Hi.
Geez, it has been a while since I checked much on here...6 pages of unread threads. I am so busy with school and stuff as usual. Haven't played in months. I miss it. School and winter aren't much of a good mix. Blah. Well, I get off school for the holidays, and I may play some, but I at least want to finish that video I started on so long ago.

It's funny how I get too busy to play and check this forum. If I do check this forum, I quickly log back out seeing piles of pages of unread messages. I really have no urge to play at all. Then I finally catch back up some, and I am ready to go and want to play really badly now. Everyone's latest videos are entertaining me for now.

Still haven't played anything. I am planning it in my head eventually. Oh wait, I fooled around with my little cousin Christmas Day. I showed him a couple of basic tricks plus whirl with a kick in the leg. Yes, I have a huge bruise again. It looks like a big question mark right now...2 weeks later. I gave him a Sandman to play with after we were done.

I found the time to play some footbag last week for a little bit. For the first time in 2009!
Last night, I went out with some friends, and some guy was there doing card tricks. He was pretty good. I was trying to figure out his tricks and caught him on some and then got started into footbag and then we were into juggling and all that other weird stuff we do.
After destroying his deck with one trick, he busted out some contact juggling. Pretty sweet. He gave me his card and said he was starting a juggling club. Might be a start to get some people interested in footbag as well.
Oh, and I directed him to my videos, of course, and then David and Jorden with their magic and juggling. I wonder if he will actually check any videos out...

Hey, I played some footbag last Sunday. Yay! I kept up pretty well. I really, REALLY want to get dlo down. Its right there! I need to remember to try it while my legs are still fresh. Hmm...highlights...I hit something with whirl...now I forget.
It was like a random string of three decent tricks bsos. A bunch of my strings were longer than before. I think if I counted, I may have had a 20-contact string of the basics, which is pretty cool for me. I also hit this cool string with toe-set osiseseses, and I just kept spinning and spinning. It was fun. Hope I find more time to play soon. I missed it dearly.

So Kayleigh is visiting her daddy for a few days, and I am going to try to play as much footbag as I can while she's at it. Today, I hit diving osis and far illusion on each side. Not much else other than that. Just practiced the basics and random strings. By the way, my strings are much more random and not boppy like I used to be. I think I am beginning to see my own creativity (?) coming out.

hey crissy, nice to hear you're still going at it. since andrew moved here from atlanta we've been doing more circle. so i've been hitting tricks i haven't touched in 2-3 years. sometimes it feels like all my runs are the same & i'm for sure in need of some creativity. i think that since you're playing solo creativity is probably the best way to keep footbag fun for you.

Hey Elliott. I'm sorry I never replied back to you. I meant to. So are you guys still kicking? How have you and Emily been?
So I think I've been away for too long. I've been catching up on everyone's videos. Worlds just happened to be around, and I've been keeping up with that. Or maybe that is what sparked my sudden interest or whatever you wanna call it.
Anyways, I've been playing once or so a week. I hope I keep up with it. I have been focusing more on string length than anything. I think this video from today proves something about that:

Just a fun little run I hit today while trying to avoid a few obstacles in my way
I posted another video from Friday, too. I did it all in one day and am not really satisfied with the editing or whatever, but hey, it is a video long overdue from me.

So I have been enjoying my sessions. I want to add my bigger tricks into my long runs, too...torque, whirl, swirl, pixie legover...more toe stuff. I noticed I am a clipper lover. Maybe I will finally get drifter and dlo down, too! I think I have hit drifter plenty of times now. I just don't have anyone to confirm it.
Oh, and last weekend I was at a fair in PA and saw this kid playing hacky sack by himself. I was in the middle of having a panic attack out of nowhere and thought this would help get my mind off of things, so I went up to this...probably high school aged kid, poked him on the shoulder, and childishly asked, "Can I play with you?" What? Oh well. We played some. Blew the kid's mind away with a couple of basic tricks. I directed him to footbag.org and to the Pittsburgh guys. I wonder if he looked into anything.

