Kicked with Matt @ Arsenal Park.
I have been fighting a monster cold all week, and work has been an epic source of stress. Still, it was nice to kick today.

Highlights:
*Ducking clipper-torque-wauxpin-simple swirl-string
*2 Mid-string weak-side atom smashers
*Ducking clipper-spinning clipper-simple swirl bs
*Osis-blur one side, osis rip other, same string
*Improved stepping sets, both sides
*Spinning osis bs
*Spinning clipper-dyno bs
*Some good strings
EDIT
*ducking clipper-symposium mirage (don't ever remember trying this clipper set before, so I got it first try)
*ducking clipper-symposium mirage bsos (the very next string- so I got almost got 2 three add moves bsos, first try :) )

Kicked solo, even though feeling really sick.
First part of session in Lavers. Ideally I should spend an hour each session schooling basics before my half our of warmup in gunits. Then shred.
Todays video has some decent attempts at ripstein and a my favorite 4 add move that I can hit.

deleted vid- did not upload correctly

That video did not survive the upload process. Here is a shorter one:

Massive crunch-time with a freelance project worked-out, so I rewarded myself with a short session. Then went home and made another massive pot of chilli. Now I have to document 5 months of work though, before going to sleep. It's gonna be epic

Anyway, here is some footage. I still can't breathe for shit because of my cold, but I am hoping that some of these concepts I have been working on will carry over in to longer strings once I am healthy again.

Edit: the music was not on the video...

highlights from the shortest session ever. Had to squeeze it in since there will be no time to kick until Sunday- if I am lucky.

hey ian, the 1st ripwalk at 37 seconds (approx) looked to be really good form and rhythm. keep up the good work, I've been enjoying the vids and will comment anytime I feel like I have something useful to add.

Take care :-)

Hi Bob,

Thank you for the feedback. That is actually my weakside ripwalk, but as I hit it I was most impressed with the first component: It was out of my screwy, weak ducking clipper. What I differently was force myself to set the bag farther back, so that I was coiled when I hit my clipper. Then, because I knew that starting with the advantage of a proper form, I felt more confident allowing myself to set with the support leg, rather than the delaying leg. The benefit of decent form and a low pop was being able to efficiently execute the close-in, crab-walk motion. This is so not my style, but it is an important intermediary before I can make a hot distinction between uptime and down time components. I realize this, and any encouragement to keep with good form is appreciated.

Jake is leaving. Matt and I just said our goodbyes. Provided he doesn't get in a car accident driving cross-country with a new iphone ( ) he is about to f some major s up. Seriously. I am so stoked for stoked for him and I can't wait to visit.

Footbag highlights:
*Ate an enormous lunch (indian... we've been over this before)
*Sushi
*Salmon steak
*I thought I would try and eat my way out of this fucking cough I've had for over almost two weeks now. Only time will tell.

Damn. I am so happy for Jake.

Where is Jake going, and is it a permanent move?

I feel your pain on the never-ending cough/cold front. Good luck to us both on that.

Jake is moving to Washington State for gradschool. I get the impression that he's open to the idea of trying out new places once he is finished, having lived in PA his whole life. Super-stoked for the guy. I'm pretty sure every day is going to be straight out of a 007 novel for him.

Yeah, and fuck this cough- hot damn!

And kicked with Matt today:
Highlights not on film:
*spinning clipper-dyno bsos
*ducking clipper-spinning clipper-repeat-footed ducking far simple swirl
*ducking clipper-spinning clipper-simple swirl-weak torque
*ducking clipper to reiferman-approved rip bsos
*good form whirls on weak side. Three consecutive.

Nice spinning eclipse! I also liked the torques. Keep working on tightening up the ducks... I think you're making progress.

Still sick.

Played a bit. Recorded it. Watch it if you want. Feeling shitty and out of sorts. Combination of putting on weight and not being able to exercise because of this fucking cough.

Built a fun little one-day math animation today. Possibly the nerdiest thing I have done yet :)

Which reminds me, I would still love some feedback on my AV work at ibrill.com

I will post some links here, I suppose

The iphone has certainly made 11 hour days of driving alot more tolerable! The voice memo app rocks! It's like keeping a journal of my thoughts as I drive...totally rad. And using it while driving on the highway's really not that bad, though I did knock on wood after reading your comment Ian! That wouldn't be very 007 of me would it? Regardless, I fully intend on going Jason Bourne on this mofo. All while keeping then ninja mistique of course.

Ken, yes, I'm going to Grad school in Seattle (!) Ian hit the nail on the head with regard to his analysis of my move. So I'll explain no further, unless anyone's curious.

And either way, I'm still reppin' SCF so you'll see me around fo sho!

word up

p.s. i'm camping out in grand tetons and yellowstone this week. Stoked!!

Great to hear from you Jake :)

Let me know if you want me to send you a link for that 4min PSA about texting while driving  - Jess asked me to watch it yesterday, independent of our conversation... 8O 8O - not for the squeamish!!!

Jealous about the trip. Pictures or it didn't happen

Kicked for twenty minutes. Schooled spins almost the entire time. I don't wait for the stall beforehand. I get anxious. And, then I don't wait for the stall afterwards. Quite silly, really.I am making improvements though, and my ducks are getting better on my weak side. So are my weak whirls.

Highlights:
*Spinning clipper X2, twice
*Two solid strings at least

Made a revision of that vid. Too sick to do much other than practice new patching trickery and make little projects.
