Well then, here's some bonus pictures then. All my heat in my workshop was racing up the stairs to the 2nd story, a sort of chimney effect. So I built a trap door out of old barn siding that I'd saved. Issue is that a door this big is really heavy. So I used a counterweights system to make it open effortlessly. Ultimately, when I finish the 2nd story, slimmer weights will be used so that I can hide the counterweights behind the finished wall. But you can imagine the end result:

had a fun session with drew yesterday. hadn't seen him in ages, and he hasn't been playing a lot, but he was fine. I was so sluggish from holiday cookies and beers, but played well enough. i'm so pumped to get back to a normal schedule and take my game and health goals to a new level.
highlights:
- pixie dlo is pretty much dialed on strong side
- hit very nice quantum butterflies on both sides.. these come easier to me than atomic sets. shrug.
- spinning clipper > zooming clipper to a run that later included a nice torque

hey drew, thanks for barn props
Pm'd you about kicking this weekend, it's free for me.
fun practice last night. exhausting. but fun. lots of "almost there" things last night, which can be almost as fun as actually hitting the trick. for example, toe blur is very close on one side. and I footed stepping ss torque. dragon stalls are hard for me.
that's all

holy cow that practice > lifting session was hideously brutal. exhausting I mean. And difficult.
highlights are mostly me not even hitting a trick! ha ha:
- footing clipper set ss dble pickup
- footing blurry whirl
- footing double over down (or maybe it's called down double down?.. clip ss dble out in dex ss clipper)
- hitting terrage again
- hitting toe blur for first time (on the weak quantum set even!)

fun session with drew yesterday. i didn't play well, but i didn't play poorly either. i'm defnitely more controlled and faster as a result of recent practice style, but it also messes with my ability to just flow and freestyle. but I expected that, and the gains are worth it.
more quantum stuff. i'm *this close* to saying "screw it" to atomic basically and just focus on quantum instead. it's so much more natural for me and it doesn't hurt my body. plus, i think it's less comon to see in runs, so that's a nice bonus. footed quantum ss mirage. hit a couple toe blurs. hit a few quantume butterflies on both sides.
hit dble pickup
footed down dble down on one side. far away on the other side.
stepping ducking continues to not be hit. therefore I'm mad at it.
spins are reliable in both directions now, time to increase the trick variety (currently, spinning clipper is 99% of my selection).
the first week of "health month" was a success.

practiced last night. btw, having a shred barn just out back was a good call by me. nice work riefer.
anyways, i started with 10 minutes of bops and tiltless because i've been missing far butterfly, which is just silly. got that sorted out.
then, 10 minutes of quantum and atomic. hit 10 out of 15 quantum butterflies on both sides, so that's pretty good consistency for a new set. did not hit any toe blur. hit 10 of 15 strongside atomic butterfly. only 5 of 15 on weakside. urgh.
then 10 minutes of tricks that i should own but don't for one reason or another. i forget which tricks the cards dealt me but i remember improving on them.
then 10 minutes of bread and butter tricks. all i remember is doing stuff from different sets. like toe set whirl instead of clipper set whirl.
then lifted
health month still in full swing

ugh, what a tiring practice last night. zero highlights, but you just have to remind yourself that you're getting better just by getting out there and working at it.
health month still in full swing.
edit: oh, and the wii system that we ordered arrived. we're going to have bowling parties in the shred room.
(wife wanted a wii to try the wii fit, but the bowling parties is the reason I went along with the idea)

some light freestyle last night after the kids were down. nothing even remotely interesting ocurred in 25 minutes worth of play. But, I played. woop dee doo.
then hooked up the new wii. tried to figure out bowling a little. then the wife got home and she immediately kicked my ass in bowling even though I'd had a head start learning. ha ha, it's all good. that'll be a fun addition to the shred room.
supposedly kicking with brian tomorrow

nice, well, health month is still in full swing. wife and i are doing great with the program. no booze, no snacks, lots of fruit and veggies, lots of water, good sleep habits, exercising 4 times per week. Basically, it's our normal lives except for the no booze thing. I think I'm really on to something with this program. After just 2.5 weeks, I'm getting comments at work of "boy, you look thinner, are you losing weight?". Wife, always a hottie in my opinion, looks hotter too.
Anyways, I didn't kick this past weekend at all. Just wasn't feeling it and I had other things to do that took a lot of strength/energy.
And boy did I feel great kicking last night as a result.
Small tweak to my cards program. The "should own" pile needs more attention than the others as these tricks are ones that I can do, just not consistently. The other piles are either farther out of reach, or already pretty darn consistent. So, each practice will include a mandatory 10-15 minutes (about a third of the practice) on that pile of tricks, and the remaining time will be randomly split on the other piles still.

freestyled a bit last night, then wii golf with neighbor
today, took kids to a museum and saw a 40 foot long skeleton of a gigantic crocodile. Woah.
came back and kicked for awhile. i hit midrun pixie op whirl so that was cool.. otherwise, just trying to get out of drill mode so I can be creative for a week or so. maybe longer. we'll see. Just not in a drilling mood for now.
after dinner, we took the kids to get some desert at a local diner. We never do shit like that, we always eat so healthy. Because of that, it was a really fun exception to our normal rules and the kids obviously loved it.
mellow night, more freestyle tomorrow. health month still in full swing (hey, desert is healthy once in awhile!)

Nice, health + practice + dedication = getting worse and worse at this stupid fucking sport. muther effing piece of crap urghhhhhhhhhhh
at least I'll only make the 10 of you that watch suffer through two shitty short strings. hate footbag right now. grumpy. edit2: 2nd string was only included to show you my reaction of disgust.
edit: hopefully when I'm not fat anymore, all this work will pay off.
