Which reminds me- we just celebrated our 6th year anniversary yesterday.

I have brownies in my left hand and Leffe Blonde in my right. I just ate some of a 20lb vat of the best Hungarian Beef Goulash I ever made.

30 is the new 20 motherfuckers. And, life couldn't get any sweeter.

Hahahahahaha, F you Bob Riefer! F you!

Always enjoying them, MC. Actually, I think I'm going to go ahead and take the credit for your bags being so heavily kicked in the PGH these days.

MC: The bags you sent are a LOT lighter than the ones you made me in the past. They require me to step up my form in a major sort of way. In order to play with them I have to sink into my stalls far more than I was before. This is all very good for my game, but has killed my string length for the interim.
Overall, however, I see myself adjusting to this and making massive improvements in the process. I already have. Improved spins, infinities and rev. whirls.

Thinking about a late night session tonight but I am not yet convinced that I live in a safe enough neighborhood for such behavior. I guess I will see once I have backed up this laptop, reinstalled an earlier OS and get my isight cam to work again. I seem to have "broken" it while beta-testing "maxforlive".

ya, I could definitely see how that's the case. I've been trying to make my bags a bit lighter, but if you want to make them like the ones you had in the past, a cheap solution is to get a plastic straw and buy a box of shotgun shells. Pry them open with a butter knife or something, and dump the lead into the footbags with the straw. Slice the straw down the side about a centimeter and roll the straw into a cone, and put it in one of the bleed holes.

I just bought a scale, so, I can make future bags any weight that you like. I'll make sure the next ones are exactly what you want.

Thanks for the suggestion. I could just use some of the many dying bags I have for fill, but I am going to continue to train with these the way they are.

One bit of advice that Dave once gave was that within reason, variations in bag weight shouldn't matter. I believe this thoroughly. And, the bags are great.

On the contrary! The keyboard is quite tasty

I just finished kicking and the orange bag is breaking in very well. And, it's so visible! Thanks Matt.

Kicked today for about half an hour. The fact that I got 5 minutes of footage out of it makes me very happy, but my body is totally out of practice, and I have a bunch of weight to shed.

*gyro paradox mirage, both tries
*strongest spins ever on my left side
*toe set left whirl? First try? New move?

Kicked with Matt:

Matt hit some major-cool stuff.

Personal highlights:
*rs gyro osis (first try)
*hippy atoms twice on weak side, once on first
*spinning clipperx2-spinning osis-drop on pm
*new move- spinning dyno on left side
*some decent strings
*some wauxspins

EDIT:
also hit:
*gyro pm both sides, almost bsos- one side may be a new trick
*finally let myself hit spinning inf. again and it felt smooth

I am so excited to have spins coming together. I imagine that my game will have greater length, variety and excitement in the near future- they already do!

Kicked.

Practiced spins. I hit it a few things that I was very pleased with:

*Spinning clipper x2- whatever on both sides
*Spinning clipper- wauxspin- string
*Spinning clipper- ripwalk- string
*2 consecutive tries at hippy atom on left side (no video)
*Some decent strings

Footage on the way.

Kicked. No video. No music. No idea how long. Very peaceful. Uncharacteristically productive.

Highlights:
*Practiced consecutive left toe stall, both muted and planted. N= needs improvement
*Greatly improved my flip (left) pixie
*Dimwalk x about 7 or eight over the course of the session (I think)
*Frozen weak pm-dimwalk x2 (dropped another one, but the hard parts were clean)
*Deep ducking clippers X5 or more- either hand-grabs, pm or an intentionally short string X20. I tried to redo and not count ones that were either thin, the, rushed or sloppy
*(Deep) ducking clipper- (deeper) rev. whirl- repeat
*Multiple strings with (Deep) ducking clipper- (deeper) rev. whirl, bsos
* Practiced a different form of taking clipper weight (more with the calve, and less brutally on the knee.) This makes a major improvement to my game. It was the reason I was able to achieve the second highlight, but it took a minute for me to figure out that my basic game overall was suffering from a lack of it, and not just my ducks.

Note to self- remember each butterfly is as important, demanding (and potentially cool) as an olly. It is disrespectful to both yourself and the game to link filth in public. If not only because I have been playing as long as I have and I already know better.

