I feel you homie. I was thinking "what's the point?" a lot for the first time this winter. I didn't play for 2 and a half months. I felt like shit though. My body literally started getting aches from not using it like I did before. And even though I sometimes dread solo sessions, my mind feels so much better after.

Hopefully your new hometown will have people to kick with. shh shh shh chicago.

hey guys, thanks for the encouragement and sentiments. I hate to be an angsty little bitch about stuff like this - we've all seen it so many times before as a call for help. I guess it's that a little bit. So it was nice to hear from a couple folks.

I played hard last night. It felt good. I wanted to play. I have some other stuff to do for the next couple days, so I won't play. Shrug.

I think the best I can do right now, is to play when it feels like I should. Try to have fun with it. And keep skills relatively un-rusty until all the other turmoil settles down so I can review my situation more carefully.

I'll watch modified for awhile and will post in a couple weeks/months.

just play when you want to...sometimes the most obvious answer is the most correct one as well.

Hey Kurt,
If you're willing to travel to my shred barn (collegeville, PA area to get an idea), show up when you say you will, and take instruction (not just nod and ignore) I'm always happy to pass along some pointers etc. PM me to let me know.

Holy crap, is that what your shred barn looks like now?!? 8O

Good shred. I'd like to see more midstring left toe, but overall looking very solid. Can you hit pixie paradon? I bet you could.

thanks ken, yeah the barn's been done for a long time now on multiple videos etc. i don't worry about both sides anymore, but you're right that I'm somewhat one-sided. oh well

---

i was in woodworking bootcamp this entire week with a master woodworker. I learned so much it's unbelievable. not worth typing up the details, if you're interested to know more, ask me about it sometime.

The project we created is unimportant, the knowledge and future projects are what it's about. But, it's fun to show your first piece ever.

kicked the past two days, it was fun, hitting difficult links. it's "health month" again, so that's nice. interview on friday.

--
04/22/2010
kicked again last night, my links are getting more and more densely packed with tricks. i have been mostly drilling right now. weak spinning isn't that weak anymore.

--

kicked yesterday, it went well and i'm enjoying my sessions right now. had a few strings that i stopped and wrote down because i was happy with them, but i don't have the list here. but one was like ripwalk > ripwalk > blur > paradon > DLO > toe set drifter.. or something similar.

my parents are both retiring on friday.

the offer is in the works, should have official details tomorrow morning. if you want to play in the shred barn, make your plans with me immediately as I will no longer own it very soon.

max power = drew m. is that right? yeah, that sounds great. Friday evening would be fine or saturday is cool too. PM me to let me know and I'll pass you my cell etc.

some combos i wrote down that I hit over the last 3 practices (yes, lots of similar tricks, but the link is what I've been working)

paradon > pdx dlo > paradon
rip > step mirage > paradon > whirl > spin clip
paradon > rip > dyno
weak pixie legover > weak toe set whirl (this was so hard for me)
smear > eggbeater > paradon
pix ss butter > dlo > pix ss butter > pdx dlo > paradon
rip > blur > pix butter > dlo > paradon
spin legover > pix butter > dlo paradon
pixie ss legover > paradon bsos

:-) ha ha, yeah.. I'm trying to use paradon, whirl, spin clip, and ducking clip in place of butterfly as much as possible, with the emphasis more so on the paradon and whirl since the other things are easier for me.

well, been working through the offer stuff this week.. more like waiting for details. i've gained weight as i have beers at night out of necessity to bring the nerves down. this is a big deal for our family. really big. i'm truly hoping things will be tied up today. i've been too mentally exhausted to play for the past two days. I literally get out there and start playing and see black spots and head spins, and so I stop and mope. but it's all because of this stress, and we're sooooooo fucking close. soooo close. send me your good vibes please.

thanks for watching david :) have been enjoying your recent magic videos. a visit would be great and needs to happen soon I think (else there will be no opportunities left to see the shred barn).

put the AC unit into the window of the shred room in the barn this weekend, and had a chance to try it out last night. What a treat to be able to kick in a nice temperature. nothing special, I'll call it "I'm fat shred" lately. stress and methods of being less stressed = too much gut. it'll be a life long battle I guess. still no final word. fuck.

played last night just effed around and had fun. i was video taping for whatever unknown reason but that ended up being extremely pointless. but I had fun overall anyways despite "waiting and waiting and waiting stress" etc.

kicking with drew this weekend.. I should clarify.. drew M. because drew k. doesn't like me anymore I guess?
