29th Annual Beaver Open/Fourkast Footbag Camp Sept. 5th-6th
29th Annual Beaver Open/Fourkast Footbag Camp Sept. 5th-6th
Hey all,
We are please to announce a great long running event that we now have the honor of promoting, the 29th Annual Beaver Open! This is a great long running Oregon footbag event, started by the Founders of the sport more or less. In past years I have attended, this year with my new schedule I am happy to begin working with this unique event. Here are the details;
The Event:
Dates: Labor Day Weekend (Sept. 5th and 6th)
The Beaver Open is essentially a giant (50-100 person) camp out event with footbag at it's heart. It is not like any footbag event I have ever been a part of, the atmosphere is very cool and relaxed. There are many fun activities that occur at the event, my personal favorite being the Night Glow Golf
: ) Anyhoo, this event is the world's longest running footbag event, with many great legends of footbag attending.
Where I have attached the Fourkast Footbag Camp is the new area we are opening up in it, which really represents an official return of freestyle at the event (we will have the Fourkast booth set up there as well). For the last couple of years we have been doing a slow build of freestyle at the event, this year the group is officially stepping it up! The Fourkast crew will be on site, we will also be running official freestyle training camps covering everything from basics to advanced tricks (this is also a build up for some things planned for next year). Finally, attached to this will be meeting of people interacting about various footbag/foot sports agendas for 2010 and beyond. More info on this soon!
The Location:
The Beaver Open is held every year on the fair grounds of the Oregon Country Fair. This is essentially a giant renaissance fair ground. It is a very sweet site for an event, just outside of Eugene Oregon by 15 minutes. Here are the directions;

What you need:
The event is a camping trip, camping gear is helpful (tent, pillows, and so on). It is essentially all day Saturday and Sunday, you can arrive as early as Friday the 5th. The freestyle stuff will be happening on the weekend however. Showers and bathrooms are on site, along with a lot of other very cool structures held over from the Country Fair.
Cost:
Per day it is $25.00 (to cover site fees), with this you get a light breakfast, and a good dinner both Saturday and Sunday night (people are welcome to stay until Monday, that is pack it in day).
This event is quite an experience, the Sole Purpose/Fourkast Gang will be down there in numbers training and enjoying the camping environment. It is a great time! If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. Thanks, and see you in the circles!

I am glad to hear you are making it Jim! Nice chat the other night, great things ahead : ) The Idaho Crew should all make it for this event, Sole Purpose will certainly return the favor at the Idaho State Championships! I will be good to have yourself, Scott, and Nick in the same place again, more Fourkast Team filming! I certain can say people will enjoy this event, it is quite simply one of the funnest (and different) footbag events you will go to. The main organizers of the event have really perfected their craft, it again is outrageously fun!
