Played today for one last time before my minor surgery. Made a video. Had some decent highlights, one of which being new guiltless record :) Enjoy!

Got back from having my minor surgery to have a cyst removed this morning. So I can't play for like 3 weeks :(

Super lame.

At least I now know that I'll definitely be going to funtastiks :D

I got my stitches from my surgery out yesterday. My doctor said I could "resume normal activities" lol. So it'll roughly a week before I have a light session. Its also dependent on how well I'm recovered by then. I touched where the stitches used to be and it felt super gross. There was still no feeling in the skin but my hand could feel that everything wasn't exactly held down by the stitches anymore. Nasty.

When I do play, I'm considering playing in my old lavers for a day or two to make sure I'm good on the basics. We'll see

I woke up this morning planning on kicking but when I went to get ready, I did some airshredding. it felt like I was bouncing too much and making my surgical area uncomfortable. This got me super bummed.

After doing a bunch of bank stuff with my mom I finally got the inspiration to go kick. I get on my gear and go outside. Turns out it wasn't that uncomfortable at all. I had an hour and 15 minute session.

For the first part I did roughly 600 contacts of basic stalls (not consecutively, longest consec was 94). Doing some of the stuff in the Vasek manual definitely showed me where I could improve. Lefty inside needs a bit of work.

After that I tried some strings just to see if I could. The first bunch were all <6> dive > rpt after a few tries.

It was a good restart session.

Played today with jordan z, jordan a, doug tank, and ian pfeiffer (sp?). It was a really cool session. Everyone did really cool shiz. I'm definitely regretting not filming lol.

I essentially played harder than I thought I should have, being only my second session since my surgery. I figured I should avoid stepping, drifters, atomic, and quantum. I didn't exactly do this. I did a fair amount of stepping and drifters kinda, but only did atomic and quantum a couple times each (strongside only). I think the lack of string length while doing these tricks kinda balanced my furthering of injury. I did go for longer tiltless a bit too and was mildly successful with that. I'm fine with the length I was getting. It was only my second session after surgery after all.

Highlights:

- smear > plo > rpt (first try but real sloppy)
- dimwalk swirl first try
- osis > far swirl (felt styley)
- osis > stepping something bsos
- footed rev whirlwind.
- pdx drifter first try
- decent-ish spinning
- clip set dlo bsos
- didn't rip open skin
- had fun

Good times. As I believe I've said before, playing with other people is soo much better.

Had to play again today while I'm still excited lol. My goal was to start preparing a routine for funtastik. I already had the song picked out and edited as well as having an idea of some of the choreography I wanted to do. There was one time where I had an awesome beginning, but once I started dropping, that was it.

There's always two sections that no matter what, I'd drop. My only excuse for the first of the two may be stamina. The second one is a bit hard also being at the very end. Maybe I'll switch it out.

At least I'm confident on my ending trick :)

Played again today. Practiced my routine and filmed for jordan's comp. My strings for the comp were alright ish but it's fine cause this isn't necessarily about winning :)

My routine practice was very tiring. A lot of times I had to stop part of the way through. I think my stamina is slowly returning though. I did, however, have one run through of only 6 drops. Yes, I know, 6 is a lot. But for me, 6 is phenominal. Sin embargo, it was balanced out by a hand catch and a pause that was a hair too long. I could have easily done something to pass the few seconds waiting for the next cue. It was still progress though.

Played today and oh my gosh I wish I filmed. I had such a good session. Some stuff just randomly worked.

Highlights:

- double pickup and DSO both bsos
- paradon and DSO both bsos
- footed DATW and both DSO bsos (always dropped the last DSO)
- stepping far legover > pixie ss clip > rpt first try
- clip set barrage bsos
- ps whirl twice

After that I tried taking action shots for a new facebook picture cause I need a new one. I continuously failed when trying by myself. Luckily, my brother came home and volunteered to assist. I was going for the typical whirl type shot. I tried whirls, pdx whirls, symp whirls, and a couple ps whirls. With the ps whirl shots, as well as with many of the shots, I'm exerting myself enough to have a gnarly face. My right hand would also always be askew. So hopefully I can find a couple decent ones.

I then moved on to practicing my routine. I changed the beginning cause I thought it'd be more practical for my level and for choreography. It works when I'm sensible about each trick, not trying to spice it up too much. I just have to get the rest of the routine down. Its the spots between planned cues that kill me. I'll just have to figure it out.

Later,

So today I tried to work on shuffley moves for the most part. There was some progress and promise earlier on, but at some point my legs just wouldn't do it. I'd love to use the excuse of the surgery, but I think since it'll be a month tomorrow, that excuse will no longer be valid. Ended up being a so-so session. There was some good, a lot of bad, and some decent routine practice.

I was filming throughout and will post a video of it later. Now lets see if I can do it all tonight lol.

Okay, here's the little video. I felt like messing around with the editing a bit, just for fun.

Played for the first time while at college. Filmed, or at least I thought I did. The camera turned itself off after like a minute :x

Highlights:

- string with spinning pickup bsos, toe set DLO bsos, and a merkon
- stepping far legover > DLO bs
- toe set DLO's seemed oddly easier today

That's actually all I can remember right now. There was more but I just can't remember. Then again, if I can't remember, then maybe it wasn't worth remembering lol

I got up this morning and went to the campus gym. I was always told how nice it was but was never able to see it myself. The equipment is super modern, the view is nice, and there is a bit of everything amazing in there. After feeling manly and enjoying some quality muscle milk, I played tennis for a bit with my roommate and suitemate. Apparently, my beloved backhand returned to me. I might've hit some of the hardest backhands of my life. Snap.

I then kicked for a bit with the sole purpose of practicing my routine. So that lasted roughly 45 minutes. I had some trouble getting fully thru the routine at first. But my last two run throughs were satisfactory.

Classes started today, but because of my schedule, mine don't start until tomorrow. Should be interesting to see how the whole college experience is when you actually have to do work

Played today. The day started off badly because of 2 factors. After getting to my spot on top of the garage, I take out my video camera and turn it on. Of course, it just miraculously happens to be nearly dead. I put it away and move to take out my bags. Of course, they're not there. Luckily the parking garage is literally right next to my dorm.

Upon returning, I kinda rushed into playing. I did my usual beginning warmup but then jumped right into trying to get strings. I kinda went back and forth just trying to have fun with certain things. Hit smear > drifter almost bsos. Had to settle for the bs.

I eventually moved on to routine practice. After a couple run throughs, I had two awesome go's. I was so happy. The next one sucked lol. The final one was in between suck and awesome. I ended there.

College life is definitely different but it's a lot of fun. I really have to be disciplined with my workload. I have a 2-3 page paper due tuesday morning and from tomorrow morning thru monday I'll be at Funtastiks. Gah.

Whatever.

Harrisburg tomorrow!

Normally I'd blog about the whole weekend at funtastiks, but this time I think I'll refrain. It was just such a good time that I wouldn't want to leave anything out. I guess I'll write a little bit though.

The people in my hotel room were awesome and definitely contributed to the experience as a whole. It was me, jordan zuber, waylon, barrett, mike toolan, and nathan pipenberg (sunday night). It was so much fun.

I ended up taking first in intermediate routines. Jordan took second. The judging must've been really hard because we had a similar amount of drops, and I personally believe both were pretty darn good for each of us. It's awesome having somebody who's similar in skill level. We're always pushing each other to go further. Next year, our routines are going to be an all out war  I'll be uploading our routines later.

It's such a shame that the weekend went by so fast. It was so awesome meeting some really big names and getting to play with them.

I just can't express how good of a time I had
