Stanford University Footbag Club will be hosting a combined footbag training camp and freestyle routine competition on Memorial Day Weekend.

This will be a very intimate event with hands-on coaching and breaking off into teams to choreograph singles routines as a group of up to 4 players, each with a coach and/or consultant to help out.

Each group will choose music and work on a single routine together on Saturday.

At the end of the day Saturday, each group will then perform their routines for a panel of IFPA-certified judges -- that is, all four players on each team will do the same routine and be judged individually. The judges will give verbal feedback to each player, with constructive criticism both on the routine and on the players' performances.

The players will then have until around 2pm on Sunday to improve the routines and to get more coaching/feedback. At 3pm on Sunday, players will compete in a tournament format, with one player from each group in each pool. (E.g., if we have 16 players, then we end up with 4 pools of 4, where each group is represented in each pool.)

This round of competition will be judged using the same judging system used at Worlds, and the top 2 players from each pool will proceed to finals. The group with the most players making it to finals will win a prize.

The final round will likely also be on Sunday (at 5pm) and the winner will take home the Stanford Cup for the best routine with the best execution.

Don't miss this unique event, and this great opportunity to become an expert at choreographed freestyle routines! This will of course also be a freestyle jam, so those who want to come and shred the whole time and not do routines are certainly welcome.

Monday will be a pure "jam" day for those who don't need to leave to head home. (Note: Monday is a U.S. holiday.)

-I can pick people up from the airport, and I do have very limited space at my place. (think like 4 or so at most).

Let me know :)

Brian,

Just to confirm what you said in the first post, Green Cup (net only) will be run the week BEFORE Worlds (same time as freestyle-only US Open). So there is no net event in the Bay Area on Memorial Day Weekend.

I hope lots of west coasters make it to your event!
My name: Jeremy Mirken, AKA Chocolatey Shatner, AKA jerk enemy rim.

I kick it with trunk chef elf and liz luck key my.
