Gel Heel Pad

Post by AeR0 »

What do you think about gel heel pads, waste of money or good contestant for sport insoles?

i would recommend full insoles. in freestyle you want to stay on your toes, so heel cups wouldn't have any effect. it's your toes and arches that really need support.

anybody tried those new Dr. Scholls custom orthotics? you step onto a machine and it reads your feet, matching you with one of their 14 inserts. i'm sure these would be nice for everyday use, but have any footbag players tried them yet?

@AeR0: I used to have heel pads, and at first, it felt nice as they lifted my heels, forcing me to stay on my toes more often.

That being said, I was pretty noob (and still am) when it comes to footbag, so once I acquired better form, the heel pads wasn't really that useful. In fact, they just added weight to the shoes, so I removed them and don't use them anymore.

@Will_T: I wonder what they would suggest if you stepped on those machines with just your toes :P