*A couple longish strings with solid form. One of which demonstrated how solid butterflies can lead to popping, downtime, better controlled dynos-bsos.

Kicked with Matt:

Highlights:
*xbdy rake-gyro toe-dropped on wauxspin
*footed gyro-pm bsos, sealed it multiple times both sides
*some great hippy legbeaters, both sides
*blurs on my rights side, footed first two tries on weak side. The form was there but I didn't want to take the time to things
*Weak pixie is so close, but it keeps hitting my body (too close.) Perhaps I lean foward when I jump off of the supports leg. Hmm.
*toe-op whirl bsos- string- ducking clipper- rev. whirl- repeat- string- rev. whirl- drop on rev. whirl (strong side)
*spinning clipper- torque on right side (first try)
*spinning clipper- twirl on left side (first try)
*some weak simple swirls
*learned how to do consecutive weak side toe stalls in a normal manner (thank you Matt)

After Matt left:
*mid time legover b2b:33 contacts, within three tries (C-Fan challenge)
*mirage-legover b2b: 19 contacts, within three tries (personal challenge was 20, but I was comfortable with taking this, this since I was running out of time for other important things in my life
*I bailed on my plan to hit consecutive ducking butterflies for the same reason. On the plus-side, I was doing these mid-string and they were looking good, for the most part.

Kicked. Magnificent day. Eating a pineapple. It may have gone bad, but I told my gf that if I bought it I would eat it.

Highlights:
*30 b2b Leg-overs. Took me about an hour today. Perhaps because I didn't warm up first. Perhaps because I kept dropping at about 26 in the beginning.
Anyway, I hit 26 several times, hit 29 a couple times, footed 30 at least once, and then, finally sealed 30 with double-handed blind catch behind my back. Took forever. The good news is that I am learning how to execute this trick with good form.
*20 contacts of leg-over-mirage-repeat, within 5-10 tries. Nothing compared to the other challenge.
*Footed 12 pickups b2b (C-Fan asked me to see how many I could hit.) I started at 3, finally got the point where I was footing 7 three times, footed 10 and then decided I had to at least seal 10- which is why I settled at 12. I would have gone back and tried for 15, but Jake's friend Cat walked by with some cool dude named after an Ohio city, and by the time we were done chatting it was too dark to kick.
*Weak mirage x10, at least. I know I hit my goal but I forget how much farther I went with it.
*Ducking clipper x18, and then x22, followed by 16-18 later on in the session. Each one is a personal record. I also hit >X5, deeply, b2b, around 5-6 times. I would have done a full 20 of these, but I ended up chatting and it became to dark to continue.
*While chatting I footed ducking ss wauxspin first try.
*My legs feel so good right now. I want to kick some more sooo badly!!!!
*The pineapple isn't that bad actually. Spotty but intense. After all of those leg overs I can feel each cube hit my stomach. It's a good feeling. It reminds me of being a broke kid in the East Village. Back when I was 35-40lbs lighter and would have killed to gain some weight :) . I have lot's of work to do at the moment but I can't complain- life is good.

hey Ian, I think those exercises you're working through will do more good for your game than you can imagine right now. I've always thought athleticism is just fine in your case, just some combination of improved balance, footwork, efficiency to bring it together. And I think these drills will help do that.

Kicked but it was a wack session. I didn't have the momentum to do my drills because I have installing the last two days. Also, I was overdressed because it magically warmed-up this evening. Strange day. Earlier I had a mac min I bought get messed up within 30 minutes of acquisition by a tech installing 4 gigs of ram in it. Just a strange, day. Oh, and I really miss my sessions in Arsenal park, but I will be getting off too late to enjoy them in daylight for the next couple weeks. Wack, wack, wack, wack, wack. Time to get fat and bitterer. Yeah right. TOO many awesome things going on. Seriously. My regular game is strong and I feel youthful. I have a great space in an upcoming show, etc, etc.

I will post the vid of today in a bit. It is mostly me trying to hit guilty C-Fan drills. Since he is one of the two people that comment on my vids, no is allowed to complain about the content :-)

Oh yeah, and for those in the know there is a total surprise in the end of it.
