Matt Bailey UK TV Appearance

Post by matt_bailey »

Here is a demo I did on a new kids TV show.

The show is called Skillicious and was made to try and get kids active over the summer by introducing them to interesting sports and passtimes.

They obviously knew what they wanted to show so didnt really let me have much imput and kind of put words in my mouth, but at least its some exposure for the UK.

The episode I featured in was broadcast 3 times and hopefully by adding it to youtube as well to make it really easy to find again, it will give footbag here some decent publicity.

I think this officially makes you the UK Ambassador for Footbag :D

You didnt seem phased by the fact you were being recorded for TV, you kept it very natural and very casual, great work!!!!

Any idea if its likely to be broadcast again, and when? And im gunna want your autograph when your down this way now :D

Its not on again im afraid Ian (unless they repeat the series later on this summer), i didnt really realise there would be another player in the UK to watch it besides Nick ha!

I felt my nerves in my game which sucked but i think i did ok

you know marco i find her accent a bit silly ha! she has an extreme dialect which they seem to like on kids tv here!

she liked my balls though :)

plus thanks matt and mike

you know matt i must have watched your ytv demo a hundred times before that day so thanks in a sense for the inspiration!

Wow awesome job! I think your British accent is allot more pronounced in the video than what I remember.

Did they reach you (and if so, how) or did you contact them?

Nice promo!
I think it's these kind of tv programmes for children/young teens that are most important for the growth of the sport. Obviously 6 year olds won't start playing, but later on since they know what footbag is, there's a chance they just might get into it.

So props to you Matt for doing this.

thanks Roy

Yea when hanging out with americans or europeans speaking americanised english at worlds, my accent resorted back to an american mix i picked up when living in indonesia when i was younger! its back to normal now :D

they actually found me through my video on youtube. they wanted a "hacky sacker" and could only find me from the UK. they sent me a message to my profile a week before filming ha!
