Gibbs Street Session

Post by mc »

Matt Cross
Chris Dean
Doug Tank

one young player coming into a solid game, one classic east coast coast style, and one out of practice hippie with a lot of caffeine and ankle crank.

Doug , nice gyro run, keep it up
Chris, awesome shred man, loved the run with swirls
Matt , props on alpine marius , now hit that bastard as much as you can. The last mobius in the video I said "what the F*&K" out loud. The first trick in the video made me smile. At first I thought ...ok spinning p whirl , whats the big deal, then I realized. OH SHIT! I cant believe I missed it, SUPER TIGHT. Have you hit that set to spender yet, I got a challenge a long time ago to do it, but still working towards it. If you havent hit it, wanna race?

I gotta shred with this group

Hoag,

Thanks for the props man. I've tried that move a bunch of times over the years to no success, but I got it in two tries yesterday. Thanks, off-brand hyper sugar energy drink! I felt sick after the session, but a ton of water helped.

Yes, Chris is the bomb. Just one of my favorites of all times... it's like if olaf was a touch shorter and had slightly bigger legs... super floppy and cranky and controlled. I think the mid-string fume Chris hits in this video is the best looking fume I've ever seen.

Doug is definitely getting solid, gotta love it. I remember when he was showing up to sessions in long shorts and sambas.

Mark,

Glad you liked the alpine marius. Gotta hold on to that one, and do it to a string. Swirling spinning whirl was fun... I tried the swirling set in a way I never have before. I hit swirling spinning blender with a similar style set in 07. The day I hit it, i emailed vasek and he said he had hit it (and swirling mobius and swirling spinning whirl etc). Not sure if he hit swirlwind... I feel like that's doable.

The first person I saw hit that set in the same way was a player who had been playing for less than a year in Rochester in about 2004. He hit it to far mirage a bunch of times. He just thought it up and tried it out, and it happened to work out great for him. His was more on the gyro whirly side, but it's hard to draw the line between his and mine.

Hope we can play with you too! That's how I feel whenever I watch your videos. Don't forget to bring your honker to worlds.
