Kicked for about half an hour after work. All I could because I had some freelance work to do for a friend. Sucked having to take his money, but he offered it. So, yeah- it was a full day.
So I kept the session limited to trying to slow down osis so that I could keep it closer in, hold it longer and link tricks out of it. Then I can really make some dynamic links out of diving and ducking osii.
Also, I tried some blurs and atomics. Apparently I forgot to spin even once. Hah!
Anyway, it was nice to refresh my memory of osis based, long strings.
Also, it was nice to hit some of the nicest strong side pixie sets I have ever hit, utilizing what I have learned from schooling the weak side.

Kicked last night with Matt.
Cold and humid session after 9 hours of work in an over AC'd environment. Felt like swimming through polar bear mucous. Barf. Started getting a heat rash on my neck again, but this time it was easilly around 50 degrees outside, if not lower. Despite this all there were a few moments.
Highlights:
*über-controlled osis-weak rip
*osis-simple swirl repeat-pm-"fist-pump" and gleeful banter
*Smear-leg (new combo)
*lots of promise for osis-swirl because of my "new osis" development
*Hippy atomic ss muted osis (new move)
*Ducking osis-twirl-string-ducking osis (other side from)- whirl-pm- celebratory hand grab
*couple decent strings
*a couple decent spin moves

Kicked with new bags. They are lighter than I am used to. They are exposing flaws in my form. Well, many of my flaws were apparent already, but now they are exaggerated and I can't run away from them. This is for the best.
I schooled mostly deeper stalls, spins and I also practiced dt paradon. I am so close.

Kicked a bit in the cold. No vid:
Highlights:
*Osis b2b >10X several times. Once more than 15, but I was not counting at the time
*long string with ducking osis bsos twice, and change
*osis-blur-string-flip osis-footed rip
*spinning clipper first try, followed by spinning clipper bsos the next string
*footed a few paradox torques off my right side clipper
*practiced my new form of whirl (whole body coming down with the bag, and landing into the trick.) Hit a few and it shows a lot of progress. Since my right knee hurt too much to kick yesterday I air-shredded whirls at home to get to down the motion in a calmer, controlled manner. The idea was to both loosen up my knee and to avoid other, further injury. Discovered several areas to improve, especially raising my knee and pointing my leg out before starting the motion- which means twisting at the hips
*May have hit a new move: Flip Tomahawk. I footed it multiple times and sunk it nicely on before stringing. What I can't tell is whether or not I got the full dex- so I will claim it once I have either a live or digital wittness
Hope I don't catch a cold. That was so much fun!

Here is an experimental video I threw together using fragments of output from ideas I am working on.

I have so much of this crap to use. I need to organize it ASAP.
Also, I felt I should post it now before I get accused of using Canny objects because of Will Digge's video.

Hey Jake! Kaiser says hello!
Dang. I just arrived in NYC and it's great to be home, but it's not footbag weather. Hopefully I can convince someone to kick with me sometime tomorrow, or I will shred in Central Park by myself.
Last night was worth blogging about- which is why I am on this thing atm:
Saw Bob's Shred-Barn. Wish I could have stayed longer. It's great. The light is perfect, etc. I could go on but seeing Kaiser for the first time in about 12 years was the highlight, followed by spending time with the Reiferman on his turf. Jess had a great time too. Great people.
Anyway- I am back home so fuck the internet.

Man, I came here to save the blog from disappearing. I should have figured you'd keep it alive from out of town. That video is fuuuuuuuucked up. I love it.
Seattle, NYC...Uh, yeah, Steel City Freestyle is officially putting it down across the entire country.
I played today. It was fun. Twenty minutes of shred and about fifteen of catch with this little girl and her cousin who live across the street.
Spinning diving mirage? I don't hit cool new tricks much anymore, haha, so that's the best I got. And scorpion's tail, wish I could get that one on lock.

Back in PGH.
Kicked in NYC yesterday with Ben. After a bit Wasabi showed up. Then my old friend the Dolercoaster made a surprise visit.
Ben is unbelievably talented and has a great style. Ben hit some notable stuff. Very original, difficult and natural looking: Locomotion, nuclear dyno, stepping ducking gyro rake, simple rev. swirl x6, etc, etc.
Wasabi's game has gained a level or two since I last saw him. Stringing a more, and hitting some impressive tricks.
Bruce was kicking in pants but he still hit many double dexes.
Highlights:
*simple swirl x5
*simple swirl x6
*eclipse x5
*new move (I think): spinning gyro toe- string
*new style of hippy atomic- less symposium-ish
*paradox leg on stable (right side) third try
*frozen osis is getting better
*spins were decent- have to remember the final delay before a consecutive spin. Just because I waited on the first does not mean it carries over to the second. The pains of thinking like a programmer. The benefits of checking your code.
*My knee is a bit out right now. Probably because I had some very long strings while kicking with Ben. It could also be because of the leggy fluxes and leggy atoms that I was demonstrating to him.
I have been thinking about how temporal my favorite players are. Today they are Ben, Ken and Mark-Jazzkid (with the implied appendage of Vasek, Clavens and Moir). And, I know that next time I kick with Tripp this will all change again. The same can be said for Matt Beall. Fuck lists. I always hated high school.

Dude, don't forget to post about how three high school girls asked for your autograph...and wrote a still unread message for us on a park bench.
You thought two shirtless, pasty white guys jumping around the public park in short-shorts was creepy? Ain't nothing until you add three fourteen year old girls loitering and giggling from ten yards away. Hahaha.
Why, oh god of footbag, do the twenty-somethings not find our hacky sack mastery so irresistable? The age old lament.
