Funny commercial
I got a kick out of this. I don't know if this is the right place to post this, if anyone wants to move it to a different spot feel free.

Don't be apathetic. I saw this commercial and thought the same thing that Zjeezy and Jazzkid said. I totally think that it was a careless mistake by Direct TV, and I think they should hold up to it too. I do not think anybody will be laughing, and if this guy really would enjoy watching the national hacky sack finals, who knows how many other people would as well.
Is anybody interested in signing a petition if I write one up? I will mail it to their corporate office and follow up on it. It might be an infringement of John Stallbergers' copyright (if it hasn't run out), and hovers a very fine line on false advertising by saying they have it. Did anyone know about this?
Does anyone have a father who is an attorney?
Would people be against being on national television?

Look what I found -- http://www.directvadsales.com/Company.aspx#0-1
I'm not sure a confrontational approach or trying to 'hold them to it' is the best strategy. I just emailed Rich Forester (see the link) a very friendly, enthusiastic email asking about this commercial. I think it would be great if a lot of people voiced their enthusiasm for seeing our sport on TV.
Some points I raised in my email:
Footbag looks great in HD
We're a dedicated community, we take pride in our sport
We're something new that a lot of people haven't seen before, but are impressed by
I know the commercial was a joke, but it would be awesome if it weren't
And basically don't be a dick about it, if you are gonna contact them. The worst thing they can do is say no.

I did not mean to seem too aggressive and 'dickly,' and you're right. I guess I got a little overexcited. I kind of felt awkward after the post to be honest, and kind of regret how I came across.
I completely agree with you, trying to manhandle them is probably not the best way to go, but I would strongly like to contact Direct TV and support a footbag competition on TV.
It has been recognized by European popular media over there. Why not over here? And it is not Hacky Sack! right Zohan!
Maybe if the company gets a huge response from our community, and a formal request is submitted with lots of peoples signatures kindly asking for some air time, who knows what it could lead up to.
Thanks.

No worries! You might not have even been directing the comment entirely at me, and I just took at as that so it was my bad for getting defensive, but cool. Thank you and good job on getting the contact information to Direct.
I contacted Direct TV and am waiting. Only called one person, but I will go down the list in my quest. I do not believe that they will be the primary people that will broadcast "nationals" but they can help and they will know who else to notify. I am working on my petition draft and contacting other stations. Infocus sounds cool. Hopefully they will help too.
