where is the piano? where are all of the anvils? i am watching out for cars. i am certainly looking both ways. nope. no lumps.

so why is everything going so well in my life these days? yep, my floor is made out of wood.

anyway, me and my waddle got out of bed at 7am again (unfucking heard of man) and played some footbag. 20m worth. played again at lunch and now i will again. 14 hour work days twice in a row. got off easy today though.

so blah:

gonna kick some insomni-hack now. keep my fingers crossed about going to brazil directly before worlds. can't believe how much i have gotten to travel so far this year. and grad school is coming up- looks like i will be able to take out generous loans on top of my waved-tuition and stipend.
for a broke little boy from the l.e.s. i really can't believe how nicely things are coming together. two years of art and learning stuff. and not having to worry about money.

time to go outside and play in all the anvils.

Carried on the theme until Friday. Practiced moves from the opposite clipper, using ideas I acquired while kicking with Takumi, which was a tremendous learning experience. He remarkably laid-back and seems to reserve himself for making motions that matter. Whether it's conscious, intentional or not it is a major change that I need to incorporate.

Ducking clipper-swirl-ripwalk-string, first try made me very pleased with myself.

Oh, and I finally identified how to improve my stepping sets in general, especially my weak side: I was not setting straight up, nor from the center of the base of the largest potential window-cone I can make. Aside from this, my right knee was not mirroring this projection and lifting straight up. Tried twice after identifying this. Both were successful.

I had a gyro-clipper-themed (as per C-Fan's request), two session day.

The first session was about 27 minutes long and it started at roughly 10am. The second session was almost an hour, and about 5 hours later.

Highlights:
*gyro clipper-ws. BS. Both new.
*some other good stuff but I forgot what

Later on highlights included:
*gc-weak symp. swirl
*some of the best strings I have ever hit
*several new combos starting with gc

hopefully C-Fan will have some pointers on my gc, since I have almost 12 minutes of footage to sort through

Played footbag today. First time in a week. Might be my last time for a while. My knee is not happy.

Had some of the best strings I have ever had, but at the cost of a better clipper, which my knee seems unhappy to provide.

Hit a very solid symposium whirl on my healthy side.
Hit spinning butterfly out of dragon

Whatever.

If I don't play footbag again I will still have the handful of good friends I have made along the way.

Tonight feels like it would be a good night to quit footbag but I want to see first if my knee recovers. If it does, I will continue and I will go to worlds. If not, well, I'll have an easier transition into grad school.

It's nice to have a place to keep my footbag-related ideas together. Thanks blog.

Today I broke my vow of 30 days off of footbag. I needed to get some exercises. Attempting dynamic Interaction with a microcontroller has driven me mad for the last week.

* 2000-2200 consecutive inside kicks btb
* Consecutive toes b2b to consecutive toes ss's
* 20 cons. mirages- hand repeat x 3
* about 3-4 drops the whole session
* I like my new Clavens bag

played a little. knee is still bad. not a good sign. probably no worlds. possibly giving up footbag for swimming and yoga. if I have to resort to low-impact forms of exercise i will.

good news: microcontroller is up and running. learning some c. feeling better than ever. just wish my knee was better. coudn't even dance last night.

22 consecutive ss mirages, first try
47 consecutive ss mirage's second
spinning clipper feels good. should have gone for consecutives

Been using the same MC bag since late Summer. Unbelievable little bugger. I bought three at the time. I gave another one to a friend and he hit a beast with it on wet grass. Unbelievable.

I wonder how much gunits will be worth in 5 years? I have 5 pairs I may never use in 11.5.

I didn't search each post to verify if you did this or not: go to a doctor and get the knee checked out. If it's something easily helped, you'll kick yourself (ha ha) for not getting it resolved.

Also, I hurt my ankle once and it was bad for 8 weeks, but has been perfect for 2+ years since then. Just saying that not everything heals in a couple days etc.

My knee has been weird since 2001, when I first gave up the sport. I saw a doctor about it in 2005 and he said there was nothing wrong with it. I will have health insurance again once I am back in school. I will check it out then. In the meantime I will just not play as much, or practice without any clippers on one side. Swimming and yoga sound awesome too though. I love playing footbag and I am hungry for it 24-7. Which, is why it helps me to say I am passed it, which obviously I am not.

Hope your move is going well.

It's funny how stress can push you beyond certain distractions. Finally I forced myself to play today. Held my knee/clipper in a different manner. Avoided whirls, dynos on weak side and swirls. Both in general. Avoided them. Concentrated on form. hit a new trick bsos. Here is a video, I will spare you the 104 con. insides b2b.

There is still a chance I will go to worlds. I really want to.

I don't have time to even think about worlds and I am far more interested in spending time with my girlfriend and making art during this week between returning from work in Brazil and leaving for grad school. Total change of heart. Brought on mostly by my knee but ultimately it's for the best that I be responsible and concentrate on other things. Maybe things will look up in a week or two after some crunch-development for one of my jobs.

Anyway, I learned some stuff. I played before going to NYC for business the other day and I hit some uptime simple dynos and some more rev. swirls. Today, I cam back from business with a new pair of lavers to work on my form and adjust weight distribution habits for the sake of my knee. I hit symposium rev. whirl swirl several times. With some work it could be a set, I believe. Hit a couple symp. whirls, a weak toe-set bf. swirl, whirl-rev. whirl-no plant-swirl-string-waux spin-etc. Good session. Bored of the knee pain but it's getting better. Took a long walk from LIC to Williamsburgh yesterday. That was nice. So was chatting with B. Dole.
