Purely based on style, here's my top five of current players (in no order)

-Johnny Sudderman.
-Luis Monhollon.
-Scott Bevier.
-Jorden Moir.
-David Clavens (the two version : the machinne and the more creative one).

It's easier to make a top5 about style than level IMO.

no order:

matt cross - wicked style, sweet bags, unrivaled when wielding his guitar, cool guy
nick landes - apart from beeing one of the most gifted persons that ever massaged me he realy has a great way of doing the hacky game and realy is a very cool guy to hang around
erik chan - cant tell everyone how much he inspired my game, and not only with the ol rev whirl style

every finish player (!!!1) - seriously there must be something in the water or so up there.
5th one is hard... one of the following: vasek, honza, jorden, dave c, penske....

Of the people who I think/know still play footbag:

Flash Gordo Beaver (I play with him regularly, and I know he's amazing)

Serge Kaldany (that's the guy from France right? Super Skillz, Super Smooth)

Milan Benda (I'm surprised he's not one EVERYONE's list...)

Tuukka Antikienan (Super awesome person, and a great freestyler. If I had my way, he'd be at every tournament that I go to.)

Anssi Sundberg (for sure one of the best in the world. i hope to be able to shred with im again)

As for Vasek, Jim Penske, Jordan Moir and/or David Clavens, but I don't think they play much anymore, so I left them out.

Vasek doesn't play much anymore? I thought he just won worlds again a few months ago. You're telling me a guy who doesn't play much can come to worlds and beat some of the best footbaggers in the world? If thats true, Vasek is a beast and should still be in your top 5. I hope he still plays alot.

By the way, you're becoming one of my favorite footbaggers, at least in the US for sure. Very clean style, I will try to imitate some of it if thats okay. Love the osis style you have.

You're right, he is the best footbagger in the world, and he is the best in the history of footbag thus far.

Red and I were having a conversation about this topic and determined that if you rate a footbag player on skill, you have to take into consideration the advancements that he/she has made to the game, along with personal records of add categorized moves, and competitive achievements.

Vasek has pushed the level of play for the professional footbag scene well beyond the level of skill 5 years ago, holds/held most of the records for consecutive add-related freestyle, and has won too many competitions to count (well, I'm actually too lazy to look up all of that information, I'm sure someone could get a specific number if it mattered).

If this is the comparison, then Vasek is supreme, followed closely by Dave, Jim, and Honza. The last person would be Jordan for me.

I think what I was trying to avoid is listing the same four/five people (i.e. Vasek, Honza, Jordan, Jim, and Dave) because then the list is the same for everyone who analyzes the "best" on the same criterion that I lsited. The reason I decided to make that stipulation was that (as far as I know) none of these players are pushing their own game, and out of those, only Vasek and Honza were at worlds. Granted, some of the US players who would have done well couldn't afford to go, but I know that DC and Jim are kind of out of the scene.

That being said, all those who are amazing at footbag, and I have had the pleasure of playing with at worlds, were the ones I considered. Including personality, mixed with my personal preference of creativity, style, and difficulty, I arrived at the list I listed above.

WHY is Ryan Mulroney not even on this list?!

1. Ryan Mulroney, face it without Vasek to copy him

Well... who knows where the sport would have went.
2. Jim Penske, trust me its fun to be in a circle with him, really I realize that being in a circle with people who just get pissed at dropping tricks and what not = total boredom and makes me not want to even play.
3. Milan Benda, he's very charismatic after playing with him for some four days, and not to mention he really watches you play. Not to mention he cheers you on, and knows where you're really pushing the limit.
4. Flash, I think we should change the line to "Life is like Flash's trick selection, never know what you're going to get", but simply he always amazes

5. Lon Smith, the conversations he has in the circle are hilarious and very memorable.

Truth be told I don't think this really is my top 5 list as its just... well too hard to come up with something like that for me

But just my two cents.
