Favourite circle

Post by Muffinman »

What was your favourite circle?

I think my favourite was probably the Canadian circle at Worlds '07 with Johnny Suderman, Byrin Wylie, Andrew Grant (and also Dan Ednie for a while). It's super cool to think of Byrin and Johnny in the same circle.

I think another favourite was, like, me in an all pro circle at Worlds '08, with my favourite player Aleksi Airinen, Justin Dale, I think Tuukka? And Samu? I can't even remember. I just remember getting lots of props from my favourite player :D Oh, also Mikko Lepisto, whom I really admired for a long time.

Oh, I was in this crazy circle at New Years Jam Chicago 2009 with David Clavens, Johnny Suderman, and Ianek Regimbald, and then just me and Dave for a while. It was suuuper cool. But it wasn't very fun, because I felt so much pressure (I think everyone, including Honza, was just watching...). Then Evan Gatesman and I think Ben Skaggs joined and I had to leave, 'cause I just couldn't compare to that kind of shred, obviously.

I suppose, based on the evidence, shred with Johnny is rather memorable!

My favourite circle...

My first instinct is to write "With Anssi", in his shed, last days of December 2009. Just like, the complete epitome of footbag, and what it means to me.

Other favourites include [in order]

1.) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gwYzuGuHPD8 . This represents my favourite time in footbag thus far, when EVERY tuesday for 5 months I'd go to Johnny's Green Room, and we'd just shred it up for minimum 2.5 hours. The end of linked video shows a brief look into said sessions. Once we started filming, was when shit was really getting good, and I'd practically want to pay to get to shred with him.

2.) Jorden Moir and David Clavens session, October 2008. Jorden and I drove to Dave's place, and played in "the basement". They obliterated that night, I remember stepping ducking symp egg from Dave, nemesis*3 (4th try) from Dave, spinning ducking symp egg from Jorden as the really big things.

3.) Juho and Toni Paakonen Circle, NYJ Finland January 1st 2010. Does this really need explaining? Milk sales went through the ROOF because of the EXTREMELY high demand for cereal, when most of the Western world suddenly got the urge to have breakfast. Like, the session wasn't super epic or anything [that was a blatant lie. Oh yes it was overly epic] but just getting to play with Finland's finest.... Dear god.

My most favourite session I *have* watched was Vasek Jorden Jim circle finals 2007. Just massacre.

My "dream" circle to watch would probably be Jorden, Juho, Anssi, and Johnny. Great balance of "what the shit just happened?", "Did I just lose my virginity?", "Genuine Hero" and "Why is that supermodel fondling him mid-string", from each player, in order with quotations.

My favorite circle so far was this year at GRASS with Johnny, Jorden, Jay, and Will. My highlight of the weekend was seeing Will hit triple

My favorite circle was probably barefeet circle with Jorden and Felix at worlds in Frankfurt. I hit Enterrage in that circle for the first time.

Also playing with Lise and others at the skate-area during the warmup days for Roskilde is always rad. Good music and amazing weather.

Watching: Vasek kicking alone with Steve Goldberg giving requests. Randomly walked into this with Søren Nøhr or Mathias Blau at Worlds 06. We where the only spectators.
