French freestyle footbag DVD teaser

Post by Fkystyl »

Here is the result of 4 years work.

Since I meet footbag 10 years ago and learnt about the sport and the spirit, I have always wanted to spread to others what I received. So I started to work on some teaching video. Yet I wanted to have a perfect product, and a perfect product has to be well explained, well filmed and well edited. But it also has to be well distributed otherwise no one knows about it. And that was the hardest part of the job.

So as to get the product I wanted I associated myself with Pierre from U-nanim.works, and armand another guy specialized into cinema rights. I got in touch with a few majors companies and I finally decided to work with Warner Music entertainement. The other difficulty was to convince them that the dvd had to be sold with a footbag inside the box.

So here it is, the DVD is available in many shops all around France , with a footbag inside. Anyone in France can now have a footbag and a private teacher, and I am really happy about it.

So I hope the dvd will be a succes in France which will make Warner want to translate it and commercialize it in many other countries. It of course means that it has to be sold as much as possible and not downloaded  . Acording to me, we have now the perfect tool to promote the sport, yet if it is downloaded and not sold, the dvd will remain a french product and not a worldwide one... which would be a fucking shame.

Note that this dvd is not dedicated to footbaggers but to anyone who doesn't know about the sport. That is why it has three parts, a video clip part to tease, a teaching part to teach the techniks, and a documentry to spread the spirit of the sport as it is seen and lived by some of the best players in the world.

There are only 14 tricks in the teaching part (the hardest being the osis); I prefered to have just a few but well explained and detailed with tips and good exercices whereas 50 tricks with no explanation. I think that in freestyle footbag as in skateboard or other such sports, you just need to be told the basics and after you can evoluate by yourself, watching others playing.

I have also been very attentive to the music since without it freestyle is more Hacky than dance and a creative activity. So we bought the rights among all to use a song from Amon Tobin (Ninja Tunes).

Check the teaser:

Hope that you will apreciate it and that the dvd will be distributed in as many countries as possible to spread our sport.

A big thank to my two associates without whom the dvd wouldn't have looked so good (Pierre) and wouldn't have been distributed by a major company (Armand).

wow

It seems unreal to walk into a store and see anything about freestyle footbag other than sipa sipas. Kudos for pushing the development of the sport/art.

If you are able to get the DVD and ship it out to the Midwest, I would LOVE to have a copy of this DVD (even if it's in French)!

I would pay good money to own this!

I'd paid, like, $80 to have it shipped from Paris to Central Canada. And I don't understand a word of French. I'm hardcore.

hey guys, thx a lot for your support, that's really appreciable, i have put almost 4 years of my life in this project so such reactions really come straight to my heart

what i can do with pleasure is buy some and send them to u, and u will just have to send me the exact price of the dvd (that i do not sell myself since Warner is the exclusive distributor) + shipment which should not cost 80 $ :)
but maybe Fourkast will distribute them even though we still have a few rights problem to deal with before

two things u may know first :
the dvd was made for none footbaggers mainly in order to promote the sport
and not sure the dvd can be read on the north American's machin's, this is a european standard DVD (PAL)

Hey Fkystyl

Is that 80 dollars total, or added onto the base DVD price?

If anybody knows if it runs out here in the US of A, please let me know, and I would have no problem dropping 80 on this film.

Thanks much

As you can see on this page : http://video.fnac.com/a2439664/Footbag- ... &Nu=1&Fr=0 the dvd costs 26 euros, I do not know how much it is in US dollars or CAN dollars. Just add shipment that I still don't how much it is, probably around 10 euros.

I sent it to a musicien who has one track on the DVD, he lives in NYC and told me that he could not read it. Don't know if he could do it since then

I played it on my PC and it worked fine. I assumed it wouldn't work on a DVD player on account of PAL. F.Y.I.
