is anyone still searching for a room like me?

I could book one room in the hotel, so if anyone still has no room from the 26th to the... lets say 29th of December we could share it.
Or maybe there is even some space left in another room, so let me know if I could eventually sleep there...

Who plans to stay in Chicago after the event for shred and party?

See you soon!

To be frightfully honest, I haven't booked my tickets yet. I'm in the same boat as Nick - finances. My dental insurance expires early February of next year, and since Christmas is so close to the weekend I'm contemplating on whether I should fly straight after the holiday.

So, 50/50 chance. Maybe lower, like, 35% at the very least. :|

PS: If there's room available, I'd like to know. PM and/or e-mail me (the second option sounds best, since I haven't really kept a close eye on modified recently).

Wow, so many updates! I'm excited.

Also, I've updated the first post again. I've added the following lists:

Needs crash space
Christoph Landorfer (Larni)
Kyle Hewitt (+3 others?)
Joey Michels (Runkstafari)
Cale McCoy
Cory Allen

Has crash space
...

Let me know if I have any of that info wrong. If anyone needs to add people to their rooms, please post. And you folks on the needs crash space list should think about pulling together & get a room. If you can't book a room because of age and/or lack of credit card, PM me.

Oh man, I wish I had enough money so I could go and chill with Milan. I'd sell my left-icle to be able to come to this NYJ. Outlandish fail :(

Lots of people will show up early and stay late. It makes no sense to start a footbag event on sunday but thats the holiday fest dates. So people will be in town early. And it makes no sense to run out of Chicago right b4 ny eve, theres lots of parties and stuff to do here. so people will stay late. You just gotta talk to some people and meet up to shred before the event, or make friends to hand out wiht after. It always works out well at a footbag tourney unless you never speak to anyone.
Milan- The closets at the hotel have a toilet built in...

This is gonna be so awesome! My original plans were to be home by Monday night, but I'm gonna have to find a way to talk Paulene into letting me stay late. She's going to be pissed.

Milan- Both events are same. The jam part is called nyj, If you compete or watch the competition - that part is called midwest regionals. We didnt get to do midwest regionals this year so its part of NYJ.
From Scott's post on footbag.org- Events Offered:

Singles Freestyle Routines (Open/Pro 2:00 minute, Intermediate 1:00 minute),
:30 Shred (Open/Pro, Intermediate),
Doubles Footbag Net (Open/Pro),
Freestyle Jam Contest (Novice),
Consecutive Challenge (Novice),

Jon got it right. The Tournament part is running concurrently with the New Years Jam at McCormick Place site from 10-4 on the 27-28th. The Jam will continue unofficially after that, in Hyatt complex, but details on that can't be arranged until the day of the event.

Two things that suck... we have no carpet this year, and we had to cancel Net events due to lack of interest, lack of carpet and my complete lack of ability to engineer an indoor court in the complete absence of anyone who seems to want to help.

As for events offered, CIC and I need to have a meeting to iron out the schedule, so come out, have fun and roll with the punches if there are any late changes.

THANKS for your support!

To avoid confusion at footbag.org, I have removed the NYJ event from the listing, after combining it officially with the 25th Midwest Regional Footbag Championships. All official info is located at: http://www.footbag.org/events/show/1255269216

Just to avoid future confusion, NYJ is running in conjunction (i.e. at the same time) with 25th Annual MW Regional Footbag Championships. 10-4, Dec. 27-28. Simple. Just get there. See ya!

Thanks for your understanding.

Im still calling it NYJ :) Its not great that we dont get carpet anymore? But its always the players that make an event a success. :D
Freddy should bring a spare fixed gear bike for Tom Mosher to show us his tricks on as a show during routines judging :P
