Essentially, there is recently created group of players in the Toledo, OH area that have recently fallen for the sport of footbag.
Dont get me wrong, there is nothing like playing outside. Yet when cold (or inclement) weather strikes, it usually curbs everyone to inactivity.
A few of us, getting much more serious and into the sport, have been searching for a place to use to play hopefully both freestyle and net (like a gym sort of area).
Yet, sadly, all attempts of securing a location have fallen through. Schools/churches seem like easy places to find, but i know there are a lot of groups out there and i was wondering where at and in what kind of environments these groups play. Even how that place was secured would be cool to know.
And just to throw this out there, if anyone is from the Toledo, OH area, PM me and we'll have to hook up sometime.

you need:
a flat surface. If it is grippy, consistent, clean, and doesn't eat footbags (ie: not concrete), that is best. I prefer thin carpet.
protection from the elements - ie: indoor.
it's even better if you have:
access to bathrooms, water fountains, adequate lights, and electricity.
Colleges / universities are FULL of places like that. Investigate into local academic juggling clubs - perfect place for freestyle (and to expand your juggling skills).
In NYC, they rent a dance studio from session to session. It's not too pricey. You could also find a local gym that allows non-members to pay their way in for a few hours.
I've never set up an indoor net, nor have I secured a spot for one, so that's up to you to figure out

If you're in school, set up a club. Its really easy to do, makes it hard for you to get kicked out of school spaces, and you can usually even wring some money from them.
If you're out of school, you can still usually find good spots on university campuses or high schools. You'd be amazed what kind of good spaces are left unlocked after hours.

Often, during normal hours, if you pick an out-of-the-way spot in a student union, it will just be assumed that you guys are a group of students and friends of students. See my video, A Jam in Toronto (on Youtube) for an example.

I guess we might be in a unique situation.
I am in the process of making a footbag organization at my particular university.
However, the members of our group actually come from two universities within the area and a local high-school. All of these places are within 20-30 min of eachother tops.
So, it would be easy to find a place on campus to play, but it would be out of the way for some members.
Thus, i have been trying to avoid campus locations for this group, although they are not completely ruled out. Better than nowhere.
