Circle size ettiquite

When you go to a tourney do you notice that the circles grow large? I see it all the time and theres always people on the sideline wanting to play and yet not wanting to make the circle too large.
So if you have a circle of 4 and 2 or 3 people enter the circle suddenly what do you do?
A) leave it large
B) Mix it up so circles continue to mingle
C) Split back off into your original group in a separate circle so that the players in each circle remain separated

Yep. Unfortunately, in the situation that apparently sparked this little passive-aggressive note, Jon just argued that we shouldn't split up. There wasn't any intention to diss anyone, it just so happened that the people who broke off from a way-too-big circle first were the same people who had been kicking together earlier.

Jon, If you've got a problem with what's going on, you could have said something to people's faces on Saturday instead of coming on here & starting shit. That's all I'm gonna say.

I think we should argue online and never play in person - that's for [Not on this forum, thanks - King Monkey]. and If you guys DO come in from out of town, everybody should just diss the locals and play keep-away. You cocksuckers are juvenile - if anybody wants to blow me or jon come on in for a jam

no one dissed locals or played keep away. everyone actually had a great time from what i could tell. what happened was there was a circle of 3 and a circle of 4. the circle of 4 came over to the 3, and 7 is too much for one circle (edit: especially since the freestyle location was on a paved track rather than an open lot). everyone ended up playing with everyone else at the event eventually, so i dont see what the problem is here. no one played keep away from jon... jon was in the circles he wanted to be in. everyone at the event seemed to have a great time and acted maturely. i actually had a great time kicking with jon, despite a comment i misunderstood. it would have been great to kick with you jake, but unfortunately the only time i saw you, you were playing net and were gone by the time i got back.

i dont really think jon's thread is meant to be passive-aggressive, but circle size is definatly something that should be discussed. i think the max amount of people im comfortable in a circle with is 5... but it also depends on the skill range... for me at least. i think the largest circle ive been in was 7, and it was a shredita circle at worlds 07. that was a lot of fun, but was definately circumstantial.

My rule for circle etiquette would be this;

If you can't figure out a way of dealing with having more than 5 people who want to play footbag at one time you should write a letter to the editor of your local newspaper asking if readers could help you out, or perhaps you should wait until you turn 10 years old before concerning yourself with such arduous mental activities.

Seriously, there are no etiquette rules for circle numbers. Just a level of common sense you'd hope anybody with a double digit age would have mastered.

Ill give Raye a pass on his rant, there is a weird local vibe.

But I was serious and wasnt meaning to dis anybody- And it wasnt about Nathan at all. Even without weird vibes, often there is a circle of 4 and like 3 people who really want to play but hold off from joining because of fear of a large circle. I think its best to just join it and make it too big, then theres enough people in to split off into separate circles while continuing to mix it up. Also, it does make sense that if you are still working on your game, or if youre one of the best in the world, you play with some lesser players- dont dis people because they arent as good as you are. Thats the opposite of footbag.

Edit- I just saw Hollys post, this isnt a rant about a specific situation. I got over that in like 1/2 second. Its just an informative post so newbies get an idea of footbag ettiquitte.
