Yikes, sorry to hear that Holly. Maybe you should take some time to let your body heal for a week, and then stretch your ankles and do some squats to get your legs back into full gear.

And as I was reading through this page of your blog about adding trick variety into your strings, calf bumps as you're doing clipper drills is a nice, simple and styley thing to do. Like, clip > ss calf bump > same clip > opposite side repeat.

edit: Aghhhh, I didn't mean to take the first post of a new page! Sorry!

well --someone-- didnt look at the forwarded itinerary to notice that i was leaving sunday rather than monday... so reid was going to kick with us sunday afternoon but with me leaving, the only freestyler available to kick was nathan.

made a new footbag, and loved it so much that i decided to keep it for myself. i havent had a broken in footbag that ive made in such a long time, because i keep giving them away for some reason.

grocery shopping tomorrow for ingredients for lentil & spinach minestrone, then kicking before going to work, and meeting up with nathan for a honky tonk weekend.

sunday should be a really rad kicking day:
me
nathan andersen
andrew (local unknown badass)
lee van sickle
elliott johns (still freestyles sometimes)
ben (net player)

this should be the biggest circle nashville has seen in a while, so hopefully i'll be able to get some of it on video. you guys should see how smooth lee and andrew's styles are. like i said, hopefully ill get some video footage.

activity ideas for the weekend:
local gourmet popsickle stand
tennessee state fair
footbag
chicago/green bay game
magic the gathering
chuck close exhibit

ps. i need some challenges, please

what about this one : ss clip>ss legover >ss clip>ss pick up>ss clip>ss mirage rpt ?

i really love that one because its fairly easy to manage, but since its 12
trix in a row, one gots to be on ones toes all the time.
its also good for getting a steady, flowy rhythm and very rewarding when you get thru it the first time :D.
later when you got that one down good and you get bored with it, do
ss butters instead of clippers, or try to increase reps, smooveness or whatever ya fancy.
that said, the drill is far from being creative, but a good building block for that next sh*t !

this weekend has been fun. kicked today with nathan at centennial. lee bailed again, and andrew had to work. elliott came out. and alex and tommy came out as well. we found a different spot from where we normally kick at centennial, and it was much better.

highlights:
ss dlo again (my first double dex, and easier to me than others)
normal dlo
clipper set dlo
butterfly>dlo with no catch (soooo close!)
butterfly>pdx mirage
butterfly>ss mirage
clipper>ss mirage>clipper>ss mirage>clipper>pdx mirage
my normal mirage/ssmirage/legover drills

the normal dlo was odd. i got the bag and thought in my head "im gonna do my dlo" (which is usually same side) and accidently went for normal and hit it first try. wooooo!

i worked on my flip clippers a lot today, and i can see a big difference in last week and this week. im at least getting the bag on my inside surface, and getting it off my foot. i just need to practice some more.

I haven't been reading blogs much recently but yay for dlo! You were so ridiculously close to it the last time I saw you. See you in December.

 butterfly > ssdlo > dlo

the second dlo was an absolute accident... when i finally landed the ssdlo, i figured i should try to add something at the end and the dlo popped out. aaaah i still cant believe that happened!

things i need to work on (for my personal record):
flip clips
flip butts
illusion
pixie
posture

more challenges would be lovely!

ps. youre welcome nathan! glad we didnt do any honky tonkin'.
pps. is considering competing at nyj if i keep training hard... thoughts?

Hi Holly!

How are things? (I typoed that as 'thongs' and seriously considered leaving it that way) I should buy one of your bags one day hey...

Hey would you mind doing me a massive favour and doing a drawing of a footbag for me to tatt on my calf? :D You would rock my world. I remember seeing a drawing you did on your website that was almost similar to exactly what I want. No rush though as I won't be doing it for a little while, wish I could have it now but no funds :(

sure thing james. will do. what kinda style are you looking for? do you want clean lines or do you want rugged looking lines?

yeah elliott. im a huge catan fan. bought an xbox and now i cant stop playing it!

i havent had the chance to kick the last few weeks. i thought i had the swine flu for a while, but the doctor misdiagnosed me and i actually have a really bad kidney infection... so my back has been feeling awful. i spent all of halloween laying in bed. i went to a party for like an hour the night before, but thats just cause i couldnt stand the thought of me spending so much time to make my costume and no one get to see it.

Image

i took a red jacket and sewed all the spikes and belly and eyes on it.

i kicked around a little bit today. i just did warm up stuff so i wouldnt strain anything.

this senior class is really taking its toll on me. i dont think ill be able to train as much as i had hoped for nyj, but its all good.

i miss footbaggers!
