Henry, will you edit your post to include a pic please?
Tom, No I didn't get a camera. This girl I know let me borrow one, she just took it back for a few days then shes gonna let me use it again, hopefully.
Played 4 or 5 times this week. I need to start posting in this bitch more, or start writing stuff down so I can remember.
candles from this week.
barfly > pdx whirl b2b > barfly again, much cleaner this time.
swirl > stepping whirl > run
far swirl > ripwalk bs
paradon > schmoe > rpt
pdx torque > pdx blender bs
pdx torque > ps whirl bs
pdx blender > gyro symp whirl
gyro whirl and spinning pdx whirl bsos in the same string.
That's about all I remember from last week.
I had a really good session last night. I was exhausted when I got home from work, but wanted to play. Then I decided not to because I played twice with Hollis the day before. Then I changed my mind again and kicked.
I haven't liked my drifters for a while, mostly because I wasn't consistent with them. So most of the session was dedicated to drifters.
9/14 highlights
I do these 2 warm up drills every time I play. mirage > ss mirage > rpt > legover > ss legover > rpt > pickup > ss pickup > rpt > illusion > ss illusion > rpt
and
clip > near leg > clip > far leg > rpt > clip > near mirage > clip > pdx mirage > rpt > clip > near pickup > clip > far pickup > rpt > clip > near illusion > clip > pdx illusion > rpt
I did the first one, then straight into the second one, then straight into the second one again, but with butterflies.
40+ bops first try.
gyro clip > diving clip > spin clip > duck clip > duck clip > rpt
whirl > drifter > rpt
drifter > dlo > rpt

pdx whirl > drifter > drifter > pdx whirl
drifter > pdx whirl > pdx whirl > drifter
far swirl > drifter > drifter > far swirl
drifter > swirl > rpt (Tj challenged me to this like 2 years ago)
pdx dlo > drifter > dlo > drifter > rpt
pdx dlo > ss drifter > rpt
drifter > dlo > drifter > drifter > rpt (this one took me forever, and I have been working on it since November)
Then I stole a combo from Tom's blog (Thanks Tom and Nathan)
blender > gyro pickup > rpt
drifters are feeling better now, they still need some work tho.
Wednesday I had a final for one of my classes. It went really well, I wont know what I got on it for a week or two, but I'm feeling really confident. Two more weeks of classes then I'm done with the summer semester.

i do almost the same drills each session too but i do the first one x3's (mirage> mirage> mirage> ss mirage> ss mirage> ss mirage> ...) and add on atw out> atw in> pixie> rpt to the front. On the second one i add in ss mirages and illusions, and legovers and pick ups from toe after the clip set near ones (clip> near mirage> ss mirage> clip> pdx mirage> ...)ZJ wrote:I do these 2 warm up drills every time I play. mirage > ss mirage > rpt > legover > ss legover > rpt > pickup > ss pickup > rpt > illusion > ss illusion > rpt

props on the spinning + gyro whirl bsos. spinning is something i really want to get better at, by far the weakest component of my game. Also love the pdx blender> gyro symp whirl. i've done it non symp, but i'll def have to give that a try!

I got the camera back to borrow for a little while longer, so expect some links and some small videos in the blog.
also the girl who let me borrow the camera is supposed to let me use her Mac to edit a video from my sessions for august and late july
My Dad just bought a crossbow, this year in Michigan residents over 50 years of age can get a permit to legally hung with a crossbow. I'm at my Dad's now and we just got done sighting the scope in the make it shoot right. This thing is fucking awesome, for those of you who know anything about bows. It had a 150 pound draw, it shoots 325 feet per second. From 20 yards I putt all 3 bolts in the bullseye, all touching each other. From 30 yards I put all 3 in the bullseye, and after the bolt gets past 20 yards it increases speed and goes into the target further and harder than at 20. At 40 yards my Dad put a sticker the size of a quater in the bullseye and I hit it second try. Then at 50 yards I was able to hit the bullseye on the second shot, but missed the sticker.

Sessioned yesterday, played alright. I played really well the last 2 session, so I was due for an off day.

This is kinda how my session was going. I would hit something good, then drop on something stupid. I dropped on my strong schmoe at least 20 times.

