San Francisco push!

I do not mean to step on anybodies lavers here, I respect NY, LV, and other clubs seeking to host worlds, and I know it is a huge responsibility (creatively, financially, and time consuming) to host worlds, but am I to understand that worlds is going to be in North America, and the final decision is still up in the air?

When I heard that it might be in San Francisco, I got really excited because I would really like worlds to be there, for my sake, and everybody who wants to go there. I will get straight to the point, and say that I heavily favor SF Worlds, and would like to show my support and rally anyone else who might also desire a SF Worlds. I hope that people share my hopes, but I thought it would be nice to see what shredders want with all due respect.

I will list why I have my opinion, and encourage others to do the same, but please keep it professional.

1.) I think San Francisco is easy to navigate, safe, affordable, beautiful.

2.) It is fairly close to where the US Open will be, and international players will have an opportunity to see TWO great US footbag scenes in a small amount of time.

3.) San Francisco has historically been close to the heart of footbag, and its parks can revitalize this sport and promote it well.

4.) It has not been on the west coast for 8 years, east coast (Montreal and Orlando) twice in the last 5 years.

5.) Calieee dreaming baby. Music, weather, party, culture, basically one of the coolest pound for pound cities in the world. It is a pleasant place to shred.

6.) 'FLash', Dave, Jim, Nick, Lon, Evan, Pete, Victoria, Vancouver, Seattle, Portland, Medford/Eugene, Boise, Vegas, SF, LA, SD, ---All west coast baby. Big numbers! Lots of $. Bling Bling. You got game, bring it.

7.) Lots of nice pretty hippy girls who could potentially love footbag guys.

I do not want to say anything negative about other places. Just positive things about where it could be and why. If you have any input, I and I am sure others would like to hear it. Thanks. Rock the vote. Hope, change, all that good stuff.

Is that you Ted? I mean Mr. Ted. Yours were the lavers I did not want to step on specifically. You are like a god to me. If it does go to NY, I will not complain too much, I am sure it will do well.

Oh, and I am claiming Montana as west coast too. Sorry about that guys. Did not mean to leave you out.

with all due respect, it SOOOO doesn't matter where you want worlds to be or whether you find SF a better place for the tournament. or the majority of players, as a matter of fact.

the only thing that matters at this point is: who's going to do it? and how? there is only seven months left, so let's just hope for those who have the energy to do the best out of it.

believe me, you'll also prefer a 120% dedicated worlds crew to do it in NY to a half assed SF one. or the other way around. i'm sure nobody's gonna do it half assed, but just to make the point clearer.

of course the idea of worlds in SF can get you exciting, and you're entitled to your opinion (and voicing it). just felt like i had to say something.

Yes, I agree, it is just a modified thread, and its worth is limited, but it is still cool to vote, or voice an opinion, if you have one, and that does matter. I am still worried that there will not be a worlds at all, and made the thread just to say hey, please do it, and do it in SF. I think that it would be the best place this late in the game, and let's rally together to offer what we can do to help them if possible. If New York can do that too, great! I wish them the best, love, good fortune, and I will see you there.

Whoever does worlds I hope does a good job as well, obviously. I receive a great amount of enjoyment by going to worlds as often as possible. I went to Berlin last year and it was one of the greatest weeks of my life. I tell people about it all the time. It was my second European competition (not a lot to compare it with) but there were things that I saw there that were very professional and very well done. Particularly, my basic needs were meet as far as food, sleep, transportation, and party. Plus, you all spoke English so well, it saved my non-German speaking self a good deal. These needs were met very well, which overall, added a great deal to my experience. Of course the actual footbag stuff went well too.

If it goes to San Francisco, I want to help see to it that some of these things happen some more, like nice shirts, good music, and after parties. San Francisco 2002 was my first worlds, and it changed my life. I would like to see it change another kids life like me. I did not even own a pair of footbag shoes or a quality footbag at that time.

Ha ha Kevin. That is funny you piece of shit. I accidentally put you on my ignore list, but I didn't mean it. Is that an uncle of yours? I didn't meet him when I came to Montana Jam last May. I hope worlds this year has some facilities like that.

There doesn't seem to be an overwhelming desire to have worlds in San Francisco at this point. Only 22 votes so far, and only four more votes for San Francisco than New York.

I've been traveling a lot for footbag tournaments and can't even fly anymore since I spent so much.

So for that reason I would like New York.

But anywhere, I'll be there.

New York is so close I would be in attendance 100%. San Fran is further and slightly less likely for me but is somewhere I would rather travel to.

Id like to see the proposals.

I would love for it to be in NYC! It's not too far or expensive to GET there, but lodging could become a problem for people.

I haven't been to a Worlds event yet, so if it is in the US I'm going to try to make it, regardless of location. New York city also has a lot to offer for out-of-town people, museums, parks, bars, music, etc. I'd push for NY