I finally hit DLO!!!!!
I only did it on my strongside. For some reason, I went against the norm and practiced solely on my strongside until I got it. Now my flipside is behind. But I kind of footed it near the end of my session, flipside.
I'd like to work on smear next.
Other than that, I have been playing a few times a week now. I have perfected on DATWS and can hit them almost on call and have been trying to add them to my strings. Same with PLO.
I have been watching the Hackrifice video demonstrations, too...trying to increase my trick knowledge so that I can add more variety to my game. I don't think most three, maybe four-add, moves are too far out of my league...or double dexing tricks rather than adds??
I did some other stuff but can't remember what. Attempted blink. Been working on harder tricks now rather than string length for now.
Today's video!

Nothing special, just wanted to express my focus, anger, exhaustion...

Hola!
So I played for the first time this year. Yay! I only worked on the basic challenges Ashley D. gave me in my challenges thread how long ago. And I tried to really focus on the magic hop and staying on my toes to get started right for the year. Nothing special, but when I worked on osis back-to-back, I ended up finishing in a osis > spinning osis RPT string. It was fun. I really like spinning osis right now. And raking tricks.
That is all. I work til 2 tomorrow, so if it is a nice day I may play again. Any suggestions if so?

Hmm...so I decided to play footbag in the park twice this week. Both sessions were sweet.
The first session, I didn't do much but just kept busting long strings, and I have barely played at all this year since it is just now warming up and all. This little girl and her mom slowly moved closer and closer to me for her to watch (I was playing in a pavilion while they were fishing at a lake down the hill). She eventually, with the nudge of her mom, told me that I was good and asked if it was okay if she watched. I thanked her and told her that it was okay. After a while, I asked if she wanted to try with me, and she did. Turned out just tossing the bags around and stuff that a typical 6-year-old would do. Then her mom and i got into conversation, and then the girl asked if I had a kid. I answered her, and it all dawned on me...she went to the same daycare/school as Kayleigh! No wonder they all looked familiar. So we talked some more, played some more, exchanged phone numbers for the kids to have playdates.
The second session...haha...I passed my mom on my way in the car beside her as she was walking. I wanted to honk my horn at her, but I knew I'd give her a heart attack, so I crept up beside her and scared her just a little. Then I passed one of my favorite customers up as he was leaving the park! We chatted until I was blocking a car trying to get by. He questioned what exactly footbag was. Maybe he will get to see if I continue to go to the park to play, which seems like a definite. I had to play at a different pavilion this time, with less play space but closer to the path for more to see and wonder what the heck I am doing. Once again, I busted strings out of nowhere. I hit long strings of basics. I hit spinning osis bsos multiple times, which was really, really fun. I hit datw bsos a bunch of times and I think plo bsos...all another step up from my last sessions of simply hitting the tricks from a self-serve. Speaking of that, I hit ps mirage on each side and pdx whirl just to see if I still could. I could see all kinds of passer-by's slowing down and watching me. A couple people came into the pavilion wondering what I was doing the first time, too. It felt good.
I think playing in public gives me a better outlook on my sessions than playing out behind my place. Sure I am, but not that I am out for attention and to show off, but I just push myself at a more enjoyable pace, because nobody wants to look like a dummy dropping all the time and cussing the bag out, right??? Haha. So I think I'm going to try to kick at the parks more often.
Oh, and aside from the attention motivating me, I think my recent working out has definitely helped improve my game out of nowhere. Since Christmas, I have been doing pilates and yoga when I can, and then for about the last 3 weeks, I have been doing that Insanity workout. Whew! Definitely seeing results all over the place. I even have the appetite like a man after working out. Haha!

I played again a few days ago. I didn't play as well as those first two sessions, but I just wanted to keep on playing and playing! Ran outta water after two hours. I think I gave fairy a real shot and managed to hit fairy toe stall for starters. I'm also continuing to hold up long basic runs and incorporate harder tricks into the runs, sometimes even bsos! Yay! I think I might bust out my camera sooner or later.
Oh, and where would I begin if I am thinking about competing at Worlds??? Totally considering it.
