Hey, Im new here. My Name is josh.
Im 17, from Omaha, Nebraska.
I've been playing footbag for a couple of weeks now, joined up on this forum. Thought I would get myself a blog.
-------------
Background:
November 2008: I weighed 275lbs. I was a fat piece of shit. Decided I wanted to join the Marine Corps.
August 2009: Started junior year of high school. Was now 175 lbs. Not bad, right?
Junior year: "Blossomed" school wise. Took an interest in chemistry and physics; studied a lot, took hard classes, worked a lot (fast food).
---------------
Now it's summer. Im 215 lbs. I gained 40 back my junior year (I probably shouldnt have lost weight so fast in the first place). I know I have more mucsle though; I've added nearly 200lbs to my deadlift, 150 to squat, 100 to bench press. So Im quite alright with how I look.
Im now looking to lose weight to be athletic. I want to be good at freestyle footbag. I have pretty big legs; dexes and clippers are kindof hard. If they were smaller and I was lighter, this would all be a lot easier.
I'm having lots of fun learning so far, though. I just ordered a pair of Lavers and have a facile 32 in the mail from Brian Bear.
My plan is to shred for an hour or so every morning on a 3on 1off schedule.
This will follow my workout schedule (3-1). I will rest completely on day 4; I know rest is crucial for any sport.
I will be following "Crossfit" for my workouts. For those of you who don't know what that is, their mantra is "Constantly Varied Application of Functional Movments Performed at High Intensity". I used a lot of their concepts when losing weight originally, and now I'm trying to take it to the next level (although im not in very good shape at all.) Check it out: Crossfit.com
I will also be on a strict Low-Carb diet. I will have a "carb-up" before my Max Effort lifting sessions, which happen about once a week.
Things should be good, Im following this through the summer. Hopefully when I start my senior year, Ill be fit, and have the beginner footbag stuff out of the way and really start to learn freestyle. Im gonna have fun, though.

My diet is very simple: Eat meat, nuts, cheese, fish, protein shakes, eggs, oil, and lots of veggies.
I eat two meals per day (fuck all that 6x/day bullshit). I wake up and have eggs with olive oil with cheese on top and 2 scoops of whey protein. Then, around 4 pm I have two chicken breasts with olive oil, a huge pile of semi-wilted spinach or broccoli, and a handful of almods/macadamia/walnuts.
It equals out between 1400 and 1800 calories; but theres no need to really count. I just do anyway. I count carbohydrates.
