what kind of fabric do you like most?

Post by Alf »

I was wondering what kind of fabric(-combo) you guys like most!
and what do you think are the negative and positive aspects of the different combos!
just for reference:

from left to right: all facile, all amaretta, facile/amaretta hybrid, u.s.soft/amaretta hybrid

In my oppinion:
all facile bags: stitching looks good, best for middle/big bags, very durable
all amaretta bags: only good for small bags, very soft, hardcore freestyle weapon
facile/amaretta: best for small/middle bags, (in my oppinion the best bags you can get: small facile/amaretta hybrid), soft on the foot but round in the air
amaretta/u.s.soft(or others): often looks ugly, feels funny, nice for kicking, can be a good freestylebag when used with the right template

what do you think?

I cant really vote since i've never actually had ameretta in my hands, but From the pictures the colors just seem dull... Facile's colors are just so bright and pretty, even their dark colors pop where the ameretta just doesnt... No idea how it plays either, thats why I didnt vote.

In turns of how good a bag is ... all amaretta wins i think. But they look worse ( bad colors ) and don't really take a beating.

my favorite bag--all things considered-- was a hybrid of the thick and thin versions of amaretta. I only got a sample of the thicker amaretta though and only made one bag.

yeah, thick/thin amaretta bags are awesome, maybe even better than facile/amaretta bags!

I voted amaretta/facile, but I still have a heart for all facile bags myself.

Personally, however, I think the best bags I've played with are ones made with microsuede pentagons and facile hexagons. Even with high gather, the bags made in this method will keep their shape but perform like "pancakes" in a way. A great balance between spherical and floppy, imho.

edit: The only bad thing about microsuede/facile bags is that you have to have a good eye for using the right type of microsuede. There are some microsuedes that have a sheen to them, and that can give the bag a weird performance due to being so slippery and having little to no surface grip.
