Hi Kevin,

I wish I could go camping with you, but I am in school again and I think I will only have a few days to shred in Vegas if I can make it.

There are some great areas around Vegas if you would like to visit some outdoor recreation areas, but Vegas is pretty unique in its own. You can hike through Vegas and see some of the finest crack dealers and prostitutes this country has to offer. I recommend the old town on Fremont Street.

Close by:

1.) Mt. Charleston (like Montana, but in the middle of the Great Basin/Mojave Desert).
2.) Lake Mead (not a breathtaking lake, polluted, but it is still okay)
3.) Valley of the Gods (Red Rocks, that's about it)
4.) Red Rock (closest and probably best bet! -check this out, just west of Vegas)

If you can drive 100~250 miles

1.) Bryce Canyon (one of the coolest places on the planet)
2.) Zion (like Bryce, but closer) (both about $20)
3.) The Grand Canyon (big hole in the ground, also $20)
4.) Joshua Tree (in a lot of movies you have/will see)
5) Sequoia (biggest trees in the world)

Well, there you have it. Those are all the places I went camping when I lived in Vegas last year. Hit me up if you have any questions the internet can't answer for you. Red Rock is probably what you want though since it is only 10 miles out of town.

Cool! Might actually drive to Minot, ND that weekend b/c it's been a long time overdue since I've seen my ex-roomate/one of my best friends. But might go to las vegas instead. It's still up in the air if the time-off will get granted or not.

North Dakota is the least visited state in the country. Think about it. Plus, you can have lots of bro-mances in Vegas.

I think that I need to get some chiropractic work done more than I need to hurt myself playing footbag, and seeing as how I don't have nearly enough money before that work to get a plane ticket, the only way I can foresee going is if someone wants to drive from P-town to Vegas.

This seems like a small chance, but might be do-able. The only thing is I need the chiropractic work to be able to sit in a car for 14 hours to a footbag competition, so we'll see.

Bummed about Ben :(

I might be able to hitch a ride with Aaron Shepard, cuz he said he'd be driving. Looks about 50/50 for me right now, but I really want to go and I really want to be in shape when/if I do, so I can't make any promises on being able to play well when I'm there if I go

I had some great news yesterday, but I will need to save as much money as possible.

the bad thing is this great news means I cannot attend any tournaments besides worlds if an airplane is needed because of costs.

But in september you can call me daddy !

Have fun everyone

Nick, you would be a great addition even if you couldn't play, and you are still an amazing player even if you are not at your best. And you know riding in the back seat of my car is like a ride on a cloud through the heavens. Did I mention we would drive on the extraterrestrial highway, where Area 51 is? Isn't that exciting! Maybe we will see something coooooollllll. 8O 8O

Screw North Dakota. Going to the vegas jam. Will post flight times when there's a credit card I can borrow.

Definitely down for a red robin crowl-session. Everytime I've been to red robin, Rory Dawson has been there too. Need to keep this tradition up.

richard abshire may possibly attend this event. also, i looked up hotel prices today. stratosphere is having a special that weekend for $66/night. not bad. there is always cheaper, and a select few will be able to stay with me and jeff, but since skaggs won't be attending, space is more limited than last year.

Garrr!! What happened to:
Lycanthrope wrote:i think there will be enough FREE crash space to go around. i'm pretty sure all of us will be able to host at our houses this year again, and i'm really not worried about being too packed. solid accommadations will come later. i will try to keep my initial post updated.
Should we start looking for hotels now or what?
