Hi everyone.

Things are going very well. I havne't had a single issue with ether side of my groin, and I've been training really hard the past month. I think I'm at the top of my game at the moment.

I'm in a talent show tomorrow, so I've been practising my routine mainly for the past week and half. Wish me luck, I should have a video up in a few days.

Toodles.

I didn't do very well in the talent show. I have the video, but it's 7 drops so it's not worth hosting.

In good news, I had my first outdoor session of the year today! It was super nice out. A lot of people stopped to give me compliments, so that was cool. The people who didn't stop insisted on walking as close as possible to me, and it leads me to believe that they are either really attracted to me/footbag, or are the least observant people on the planet.

Hope everyone is doing well. Talk to me on aim if you feel like it.

Got back from Worlds today.

Had a great time. Made Semi-Finals in Circle and Routines, but sprained my ankle afterwords, and couldn't compete in either next round. It felt good enough last night to play a bit, but I had a fine time watching and socializng for the second half of the tournament.

Thanks to everyone I talked to or hung out with; you all made this tournament worth it. If I missed any good byes, I'll see you all again soon.

Played today for the first real time since spraining my ankle; I played the last night of worlds, but not for long.

It was alright. A little rusty, and I stayed away from whipping motions on my ankle like swirl and blenders. Did some blazing stuff, which I've been wanting to do ever since David's workshop at worlds. Got some new stuff with it: whirling mirage bs, whirling legover bs, whirling pickup. It's a lot of fun.

I don't think I'll play again until I go back to school in 2 weeks, it needs a little more time to heal.

Don't play if it doesn't feel good is really the only thing. Some people try to power through their injuries when they're almost healed, but that just puts unneccesary stress on it, and lengthens the whole process.

Yeah dude once you've been injured enough you know to ease back into it.

-Matt good hanging with you at Worlds. Seriously, Court of the Crimson King was an epic routine song. I loved it. Bummer you had to get injured. Glad to see you're being smart about it.

-Cale don't try to suppress your desire to play when you're injured. It's fighting a losing battle. Instead, acknowledge your creative energy and your desire to play, and channel it into another medium. For me when I was out for 9+ months with a knee injury that meant getting into standup comedy and weightlifting. There are other places to channel your passion and keep it strong. And when your body is ready again, your passion for footbag will still be there, ready to play. Man that sounded freakin' hokey, but seriously, real talk.

I'm back to playing again. My ankle's still swolen a bit, but it doesn't hurt, so I'm ok with that. The first week after a break for me sucks, cause I really want to play, but I can only do like 2/3 of my normal stuff. It makes me want to not play, but I know the only way to get back to my normal level is to just make it through this week.

Learning blazing is a good time. My strong is getting to very consistent, and I can use it midstring. I hit a Dave combo on tape today with it =D. Flip is going well, but it just needs a little more work. I've hit all but one trick that I've gotten on my strong side with it, but they take a couple more tries.

Hope everyone is doing well, and sorry to the Funtastiks crew that I won't be making it. School's getting back started, and it's been a really long summer away for me, and I'm not ready to take a break yet. Hope you all understand =)

Hey all. Footbag is great. I had one of my best sessions ever today, and I feel myself improving very rapidly. I'm having a ton of fun with Blazing, my new favorite set. I can use it mid string now, and it feels really satisfying. Also learning Stepping Ducking, which is actually going well, and I hitt moves into and out of it today.

My strings also felt quite good, and I feel more controlled than ever. Hope everyone is doing well, and I'll see all my NYJ friends in December.

I turned 20 today. I don't feel much different, but it's nice getting a ton of birthday wishes. Life's going really well. My girlfriend and I celebrated our 2 year anniversary a couple days ago, which was a lot more exciting to me than yet another birthday. Classes are going well as well.

Footbag is also good, although I've been perpetually sore the past week. I have been playing a lot though. I can feel my drilling helping a lot, and am improving each day. I probably need more time to actually play though, as my strings aren't improving as much as my form. Oh well, it'll work itself out in the end.

Have fun at Kickass to everyone who's going.

We had the opening night of our show tonight. It was great. I only have a small part in it, but it's still a ton of fun. Plus I love watching my girlfriend act, and I get to see a lot of that.

Haven't been able to play much the past week because of rehearsals and shows, but when I have it's been really good. I have a new found power to all of my tricks after watching Dave a lot during worlds, and realizing that I didn't put a lot of effort into most of my tricks.

Been drilling core concepts, and working on symp eggs casually, and getting quite good at them. Got ps egg bsos, and blaze>symp egg, which I thought was neat.

Looking forward to seeing all my friends at NNYJ, and I hope all the usual peeps show up.

Thanks guys.

Footbag is fun. The days are getting colder; I'll have to play in the gym full time soon =/ I've been able to squeeze a few more outdoor sessions in though. I much prefer playing outside.

I think I drill too much. I "play" at the end of my drilling sessions, but only for 30 minutes or so, and I think it gets out of my system. I'm going to rework my weekly schedule to make more time for just playing. It makes me feel good to watch footage from now and compare it to a year ago, or 6 months ago and see how far I'm come. I'm extremely pleased with my game right now, even if I can't always tell during a session.

I really want to make a sequel to my Christmas calendar video last year ("A Night With The Arts"). That was actually a good video, and I can supply way better shred, so it should work out. Maybe take the best footage from a few sessions and call it "A Fortnight With The Arts". Eh? Eh?
