I guess. It was mostly just me tring to hit drills for the camera. Nothing new though
-smear > plo > rpt
-whirl > drifter > rpt
-ducking clipper > whirl > rpt
-ducking clipper > spinning clipper > rpt
-spinning clipper > ripwalk > rpt
-spinning clipper > gyro clipper > rpt
-tripwalk bsos
There might've been more, doesn't matter at this point.
Graduation party today. yay

see u this weekend!
Typing this from my brand new 13-inch macbook pro
NYFA tournament was awesome. I had short strings the entire weekend but its all good. Fun is fun. I did hit some cool stuff.
So jordan zuber arrived at my house saturday morning at a quarter to 8. We then immediately got into the truck currently in my possession. Off to the train station. After buying our tickets, we here an announcement saying the trains to penn station would be boarding on the opposite platform today. This was just as a train was pulling in. Luckily that wasn't our train, cause we missed it lol. So we catch our train on the opposite platform and arrive in penn station approximately 78 minutes later.
We take a cab over to wasington square park and wander. Of course we pass right by everyone setting things up. Jordan sees a guy in the distance and says he thinks he's a footbagger. I'm like, "nahhh." Can anyone take a guess at who it was? Of all people, it was Darryl Genz! He then showed us where everyone was. We greet everyone, sign up for events, and get our cool NYFA t-shirts.
Originally I was only going to do intermediate circle, but barrett told me that there was request contest and enough people for intermediate routines. The only thing relating to a routine I had prepared was a song from dragonball z: "gohan versus frieza." So, I did it anyway and dropped a lot lol.
Bryce filmed intermediate circle finals which was david beyers, jordan, drew krause, and myself. Bryce filmed that with my camera but it turns out that he filmed it all sideways, so its hard to watch haha.
I recorded open circle finals. Everyone did quite well. It was really fun to watch.
Request contest came at some point during the day too. I was up first and the combo was ATW to spinning toe. I hit it on the second go. Surprisingly, a lot of the people got out on this. It was just such an awkward link. I then got out on legover > drifter. Then of course I went and hit it first try outside the thing
I tried the next 2 or 3 rounds outside of the area and hit them all within the 2 tries
then after that I couldn't do them lol. I guess thats competition; doing poorly in it and well outside of it.
Played for most of the rest of the day. I hit pixie ducking rake at one point. I later hit ps whirl thanks to tips from stan, the same stan who taught me DLO last summer.
Jordan and I caught the 6:07 train back home cause I had to go to a graduation party. It was an awesome day.
Sunday morning Jordan met me again nice and early, not as early as saturday though. We picked up my friend tony and caught the 10:23 train. Upon arriving in the city, we made our way to washington square park under the misconception that we were there again. After a bit of waiting we found waylon. I got a text back from barrett saying that it was at union square. Waylon then lead us to union square a few blocks away. On the way there we ran into Ben Cooke, who was also heading to washington square. We got to Union square to find a bunch of people kicking.
I played mainly with bruce dole and the myachi guys in the beginning. They were all real fun guys to kick with. In that circle I hit eggbeater pretty easily and even hit flip eggbeater. I also hit rev whirl bsos first try. I don't think I've done that before.
Then the rest of the day at one time or another I got to play with ken s., ben cooke, waylon, jon s., stan, jordan z., darryl k., david beyers, drew krause, bruce again, and maybe others.
Throughout this time I hit:
- spinning clipper > ingyro clipper
- symple swirl bsos
- tripwalk bsos
- legbeater bsos without the seal
- infinity > ss butter > rpt > infinity > whirl > rpt
- maybe other stuff that escapes my mind
We ended the day by all eating at Republic, a ramen/noodle restaurant. The food was interesting. I've never had that type of cuisine before. Dinner was pretty fun I guess. Tony, Jordan, and I left when we were done so we could catch the 7:07 train.
Its weekends like this that make me want to attend every tournament I can, the whole 1 of them
Who knows, maybe I'll fair better with them once I have more freedom maybe in college or something.
I'm in the process of trying to make a video from the weekend but idk if I want to stay up and go through another half hour's worth of footage. We'll see how addicting my new mac is in a little bit.
Goodnight!

- gyro clipper and spinning clipper both bsos
- spinning clipper > DLO almost bs

Played today.
I tried to focus on control a bit more and such, so I made a video of today. It was a pretty decent session. I had to stop when the muscle or whatever that I pulled in my arm started acting up again. I'll be posting it in a little bit in the video section to get critiques and such.
Happy 4th of July!
edit: I also hit:
-mirage > legover x 35 contacts
-ss clipper > near mirage x 45 contacts
-clipper > near mirage > legover x 29 contacts

Played again today and filmed again today. I put the video in the same thread as my 4th of july video so I'm not overcrowding the video section.
It was a pretty good session for the most part I think. Hopefully the video reflects that somewhat. My control didn't seem to be all there but its all good for now. I don't have to have it perfect tomorrow. On the other hand, waiting could be bad. So yeah, we'll see how things pan out.
If I keep making videos they'll probably just be blog vids. A video blog would be cool.
Now I have to go write thank you's.

