what kind of modification do you use and why?

i personally am a fan of the matt cross modification, i tried the classic one that i see a lot of footbaggers use and it doesnt keep the shoe tight on my feet, i didnt chop the lavers the extra amount though, i just moved the railing one hole up and it provides a nice big cradle for the footbag

all ive got is the inside and toes canvas cut, the normal lacing and cut the toe area up to the base, didnt cut any of the holes out, maybe i will

i already have a shoe mod i like, i didnt title this thread, i need a shoe mod, i titled it, what shoe mod do you use and why, just a general discussion

I think the first person I saw with the lacing style that I use was Carol Wedemyer. I've liked it for a really long time!

Just broke out a fresh pair of Lavers that I bought a while back when my older pair started to go south. Only mods I've done are removing inside mesh (planning to do toe mesh, but not sure if that will make that part of the shoe too weak), removing the first set of eyelets closest to the toe, and replacing the insoles.

my mesh laver have

-the first 2 eyelets removed
-toe, inner, and outer canvas removed
-arch support taken off of the stock insole (but im thinking of buying spencos)
-and deep brockas

i also have a big hole on the left clipper surface but that was an accident.

i dont rly like the mesh, im going to try leathers next time.

What's the Matt Cross/Carol Wedemyer mod?

Still using my Quantum02's which have 7 eyelets on each side. I go from the 3rd eyelet out-in, down to the first, up to the 7th on the outside of the shoe, and back down to the 4th on the inside of the shoe, afterwards lacing them up normally. This leaves 2 laces through each top eyelet. Having 2 laces in the uppermost eyelet acts as a sinch which keeps the toebox however you want it to be. You don't have to worry about the laces getting loose. Hope that made sense.
