Are you inny-outty? or an outty-inny?

Post by WyrmFyre »

Noticed this last night while drilling some ATWs with my friend Jamie, I wondered if it was true of the footbag community at large.

Im still getting to grips with nailing ATW on my good side, and Ive noticed that I prefer to go from in to out with mine. However, Jamie feels its a more natural movement for him to go out to in.

So Im curious, even through we all drill like crazy to make sure every direction on both feet are the same, do other players find that theres a "natural tendancy" to play in-out, or out-in, a bit like being left or right handed I suppose.

On my right side I prefer in->out, on my left side I prefer out->in. I guess I'm clockwise-y :)

I learnt atw and datw in>out and have only hit tatw that way, but I hit atw and datw out>in way more often and prefer that way.

I remember the very first time i could only do in to out with right leg, but now i can just do in to out or out to in with both feet equally lol, both are easy to me now so idk.

I think it depends on what is the trick before your atw, you may find out to in or in to out more easily depends on the tricks u hit before atw. 8)

i am defintely better at in>out dexes, almost entirely. with the obvious exception of butterfly vs whirl, in>outs are much easier to execute and are much easier on my knees/legs in general.

I'm more out->in oriented on both sides, aside from any miraging concepts like quantum sets. But, my pixies and quantums are better on my right side, and fairies on my left side hurt my knee.

I am also clockwisey. I think it has to do with eye dominance, as wierd as that sounds. I can do both ways equally, but prefer out>in on the left and in>out on the right.

I think mine has to do with eye dominance too! I was almost going to write that, but I don't know for sure...

Matt and Damon, so which eye is dominant for each of you? If that's true, then maybe we could find a trend.

I'm right eye dominant and I'm out > in both sides.

i learnt to do in>out first so i put that as my choice, but i prefer doing out>in and i think im better, or atleast more comfortable at doing them.

seems lik abit of a contradiction, but when i first started i naturally went to in>out so that must be my natural side.
