Total begginer: Need footbag help

Ok, now there are many scattered threads throughout this forum, but I just go crazy trying to compare things in thousands of different tabs. I am brand new to the world of footbagging (only been here for like a week) and I currently have 3 bags. I always hear about different footbag shops, and they all claim to be the best. My problem is, which IS the best?
All 3 of my bags are from Dragonfly footbags over at www.footbagshop.com I have the drifter 26 (plastic), whirl 6 (sand), and the pogo 8 (plastic). Dragongly footbags seem to be pretty cheap compared to other handmades that are on this site that go for over $30, and mine are holding out very well. Now, is Dragonfly really a good place to buy from? I have yet to see anyone mention it on this forum, but I really like them. So here's what I need to know:

-What's a good, reliable site to buy from
-What's a good footbag to get
-Who makes good footbags under $20
-Who makes the best footbags (any price)
-Please provide links, not names, or at least provide links with names.

Thankyou SOO much for your help and I'm really looking forward to getting more involved

P.S. Any additional help, such as good fabrics/fillings/fill levels/weights would be greatly appreciated

Also, if you happened to look at the bags that I currently own, which do you think the would be the best for a begginer like me? Currently I like my whirl because of its stalling and I seem to control it the best.

I cant help much like most others here can, but i used to kick regularly 7-8 years ago, and we always used a sand hack from the local sports shop, 10 bucks, reliable for kicking in a circle and its still intact to this day... though it has lost most of its sand...
I've bought a midnight 32 panel 75gram bag from dragonfly, and it is pretty nice, i believe they use lead... Its been a good bag so far.
If i were you I'd save alittle cash and buy from one of the stitchers here! I havent yet, but i have been drooling over a holly bag for a while, just waiting on a break from bills to buy one...
So if your just circle kicking almost any bag will do... if your freestyle kinda guy i'd just suggest buying from a stitcher here, it'd be your best bet if you ask me... But im more of a circle kicker, so my advice isnt the greatest.

You can go to http://freedomfootbags.com/ and order a Mr. sandbag or two. IMO It's the best beginner footbag for freestyle, and I vouch for the store.

Like most sandbags, it's not highly durable, as the sand gradually leaks, but we're still talking about months of usage.

You shouldn't worry about getting a 32 panel yet.

Thankyou sososoo much. Although, like you said Richardlss, u rly wanted a holly bag. I also heard that matt cross is pretty good too. Now, if i want to buy from them, shud i just PM them? or is ther another way that they use, and how can i find ther profiles? holly seems harder to find than matt.

Also, I understand that the number of panels makes a difference, but how? Like getting ur first 32 panel seems to be a big deal, but wat makes it better than my 8 panel? and how do the panels affect the bag? im sorry im askin so many questions haha im just really excited to get so much feedback so fast hehe

Hey Tree, PM them. and study their for sale pags so you have an idea of price, size,fill,how others liked their bags, color, and value. I personally vouch for A bag from Matt Cross, a two stitch. good beginer bags and you can get them with nn toxic fill. Ican't vouch for holly bags because i have not recived one but i am currently ordering. Read reviews and that will tell you what you want to know. But as others have said a Mr. Sandbag is a good way to go for beginners

Hehe wweelll.. I havent gotten shoes yet so im in a terrible pair of Nikes that are like running shoes i guess. The toe is thin and rounded, so thers no stalling possibilities. Ther like the antichrist of footbagging haha. I do have an older pair that I might mod that is a bit better but not much. Im looking into those popular Adidas lavers tho. Once i can afford them

I would add an image of my shoes, but I cant currently figure it out hehe. But they also habe this curve on the inside wher u wud stall that creates a nice little path for the bag to follow right off the edge of ur shoe haha. like i said ther terrible

Matt cross has apparently been sewing for along time now, his bags come highly recomended, and its been said you can get one of his 2 stitch's ( i believe its cheaper)... theres no difference in 2-3 stitch when kicking i've heard, just a cosmetic thing. I believe holly sales through a few venue's but PM works as well, pay through paypal.

What i understand about the panels, is its playability, the few the panels (your 8 panel) the stickier it is to your foot, the less it rolls, with more panels (beyond a 32) the bag becomes rolly, 32 panels are as high as most people go apparently.

Like i've said how you play makes the bag you play with... circle kicking anything will do, im still in love with the sand hack i first bought. sand hacks are great

and also cheap. Freestyle deff buy from a stitcher here, look in the 4sale section... I'd like to buy from Holly, Hania, Matt, Will_T (which apparently he just started selling and his bags are delicious.)

freedomfootbags.com have Matts bags, Hania's bags, and Abshire bags... Apparently everyone's got an abshire. I'd like to own a bag from each of these stitchers.. in time

Oh I've got a pair of adidas running shoes like your nike's and yea they are terrible to hack in, but since its cold and i dont play that much they get me by till spring time.
My buddy hacks in a pair of vans and swears by them, I may hack in vans, no lavers for me, since im more of a circle kicker.

Don't apologize for asking questions. That's what the forums are for! (although, admittedly, these questions were asked a thousand times on these forums and all got about the same answers...)

Anyways, the amount of panels help determine the shape of the bag. A 4 panel footbag will hardly ever maintain a ball shape, while a 32 panel footbag will hardly lose it. That means that 4 panels are generally easier to stall since they lose their shape easily in contact. However, 32 panels are easier to set consistently straight('set' means bringing the footbag up the air after a stall). A beginner would generally need a bag that's more forgiving with stalls, and an advanced players would generally want a bag that has a consistent response. Once you feel you don't need the extra help with stalls (i.e, you hardly ever drop on toe, inside and clipper stalls), that's when you move to 32 panels.

Ian was right to ask the shoes question - When learning freestyle, proper shoes are more important (I would personally say, infinitely more important) than a proper footbag.

I would recommend one of matt's bags for sure. Stally and durable from my experience with em. First Grab a pair of Lavers if you are serious about footbag. Mr. sandbag's are great starter bags if your short on cash. I would always recommend a 32 panel though.