So I had an interesting experience today. I went to get some pre-surgery blood work done at a hospital.
I'm in one of the rooms, and lady comes and draws one vile of blood. The needle pinched a bit but I felt fine. She then asks me if I wanted any juice. In my sitting down state of normalness, I decline. She opens a door and directs me and my mom through it to leave the building.
My next thought is that my mom is walking a bit too fast for me and I ask her to slow down a bit. Its at that second I start feeling really light-headed, dizzy, and a bit nauseous. My mom tells me to lean against the wall so I do. The room is getting darker and darker while I just want to not throw up. My mom calls over doctors that had been walking by and by now my vision is all gone. They say they got a chair but I can't see it nor feel it so I just decide to sit and see what happens. Luckily I landed in the right spot.
I start to get some vision back and they bring me some orange juice. They also decided it'd be best for me to lay down so they brought me a stretcher. I lay down for a few minutes and drink my juice periodically. A security guard then brings a wheel chair and wheels me out to my mom's car.
From there I proceed to have pains in my stomach, but that was soon cured by a 7-11 bagel and powerbar.
I don't think I'll be footbagging today

Played today. It was alright. I had a bad mental day in the sense that I just wanted to play above my level. I was able to get myself down from the clouds eventually and was able to hit some decent tiltless strings.
A couple highlight like things:
- Dimwalk > pdx mirage > rpt
- flip DOD
- pixie ss whirl
I gotta focus!

Played today with the intention of recording, but ten minutes into the recording, the camera says the memory is full, which it most certainly isn't. Then my dad later accidentally that video trying to tinker with the memory. So there goes my videos of my hitting torque first try each side
I have yet to see myself doing a torque on video, and it was always like my dream move lol.
Anyway.
I dropped the last contact of osis > blender > osis > osis > blender starting on both sides. It pained me to be that close to it.
clipper set double pickup bs
symple swirl bsos again
spinning osis > little apple (I don't think it was well executed but it still felt pretty cool)
Schmoe bsos
Stepping far pickup bsos
40 tiltless!
I hit soo many strings that were either 12, 13, or 14 contacts. It was just so annoying to consistently drop at 14. At least there were the strings consisting of 22, 17, 17, and 40 contacts
I also gave watching the center of the bag a whack. I remember Ken saying something about it I on the sunday of the NYFA tournament. I think it is what helped me to get consistently longer ish strings. We'll see if it continues to work.
Yes.

Just had a 1 AM session.
Highlights:
-Downtime paradon
-diving clipper > drifter bs
-Barfly
The weird thing is that the barfly is my weak double down more or less. Idk, it varies I guess. My right leg is the strong dexing leg when it comes to DOD and I guess now barfly. My left leg is much stronger on paradons though. The barfly motion was so awkward for that leg.
Goodnight

Played with jordan z and jay b today for a while. It rained the whole time, but luckily there was a pavilion in the park next to Jordan's house. It turned out to be a good spot. The day was split up into two sessions. Jordan and I kicked from 12:30 to 2, jordan had to go to a meeting for an hour, then all 3 of us kicked from roughly 4 to 6:20 ish.
In session number one, I played in my old lavers just to see if I had ruined my form or basics with my climacools lol. It took a little getting used to but I thought I played better than I had expected with the lavers.
Session 1 highlights:
-pdx blender
-spinning ducking butterfly
-not horrible basics in lavers
From there Jordan went to his thing and my gps took me to the mall for food. I got back by 3:30 and me and Jordan played in his basement for like 5 minutes while waiting for Jay. He arrived a few minutes later and we began to play in the pavilion again. This session I wore my climacools.
Session 2 Highlights:
-bs blur
-pdx drifter
-a bunch of strings in the teens
-26 contact tiltless string with a bunch of 3's
-pdx whirl b2b (inspired by Jordan)
-another barfly
Jordan has been using his lavers lately due to the horrible condition of his g-units. He played very well in them for having used units for so long. He's been progressing very well lately.
Jordan Highlights:
-whirl > drifter bsos
-oodles of pdx whirls in strings
-pdx whirl b2b
-paradon > barfly
-nice paradons bs
-other stuff that escapes me
It was a fun session.
I get a minor surgery on tuesday so I'll be out of it for anywhere between 2-3 weeks or more
Definitely not looking forward to it, especially with funtastiks coming up. But what needs to be done needs to be done.
