Retiring - Footbag was Fun
Retiring - Footbag was Fun
I never play footbag, visit this forum, or attend tournies anymore. I've found my life has taken a turn toward a different lifestyle, but before I go for good, or never make it back here, I'm just going to throw out a little bit of thanks. After all, I would have never got into this sport if it wasn't fun.
People who made footbag a sport for me, thanks brahs, and peace out.
Richy Abshire
Nate Linscott
James Erickson
Jason Crook
Damon Mathews
Lon Smith
Kenny Shultz
Chad Devlahovich
Sam Colclough
Emily Kulchik
Accomplishments since 2002 since I started:
First footbagger in Iraq War zone kicking guiltless (9 months)
Best trick US Open 07 (Gyro food)
Demo'd in the Padres Stadium Easter Sunday 2007 for Duncan Footbags
Good times

Good luck! It was great meeting you and hanging out at Worlds in Florida! Funny that you would post this, I was just thinking of you earlier, of the time when you said coffee was your favorite energy drink.
keep us posted of the cool stuff going on in your life!

I've seen videos of you, you are a really good, but this is crazy. But promise me that you would play some bag if somebody walked up to you and knew who you were and asked for you to play.

You probably saved a few years of a footbag career for me, and possibly even added a few in the future by your instruction at USO this year. Everyday I am doing each stretch your told me that would help my back injury, and by your word my back is no longer in any pain, or fear of pain.
It would have been nice to see you at a future tournament, but it is obviously understandable that you wish to officially retire. I wish you the best of luck.
Your worlds 2007 video would have been great, by the way.

Dude, we have never met, but the videos I have seen of you are absolutely sick. I hope your life, in all of its turns, brings you through ALOT of good times and minimal bad times. If you decide to truly retire, then go for it, but don't forget that even when life changes, watching that bag go up and down as you flow around it can be peaceful. I hope you play if you NEED to.
STAY RIPPED > STAY COOL > STAY STRAIGHT
ps. this makes me want to bulk up so that there are at least a couple of huge ass footbaggers out there

I am proud to be in your signature.
I appreciated your advice at USO on stretching as well, even though the pictures were absolutely hilarious.
See you around, perhaps

Wow! You're not even 30 yet. But I think I officially retired at something like 26, and I totally understand!!!
It has been awesome and inspiring to watch you grow over the years from a skinny little soldier (19) spending hours in my backyard trying to hit flip barfly for the second time ever, to a strapping young man that could crush a beer can with his eyelids. LOL
Take care bro, and remember this...although you have retired, you will NEVER stop playing footbag. Somewhere one day you will pass a hacky sack circle and want to stop so bad and just tear it up...and you will give in.

PS. Don't be a stranger.
Go out and shred already.