This was first or second try. I got the first link on my flip but couldn't get a good spin out of it.
I did end my session with this strong point. The seal is kinda wack, but its the first time ive hit it since 08 USOpen I think.

edit: I didn't realize it at first. But I did all of these videos during the same song.

Hey blog, its been almost a month. How have you been?
This might be a long post. So you have been warned. If you not interested in me or footbag, what the hell are you doing reading my blog anyway.
Ken: I'm glad you like my combos. My unique fearless record is 6, I have hit 2 combos of 6, but they are very similar. I think they have 4 of the same 5's in it.
Brain and Cale: Thanks for the comments on the beard. I often think about shaving it off, and having just the chin beard like I had at worlds 07. But I, and my face were much thinner then. Maybe when I lose some more weight.
Cale: Good eye on the bag! I took some filler out of both of the bags that you sent me. They were just a little to heavy for my taste. Now that they are a tad lighter, I use them almost every session. I absolutley love them.
Nathan: It was cool hanging out for sure. You are more than welcome to come anytime, even on short notice. We should have gotten some Nut-Thins tho.
Over the last 2 weeks or so my session have been really hit and miss. I was not playing well for a while. Then Nathan came to visit at the beginning of last week. I played alright during our first session, then played pretty good the next day during our second. Then a few days later I played and it wasnt very good.
I have been working a lot of basic downtime stuff, like spin pickup and duck legover, and trying to work that stuff into my game more to give it more variety. I can do lots of combos with pickups and other basics, they just never show up in my runs.
9/15 2 hour shred with Nathan. Only going to post a few highlights
alpine atomsmasher
blurry whirl - ripwalk - ripwalk - rpt
blurriest bsos
paradon - blur - rpt
footed pdx whirling swirl
food processor - spin blender
blurry whirl, tomahawk, ps whirl, and 1 spin whirl all in the same string
9/20 100 minute shred.

tomahawk b2b
DOD and paradon bsos in the same string
fairy ss legover bsos
fairy op legover bsos
fairy muted clip - spin pickup - rpt
pixie paradon (really clean)
After the session I mowed the lawn. Then I called Hollis to share some highlights. He talked me into having a second session. He drove down and we had a short session, but we both were on our A games.
9/20 Second session 75 minutes
far swirl - ripwalk bsos
pdx whirl - blurry whirl bsos
barfly - ripwalk (stepped out of the flip but no seal)
scorpions tail flip
food processor - ripwalk (stepped out of it on the flipside but couldnt get a seal)
mobius bs almost bsos
pixie muted ss swirl - ripwalk
muted ducking far swirl bs (stepped out of the flipside)
double switchover bs almost bsos and even closer to b2b
blurry whirl x3 (stepped out of the last one and almost got 4, but had to bail to clip)
blurry whirl - tomahawk bs
fairy op butter - pdx mirage - rpt (flip fairy sucks, so that was a good drill for me)
footed far swirl - stepping ss muted swirl
9/21 session after work 70-80 mintues, downtime training
duck, dive, spin, gyro all of the basics (clip, butter, osis, mirage, legover, pickup, illusion) all bs
toe ss, toe op, clip ss and clip op most of my downtime components (dlo, egg, whirl, drifter, dyno, blender, torque, double downs, and symple swirls all bs)
the toe dlo's were, DLO - ss DLO - rpt
the symple swirls were all in 1 run
and the clip blenders were, blender - pdx blender (almost got the rpt)
So lots of shred the last 3 days. I have been sick, so I need to take a few days off and let my body heal and get healthy.

I drove out to PA with my mom and my cousin this weekend. Then on Saturday took a train into NYC to go and kick with NYFA and meet up with a friend who lives in Brooklynn the following day.
The session was sweet. We played at Washington Square Park. Which was a really cool place, especially for my real first time being in the city.
I played pretty good during the session too.
Highlights
Backside Bedwetter
blurry reaper
superdooperfly
footed stepping ss double switch.
I'm having a hard time remembering anything else. I am just so pleased with those 3 new tricks.
I did have some really good strings that are longer than my usual runs so that was good.
It was overall a really good weekend and im excited to kick more, and hopefully go back to NYC and see NYFA again soon.
